A friend invited us to join her at this Italian restaurant. We are glad we did. We started with Fried Calamari and the Rice Balls. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. For our main courses we had cheese ravioli,chicken Parmesan and Lasagna. Everyone was completely satisfied as everything was delicious. We ended dinner with homemade cannolis. It was a great experience. The chef and owner came out to talk with us and our waitress was terrific! Just a small restaurant in a hotel near the casino. Only 8 tables so I would recommend reservations. We came on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was packed. It was amazing how fast the food came out and was pipping hot. Very clean and friendly service! They open at 5:00 PM and they don't take reservations. So you need to get there before they open or there will be a line and a long wait, but well worth it! The best authentic Italian food you can find! Fried calamari, huge arinchini rice balls the size of a baseball! They also sell pizza. Dinner and drinks for us cost $70.00 we did not have booze including tip. The servings are not huge, but just right. Like I said it's a definite gem that you must try. We were a tiny nervous with the location of this restaurant. In a matter of minutes our fears were calmed with the soothing sounds of Frank Sinatra being played on a record player. There isn't a better waiter in the entire city- Greg is the absolute best. He's attentive, interactive, hard working demeanor, is an all around asset to the restaurant. At first we were hesitant of this restaurant on our first impression - there are only a few tables with the restaurant tucked away. However, this small, homey feeling of the restaurant soon grew on us as its classy ambience and personal style made us feel like we were in grandma's kitchen. I got the Chicken Marsala, which were thinly pounded chicken breasts lightly coated in flour and cooked in a Marsala sauce with carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms. This was my favorite dish of the night out my of party due to it's rich and rustic flavors. The Shrimp Fradiovolo gave a pleasant spicy kick to the traditional marinara sauce, and the spaghetti and meatballs held up extremely well to being such a classic dish. Overall, myself and my party cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We left feeling full, satisfied, and excited at having such a good meal. This is a tough review as I have never really had such a bad, uncomfortable experience in a restaurant. I also don't want to write a novel here. We were on limited time and opted for takeout. The waitress was lovely and made an INNOCENT mistake. She inadvertently charged another customer's ticket for over $100 to my card. The owner came out of the kitchen, did not address me at ANY point in time, but did repeatedly berate his staff in front of everyone there. He had zero self control or awareness. This went on for at least 15 minutes until he finally just stomped away and stayed there. I advised she should just refund my card if they could not locate void on the POS system. His staff should quit. There are too many places looking for help. No one should tolerate that and by the way, it wasn't fun to witness either. Watched as he fried my arancini and then put them in the microwave. EW. My house salad was lovely but not enough to overcome the entire ordeal. Choose somewhere else. He needs anger management classes and a wake up call. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Niagara Falls that is located less than a mile a way from the falls.. the restaurant is on the smaller side with only 7 or 8 tables which makes it very relaxing and intimate; also the service was amazing! The arancini are an absolute must and were some of the best/ if not the best I have had outside of Italy - so do yourself a favor and get an order - the tomato sauce is delicious For the entrees we had the chicken parm and pasta with meatballs - both were amazing and came with delicious salads and homemade bread And the chef personally delivered two cannolis for desert on the house!! I work on Old Falls St. In Niagara Falls NY. Many of my customers arrived in planes then were limousined to their hotels. They want to know if they can get a good meal that's within walking distance. I shrug my shoulders in response. The problem is this part of town is loaded with National Chains. I don't like chains. I knew of Cucina de Mama but I had never eaten there until last night. I pulled into their parking lot ready to take one for the team. I figured it was too close to the Cataracts. I believe the closer to the tourist attraction the worse the food. I never like to eat in a hotel's restaurant this one is in a motel. I took a deep breath and went in. I was never so happy to have my prejudices proved wrong. My fears were wiped out by the quality of the salad and the bread. Then my pasta puttanesca was set in front of me. The bouquet of the sauce told me I was in for an authentic Italian dish. It was excellent. The waiter presented the check and a complimentary cannoli. I am so happy I now have a place that I can recommend to my customers. Got a take out order from here since I was staying next door at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Service was very quick and nice, however they were out of meat sauce so I had to change my order. Also, I was a little surprised that an Italian restaurant would be out of meat sauce! I ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was very yummy! It came with a small, garden salad and some bread. The bread was a bit tough and not toasted but yummy with the marinara sauce. The salad was fairly plain but still good. The chicken was really good! It tasted more like a proper chicken breast (compared to a chicken tender) than any other chicken parm I've ever eaten!! Tonight (Tuesday) they had a special deal for Budweiser - buy 1 get 1 free. Not sure if it's a daily special or what other specials are, but I'm sure if you called ahead they could tell you. I would definitely return! read more

We took a chance on this restaurant last night based on the strength of the reviews that this place has gotten soon after opening. I debated with myself as to whether to assign four or five stars but ultimately went with five based on the quality of the food. It was not obvious to me that the food is served in the Italian style, i.e. primi, secondi...so that if you order veal, for example, you do not get pasta. If you want pasta, you have to order pasta. I should have known...it is called "La Cucina di Mamma" after all. I was sad because after I had the veal piccata, I have a feeling the pasta is awesome. The portions are reasonable to modest...if you value quantity over quality you are probably better off at Olive Garden. If you enjoy Italian food that is prepared by someone who knows what they are doing then def check this place out. The spumoni was the final act. That was awesome but I heard that the cannoli is worth a return trip, so...guess I will be back. read more

A party of two got the same amount of bread and when we asked for more bread they forgot... so we asked again. When they finally brought out the bread it was not even hot or toasted. The pizza was not worth $20. Pizza Hut or Domino's can do a better job. It just looked like they plopped some sauce on dough and just said it is what it is. I got the penne vodka and there really was no flavor... not really worth almost $20. I could get it somewhere else for the same price and MUCH better quality. I wouldn't recommend this place. Nothing that we ordered was great. Everything was below average. The service was terrible and when it came time for us to give the check he really just plopped it on our table, didn't say a word.
