The lady at the front is dismissive and condescending. The food is either oily on the outside and dry on the inside or dry on the outside and cold on the inside. They have cleanliness issues (e.g. hair and unidentifiable brown smudges in/on food). The prices are a little cheaper than other Chinese takeout places, but the portions are smaller and the quality is much lower. We used to get Wing Hing plenty in the past, however the food has completely changed. The last two times were the worst and we won't be coming back. The chicken wings were yellow? I don't know they just didn't look or taste right. The chicken and broccoli was terrible. The chicken barely had sauce and was chewy and crunchy? It made no sense. I will say that they used to have excellent food. But there has been quite a decline recently. When we ordered our food yesterday. I purposely asked them to drain my eggrolls and shrimp in the oil basket a little longer. But again my food was delivered with enough oil to make a order of french fries. I have ordered from Wing Hing for the past 2 years as it is near my job in Chester. The food has been consistent but the customer service was not good today at all Again, we placed a lunch order for take out. The person picking up the order checked to see that we had the right amount of soups, spring rolls, and lunch boxes. When we got our order, one of the dishes had no sauce on it so I called the restaurant and spoke with the Lady (cashier) and explained what happened. Instead of apologizing and fixing the mistake, she wanted to explain to me how they cook Chinese food!! "Ma'am, I'm Asian, you don't have to explain Asian cooking to me. The point I'm trying to make is that we ordered certain dishes, drove to pick it up and it was not what we ordered" She stated to come back and they would replace it. You want the customer to come back out and drive to the restaurant in lunch time traffic, when we only have an hour to begin with, and get our correct order? I explained that we are good customers that always order every month for years and this was bad customer service. They deliver, they could have dropped it off when they are delivering food in the area, they could have said we will hold a credit for you to come get it at another time but no they didn't do that. Ok so they just called me back and said if I come back with the incorrect order, they will give me a discount on a new dish. Ummm...I already paid for the dish and you want me to come back on my lunch break to bring food back to get new correct order? Been looking for a decent Chinese food place to order take-out from ever since moving into the neighborhood last summer. We decided to try Wing Hing on Friday night based on other Yelp reviews. We were NOT disappointed! We ordered pork and beef lo mein, both very standard and delicious. The beef sticks were good as well, and my friend devoured the shrimp spring rolls. We also ordered the sesame chicken which was my favorite dish. The chicken was cut into strips and the sauce (DELICOUS) came on the side for you to dip or douse over your chicken. I have ordered take out Sesame Chicken from here in the past which is awesome, white meat chicken with sesame seeds and the sauce on the side. Tonight was the first time that we dined-in. It was good! I had the Pepper Steak, which was simple and good. The peppers and onions were fresh and the steak was tender. My wife had the teriyaki chicken, which was she was very happy with. The other ones (excluding aston, theres a good one by the beer distributer and animal hospital) are cheap. This place is clean, polite and delicious. Wow, what a disappointment this place has become...lack of management--lack of quality control... I've been going here for the last 15 years or so but have noticed in the past six months or so a decline in the quality of the food. Last Sunday was the icing on the cake when we found that the fried dumplings were literally BURNT on one side. Also, the General Tso's chicken had no spice/flavor to it. I called to speak with a Manager and was told there was not one to speak to. I asked if one would be available if I call back and was told no. I then asked if one would be available the next day and was again told--no. When asked WHEN one would be in to speak with I was told "I'm not sure"! This is the first sign of bad management--or in this case--NO MANAGEMENT! I then told the young lady that I'd been a patron for the past 15 years, have noticed a decline over the last six months and my experience with the dumplings and chicken. Her response was "okay...bring it back". I told her I couldn't--that we already began to eat and I had no vehicle by this point. She didn't offer to replace the food with a delivery. I told her I will no longer patronize them and her response was "okay, fine". I then told her I felt it was important for them to know WHY...and again--her response was "okay, fine". Wing Hing