My family and I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. There were 5 adults and 2 children in our party. After being seated, we waited for menus while several servers were standing together chatting near the bar. I politely waved to get their attention. One waitress pointed me out to an older blonde waitress, who then turned around and loudly shouted across the restaurant, "Just wait!" The tone was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the restaurant was not busy. We were the last table being served, there were multiple servers available, yet no one cleared the empty plates from our table throughout the meal. When it came time to pay, I asked the older waitress for her name. Instead of answering, she repeatedly asked for my name. I asked her three times before she finally responded with "Maryann" (I'm not sure whether that was her actual name). I later noticed that the restaurant automatically adds a 20% gratuity for parties of five or more. Unfortunately, it felt as though once the tip was guaranteed, providing good service was no longer a priority. The food was overshadowed by the poor service and lack of professionalism. I would strongly recommend that management address the staff's customer service and communication. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant, especially for larger parties, as it gave the impression that guests receiving automatic gratuity were not treated with the same level of care and respect. read more

If you're looking for a great place to eat in Niagara Falls, don't miss Amala Restaurant. We ate here several times during our stay, including breakfast, happy hour, and dinner, and every visit was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful, spotless, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You can tell they take pride in both the food and the overall dining experience. We started with the Pretzels & Cheese and Garlic Parmesan Wings. The pretzels were soft, warm, buttery, and delicious, while the wings were some of the best we've ever had--perfectly seasoned, incredibly tender, and falling right off the bone. For dinner, we tried the Spaghetti & Meatballs, Cheese Ravioli, French Onion Soup, Chicken Cordon Bleu, the All-American Smasher Burger, and the New York Pizza. Every dish arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavor. It was honestly hard to choose a favorite because everything was so good. The breakfast buffet was just as impressive, with a wide variety of fresh, tasty options to start the day. The service truly made this restaurant stand out. Jasmine was our server twice during our stay and was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. Jeff, the Food & Beverage Manager, stopped by several times to make sure everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed. Their hospitality made us feel like valued guests, not just customers. Our only disappointment is that Amala isn't closer to home--we'd be regulars if it were! I was really wanting Italian for dinner and was traveling from another part of New York and had an early morning. I was so excited to find Italian cuisine and so close to my hotel also. It is in another hotel and it more of an open type dining area bit that's OK with me. The food choices were typical Italian and I had a very hard time deciding as it all looked and smelled good. I could see the different options arriving at other tables. My favorite is Fettuccine Alfredo but it was a bit too heavy for me this day and I chose Chicken Parmesan and my son chose stuffed Ravioli. We both were pleased with our choices and was quite stuffed at the end of the meal. I enjoyed a glass of wine and it was perfect after a long day. The service was really great and our server was attentive and professional. It was a very popular place and I can see why due to the quality of the food. read more

We had a great waitress, but that is all that was great about this place. I would never order the French onion soup at the The Amala Bar and Restaurant. I just sent it back because it has Italian flavored croutons (that belong in the salad) as croutons in the French onion soup. It does not work taste wise. The broth was not clear it and had too much sediment in it. The cheese was not melted. One bite of the crouton and just went down hill from there. We ordered the chicken wings and they are not large and they were freezer burnt. read more

We were seated and promptly waited on by Abby. We ordered the Caesar salad and pepperoni pizza to share. The salad was a good size with just the right amount of dressing. The pepperoni crust was light and delicious. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Wonderful frutti de mare which they were able to spice up for me at my request to make it like their shrimp diavolo. My wife enjoyed her chicken parm which was a big portion so we had a take home box. Had a great bottle of Chianti Classico for $42. Our server, Annmarie was very friendly and attentive. read more

Went to Amala's during our visit to Niagara New York. It was a very pleasant experience. The location is within a hotel so it is very clean and modern. The food we had was amazing; We ordered a couple imported, Canadian beers, and the fish fry since we went on a Friday and my goodness was it delicious. The serving was actually an entire fillet (enough for 2) and it was served with a side of coleslaw and some delicious tartar sauce. Our waitress was very patient, super friendly, and made good recommendations she made so we felt well taken care of. We would definitely go here again as even the view right outside the first floor is facing the casino and other rustic buildings. It was also very close to the towns center, so it is an easily walkable distance from the falls. read more

Desiree is awesome behind the bar, personality and problem solver My steak was over cooked, vegetables over cooked and potatoes instead of risotto. They were welcoming great, but the plates were dirty. The knives and spoons were dirty too. When we asked for new plates, those had fingerprints on them. The chicken wings had no taste at all -- not even salted. ‍ It would have been better to go to any fast food place. Very bad experience. I will never come back, and I don't recommend it to others. Great experience. We tried Amala because our own hotel didn't offer a proper restaurant - only fast-casual. It was so good that we went back the second night. The dinner was just fine for the price. Filet mignon cooked perfectly to order. The garlic potatoes were buttery crisp and divine. Our server Tosh lavished us with attention and good vibes. The chef visited our table and took such a liking to my niece that he comped her cookie dessert. We're very impressed. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is hands down the most appalling dining experience I have ever endured in Niagara Falls, NY. Avoid this restaurant at all costs! They not only failed to fulfill my order, but when I called to ask about the missing item, they curtly informed me, "We don't serve that on Saturdays"--despite their own website saying otherwise. The situation only got worse when the so-called manager picked up the phone. As I was talking to someone in my room, he started yelling at me to "settle down" and, when I calmly explained I wasn't even addressing him, he just hung up. I have never encountered such blatant rudeness and utter disregard for customers. In the end, they kept my money and didn't deliver any food. This place is a total scam. Save yourself the frustration and dine anywhere else--this establishment is an absolute disgrace. Buyer beware! read more

Amala Italian Restaurant and Bar is a fantastic place to relax at the bar with generous pours for mixed drinks and for dining the food is fantastic! I met the owner sitting at the bar. He made me feel welcome. We made the mistake of dining at a chain restaurant instead of dining right at our Cambria hotel and eating at Amala. We had breakfast the next day at Amala and it was fantastic! staff was friendly and attentive! You won't be disapointed! read more
