Can you get the wing sauce on the fried fish?

Yes, it's possible, but there will be an extra one - dollar charge.

Honeygrow has been my go-to for my "eat real food" mantra for some time. But since leaving my job,…read moreI haven't often felt like trekking all the way down the hill to Willow Grove. But YAY! Now there's a location that's about half the distance. Firdt I got the new Sriracha Tahini noodles (without the chili crisps to avoid the heartburn.) Very tasty. And this Friday, I got my favorite sesame noodle salad with (ohmygoodness) pineapple! I order it on the app and it's done. And it tastes homemade 'cause it's handmade - fast and fresh! And to add to my joy, Honeygrow has an excellent rewards plan. Love it!

Okay so this place definitely has some oddly high reviews. I'm not saying this is a terrible spot…read morebut it was really underwhelming compared to the reviews and the pictures on the menu. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. They have a lovely spot and they're definitely going for some sort of modern/fresh urban style that's not being lived up to. I love Asian fusion and my wife said she's tried one of their locations before and that we should try it, but it was a lot of oil and not a lot of flavor other than that. The chicken was kind of rubbery which I saw another review about and I'm surprised people love this spot as much as they do. This is not a bad spot if you want something new to try, it was a fun idea and interesting to try a new take. They don't have any real pictures of their food advertised and they're trying really hard to make it look like a fresh healthy menu, I don't think their meals reflect that. You could tell that the chicken was put in the box first, then the noodles mixed with a couple base veggies, then the cauliflower and blue cheese sauce on top. It didn't feel like a mixed vegetables stir fry the way I imagined. Again I think this could be really fun for people to try as a new spot, but I'm not sure we'll try them again. Their desserts do look great and may be worth us giving them another chance if we ever want to go out for a treat!

I would appreciate a little bit more brightness/acidity, like maybe some lemon wedges or capers, but that's a really minor note and I'm sure not everyone would agree.

I was in the Jenkintown area for work and turned to Yelp to find a local lunch spot--that's when I…read morediscovered Welcome Home Café, and wow, what a powerful little café it turned out to be. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by one of the owners. It's a husband-and-wife team, which always earns bonus points in my book. I was promptly seated, given a menu, and immediately overwhelmed--in the best way--because everything sounded amazing. I ended up asking the owner for help deciding, and I'm so glad I did. I chose the chicken and dumpling soup (they rotate specialty soups weekly) and a loaded sweet potato. The soup was incredibly flavorful--slightly saltier than my personal preference, but thankfully I tasted it before adding anything. The thyme flavor really stood out and made the dish comforting and delicious. I'd absolutely recommend it if it's available when you visit. The loaded sweet potato was topped with jerk chicken, one of my favorite seasonings. You can adjust the heat, and I went with how it comes--very hot! I loved it. Spicy, bold, and full of flavor, with the sweet potato cooked to perfection. They also offer unsweetened, fresh-brewed iced tea with free refills, which is always a huge plus for me. The café itself is small, but while I was there, there was a steady flow of people coming and going--it's clearly a popular hometown spot. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be making a return trip to try something new. They serve both breakfast and lunch, and they also offer catering, which makes this spot even more appealing whether you're stopping in for a quick meal or looking to feed a group. If you're in Jenkintown, I highly recommend stopping by Welcome Home Café. You won't regret it.

It came out sizzling but we still managed to scarf it down. We also has arincini, which is not pictured. They were large and fried well with peas and cheese inside. The sauce with them was very good and complimented them well. The tricolor tortellini with wil mushrooms and sausage in the Alfredo sauce was scrumptious and creamy. The chicken parm with manicotti was cooked to perfection. The cheese was ample and melted over the entire dish. The final entrees was the dinner special tomato pappardelle with Dorado and shrimp. It was flavorful and they gave a large portion. The desserts were the perfect way to end a good meal. The tres leches cake is something I would definitely recommend if they have it when you go. Overall, a nice, authentic Italian place with a nice quiet vibe.

It's been a LONG TIME since I've been to a really good restaurant. I would argue there aren't too many around, this is clearly one of them! ANYWAY...this is a charming location with a warm and friendly set up. It's in an unexpected location but very close to the Elkins Park train station. The entry is handicap accessible but likely the bathroom is not. The floor plan is pretty open and they haven't crammed tables and chairs into the space. So the spacing between tables is very comfortable. The pastas are LOVELY. Light (even/especially the gnocchi), perfectly cooked and partnered with very interesting sauces that are beautifully seasoned and topped with very fresh ingredients. The pasta is complimented and not overwhelmed. The appetizer was creative and delicious (baked peach with burrata over asparagus). The dessert was crazy unique and felt like a delicious hug (chocolate cake with strawberry and blueberry topping-trust me it is a must!). Great place for a romantic meal or a special occasion. Their prices are pretty consistent with everyone else but the preparation and presentation are superior. I'll be back for sure!