is close to where I live and I've visited often when I first moved to the area. Initially, I thought the food was not bad, but recently, their quality of food has gone down hill. The dishes seem to more bland and not well prepared. The beef and broccoli has tough pieces of beef that doesn't taste good either, and the sauce is runny without much flavor. The Singapore noodles are bland with no minimal veggies or meats. Their other chef specialty dishes has mainly onions and peppers to mask the lack of meat. Also, most of their dishes are dripping in oil, more than the usual chinese place. Now I know, this isn't authentic chinese food, but I do like my fixes of americanized-chinese food. This just isn't the place for me anymore. Wing Hing, I hope you get your act together because your pork fried rice is still pretty darn delicious - I want to like you again! read more

I'm a very lame Chinese food eater. I stick to the most American food they have to offer. General Tso's, sesame chicken, chicken and broc, and ribs. All 4 of these are top notch for a little Chinese restaurant. Crispy all white meat in a thick candy sauce for the 3 chickens. Candied meats are amazing. Kinda makes you want to put them in a plastic bag and keep them in your pocket and randomly pop them throughout the day. The ribs aren't overly fatty like a lot of places and they are tender in that sweet red bbq sauce I've been known to crave. Pork fried rice is not what it used to be but still above average. I am very loyal to "my" Chinese takeout place in Delaware, but this place is 3 minutes away from my girlfriends house, and she said it was "better than average." I ordered the General Tso's chicken. The sauce was much too sweet. It had no spice to it at all. It was closer to a sweet and sour sauce. The chicken pieces were also mushy. The fried rice did have a good taste to it, and had just the right amount of eggs in it. I also had a order of fried wontons. They were so overcooked, that they were borderline inedible. The tiny piece of meat was tasteless due to the amount of fried batter surrounding it. I also want to point out that I walked in and order the food there to take home. I have been eating Chinese food my whole life. And every Chinese place/restaurant either makes their food really similar or totally different. This place has it's up and downs. Good thing is, there isn't much downs. The workers there are great and very friendly. The food has their own kick to it. Most places would have general Tso chicken with sesame seeds and have it called sesame chicken. Haha. Not this place. It's a whole chicken breast with a crispy sesame seed coating. The salt and pepper wings, omg, deep fried then stir fried in green peppers, onion, salt, and etc. if I could, I would eat it every single day. We have been ordering from Wing Hing for over 10 yrs. I have to say it was THE only place we would order from. Tonight we ordered our usual General Tso's Chicken, and it was horrible! We called and my husband took it back. They were very kind and provided us another order. There were a few pieces that were ok, then I bit into one that had the same rancid taste as the last order, and it was a darker meat with a fishy taste. My family and I usually eat from this restaurant once or twice a month. Our bill normally runs close to 70$ since it is 5 of us. Today I called to place an order for just two of us. I called at 7:21 while my fiance was in the store, and was told that it will be 15 minutes. When my fiance got in the car, she said she didn't want chinese tonight, so I called the restaurant back 6 minutes after my initial call to cancel what I ordered for my fiance only. I was told that I could not do that and the food was ready to be picked up. I was appalled at being told that I couldn't cancel my order, but nonetheless I remained calm and told her that I only want half of the meal. However she began to over talk me and tell me that I have to get all of it and that I am wasting food and I need to come get it. At this point I am beyond livid and I advised her that she was being very rude and I no longer want any of it and that I will never visit her establishment again and ended the call. About five minutes later she calls me and says that she never wants my business again. I hung up. She called right back from a different number to repeat that she does not want my business anymore, I responded to her by letting her know I already told her that I would not visit her establishment again and to never call my phone again or I will call the police for harassment. I'll be damned if she didn't call me back again! I answered the phone by saying I'm calling the police, she said go ahead I already called them and you can't come back to my store. I hung up and called the police. What part of business and customer service is this? Please be aware of this if you ever cancel an order or in my case, a portion of it.
