This place was great! We followed fellow yelpers recommendations and they were spot on! First course we shared a chicken crostini with mascarpone and roasted red pepper preserves. Next we shared a cranberry salad with walnuts and that was amazing. Then for a main course I had the wild bore chop with summer veggies and polenta and my boyfriend has the spicy shrimp risotto which he loved! For dessert we had chocolate ganache! I was here recently on a weekend evening with a friend. We were visiting in town and were really disappointed with the lack of dining options. Everything seemed to be a burger chain! Enter Wine on Third. This is a great wine / tapas bar that feels out of place with the rest of the street. The wine list is pretty good, and there were plenty of good food options. We didn't get the pizza because neither of us eat dairy, but the table next to us had two, and they looked great. We visited Wine on Third on a Yelp recommendation on a Friday afternoon to grab a quick drink and snack and were pleasantly surprised to find a great bar with pretty darn good snacks. The decor is upscale in a downtown (name your big city) kinda way but still feels comfortably casual. The wine list is short but the Malbec we choose was outstanding. We got the Cheese plate and the Greek plate to share and they were both very good. The service was friendly and chatty and more like a neighborhood bar than the decor might suggest. The pricing is probably a touch high for the area but would not be out of place in downtown (name of your closest big city). This place is so warm and welcoming!! The main dining room isn't always open, but do not worry, the tapas menu is very satifying. The locals that hang out here make you feel like you walked into a real life "Cheers" and allow you to join in on the fun. The wine menu is affordable and expansive. The bartender Tim is a pleasure. The food was very satifying and unique. Try the lamb lollipops... amazing!! I would skip the flight of greens... it's just a few lettuce greens with mediocre dressing, but salad aside, this place is a perfect 10. Great place to eat at the bar because they set it with a placemat and make you feel at home, but also not as formal as a dining room. I see this as a great option for those dining alone. We were in niagara 2 weeks ago, and not much was to be found that was open for anything, especially dinner. We came across this place on yelp and it looked okay so we decided to check it out. Service was really nice, the owners were actually at the bar and were very nice people, they said they missed their grandchildren so they were very nice to our 21 month old daughter. The chef was great and came out to tell us about our food, which was delicious and perfect. If we ever find ourselves back in Niagara we will be here for sure. read more

It's official! Whenever I come to Niagara Falls, I am coming here for dinner. Great service and even better food. I had the sweet and spicy Thai shrimp and my fiancé had the grouper. My food was absolutely amazing; best meal I have ever had at a restaurant. My fiance's grouper was good - but didn't compare to the flavor/taste of my dish. We also split a Caesar salad and the chocolate lava cake - both great. Also, one of the sous chefs came out of the kitchen and checked in with every table in the restaurant - as we left, he was sitting with an older couple having a great conversation. The New york side of Niagra falls is far less developed than the canadian side and had we not been told about this place we might of eaten at the casino. Thankfully we did come here and it was great. Wines by the bottle and also by the glass are reasonable and the waiter knew what he was talking about. We went with about 4 tapas and found it to be plenty of food. Got here with my wife and two kids. Kids behaved themselves well, so I don't even feel bad for leaving a terrible review. Sat down. Prompt waitress, but took our orders and we didn't see our food for another 60 minutes. Girls were getting restless. I'm patient. My wife is not, when it comes to service. Then they brought out our appetizers WITH dinner. I'm not sure who taught these people to do that. Their dinner model blows. Also, the pizza was burnt. Some char is good, but it shouldn't be the main flavor. Fries were too salty. Calamari was nasty. Half of it was light and crispy. The other half of it was dark and too much bread. Made me wonder if they re-fried the calamari. Disgusting. My mouth was raw after the double fried delight(calamari). I thought it was going to be a nice place to eat, classy. Turned out that it was a bunch of young wannabe hipsters who have no idea how to feed people for the money that they charge. As well, the prices are off the charts. I saw people coming in the restaurant and get guilty that I didn't stand at the door and ask them to quit while they were ahead. Very cute, cozy bar right in the heart of Niagara Falls, NY. Bartender was super friendly and kept our drinks coming. We had the margarita pizza and it was delicious! I tried several wines and of course my usual Long Island and mixed drinks.. every drink was a hit! We hung with some locals and they were so nice and bought us drinks too. This place is a gem in the rough! Really. It's downtown NF and it's totally different than what you would expect! ...especially if you have been in other "bars" downtown. Hubby and I went in one night for drinks and tapas - we had heard that the plates were tapas-size and not to expect too much. Maybe we heard it toooooo much. We thought that the plates were perfect for a late-night snack/light dinner. I had the greek plate - hummus, olives, artichoke hearts, red pepper strips, olives, pita bread, and feta cheese; hubby got the bruchetta sampler - two pieces with tomatoes and balsamic (sp?) and two more with gorgonzola and honey. We both liked our plates and were able to share with each other. The wine list here isn't really extensive, I think that there was only one pinot grigo on the list and two cabernets. The quality of the wine, however, is good. We were impressed that we were only paying $8-$10 a glass. The service here is top-notch as well. We reserved a table on the tapas (read: bar) side of the restaurant, but when we walked in, it was set with cloth napkins, nice wine glasses, and the tapas menu. And even though we went in late (our reservation was for 9pm), we got great service - there was never a time that we needed anything that the server / bartender wasn't right there for us....he even came to the table with the full wine bottle (!) to refill our glasses. It seemed very high class for NF. (sidenote here: reservations are HIGHLY recommended - I think that th ey only had three formal tables on the side of the restaurant that we sat on; but, even though you need to make reservations, we weren't at all out of place coming in wearing jeans!) We had a lot of fun here - we shared two plates, and between the two of us, I think we had 4 glasses of wine and our bill was about $60. We are looking for a place like this in North OC or LB (in California, where we live) so that we can "experience" it again at home!!!! :) read more

Travel to Niagara Falls quite a bit for work and this place is definitely a hidden gem.

I don't usually order more than one item, but we ordered 5 off the menu- 2 appetizers, two salads, the tilapia with couscous, and finally, the dark chocolate with almond crust. Wonderful, light, flavorful, so far above other places in Niagra. Worth the walk over! The server was gracious, detailed, and worked hard to make sure everyone had what they needed! read more

My friend and I stopped here after a who,e day of exploring NY State Park at Niagara Falls. We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor dot com. We were there for Happy Hour. We enjoyed our experience. Tasty Happy Hour wine and shared Tapas. Emery the server gave us wonderful advice on food & tours. We enjoyed fish tacos, meatballs, asparagus and bruschetta. Delicious!!!!!! They place was less fancy than the name but it was still a pretty neat place. The tables were small so I imagine it would be hard to have a big group of people out to dinner. However, I did love that they had a live band playing! I went on a Friday night so I'm not sure how common this is. I ordered the antipasto which had 4 different cheeses, dates, and deli meat-- this was great with wine (we just got the house white). The goal cheese was perfect. We ordered the classic pepperoni pizza as well as a steak and cheese. The pizzas came out way late due to a mix up but they paid for one of our drinks to make up for it! The steak pizza looked like there was a salad on top of it, though. The pepperoni was good-- but I'd definitely come back fro the antipasto. read more

If I could give 6/5 stars I would. This place is a gem in Niagara Falls NY and is lead by local community members who are incredible leaders of culture and food in the area. We were in Niagara for a long weekend to visit the Falls (both US and Canada side). We visited on a Friday evening and got the scallops, pizza, and mussels. We had no plans to return again (according with our original plans) but we couldn't resist returning again on Sunday evening. The wait staff is incredible, the ambiance is fantastic. The scallops are the best we've ever had (and we are Philly foodies). Caroline (who we would write an entire separate review about if we could) is the manager and she is absolutely a star. Her passion for NY Niagara is contagious and have never met a more inviting person. We are excited to see how this town continues to revamp itself. Cheers to her and Hats off to Wine on Third! We hope to return one day and will absolutely make this a stop on our road trip. read more

The absolute best meal I ever put in my mouth! I had short ribs my wife had pasta with pesto so good. You can cut the short ribs with a fork and the fresh pesto was outstanding. Wish I could eat there everyday. So good to see a chef with standards above everybody eles. read more

We stopped for a night in Niagara Falls during a road trip and were lucky enough to stumble into this hidden gem. It is a fantastic option in a sea of fast food chains- the atmosphere was wonderful- trendy but not overwhelmingly so. Its a great date spot, but they also were easily able to accommodate my husband and infant in a stroller. I had the tuna sashimi which I loved, and true to the name, they also had a fantastic wine list. Would absolutely stop here again if we're in the area. read more

Aimen or Aman, amen...however the managers name is spelled is reason for the 2 star review. We are a group of 11 visiting the falls....this place was recommended and after reviewing the menu we loved it. We arrive at 810 for an 8pm reservation, transportation provided by the restaurant was running late but Kurt was great very friendly and helpful. Upon arriving we were seating promptly by our server Logan, who was amazing. He was extremely attentive, good sense of humor, honest and easy going. It was a busy night, however the restaurant was well aware of the party of 11. We did not receive our first order or tapas, salads, and soup until an hour and a half later. LogAn made sure we had our drinks filled, quickly removed empty plates and glasses, he apologized for the wait. Our entrees took another 45 min to arrive and 2 of our pizzas were given to another table. Those pizzas took an additional 30 minutes. And although Logan was apologetic and we had to ask for bread during the initial hour And a half wait he immediately brought it out. Not once did his manager come to the table to apologize, check in or give an update as to why the food was taking a long time. We actually had to find him in the restaurant to tell him what happened. He apologized and said the pizzas would be comped, they were not because apparently he does not know how to communicate with his staff. After one of the individuals in our party spoke to him he still did not come to the table to apologize to the group. He gave Logan no guidance or support. The pizzas were actually not comped we paid for them. We were given $5 discount from our driver which we could not use. And although we were promised we would be driven back to our airbnb the driver told us the battery was no longer charged. Kurt was great, food was great, we LOVED Logan, but the kitchen staff were extremely slow. However we do not blame the kitchen staff, it is not their fault their manager is incompetent. read more

Six stars! The American side of the falls is quiet compared to the Canadian side, so we were surprised to find a place this nice. It's about a half mile walk from The Giacomo hotel - another interesting find there. There's a bar which is a little more lively, and a dining room which is calm and quiet. The menu has small plates, shared plates, sandwiches and entrees. We had the seared scallop risotto and the chicken quesadilla - both excellent. Yes, the menu is eclectic. Good wine and beer list, and quiet, competent service. Maybe if you're the super demanding type you could find fault here. We left feeling very pleased with Wine on Third. read more
