Small, cozy little place. Kind of reminded me of a Nonna's house. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The escargot was absolutely fabulous. It was buttery, garlicky heaven. It came out sizzling but we still managed to scarf it down. We also has arincini, which is not pictured. They were large and fried well with peas and cheese inside. The sauce with them was very good and complimented them well. The tricolor tortellini with wil mushrooms and sausage in the Alfredo sauce was scrumptious and creamy. The chicken parm with manicotti was cooked to perfection. The cheese was ample and melted over the entire dish. The final entrees was the dinner special tomato pappardelle with Dorado and shrimp. It was flavorful and they gave a large portion. The desserts were the perfect way to end a good meal. The tres leches cake is something I would definitely recommend if they have it when you go. This reminded me why we used to go to restaurants...because the offerings were unique and interesting and because the chef made better food than you could at home. It's been a LONG TIME since I've been to a really good restaurant. I would argue there aren't too many around, this is clearly one of them! ANYWAY...this is a charming location with a warm and friendly set up. It's in an unexpected location but very close to the Elkins Park train station. The entry is handicap accessible but likely the bathroom is not. The floor plan is pretty open and they haven't crammed tables and chairs into the space. So the spacing between tables is very comfortable. The pastas are LOVELY. Light (even/especially the gnocchi), perfectly cooked and partnered with very interesting sauces that are beautifully seasoned and topped with very fresh ingredients. The pasta is complimented and not overwhelmed. The appetizer was creative and delicious (baked peach with burrata over asparagus). The dessert was crazy unique and felt like a delicious hug (chocolate cake with strawberry and blueberry topping-trust me it is a must!). Great place for a romantic meal or a special occasion. Their prices are pretty consistent with everyone else but the preparation and presentation are superior. I'll be back for sure! read more

Le Onde was really delicious. Flavors were on point. The bread was amazing, and the truffle butter was even better. The side caesar salad was sizeable, with a surprisingly faint sweet note. Note: all pasta on the menu is homemade, minus the penne. I ordered the lobster ravioli. It was so delicious. My only gripe and why I knocked a star off, there was SO much shell in the sauce from the crab. Luckily I am not off put by this, but it was a ridiculous amount of shell in at least 8 of my bites. Not appropriate, especially for a $29 dish. The shrimp and bucatini was so fresh. The chicken and manicotti was delicious. Portions were plentiful and service was very accommodating. read more

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for the longest time coz of the glowing reviews. We finally got to dine in to celebrate our 10th anniversary. But alas, we were disappointed. The food was mediocre at best...nothing special or memorable. I've had much better dishes elsewhere. We had an early dinner and there was only another couple aside from us but the girl server wasn't attentive. It was a long wait before she came to retake our order. It took a very long time for our food to come to us and even took a long time to get the bill. I ordered the special of the day which was a Squid Ink Pasta with Grilled Branzino. The pasta perfectly al dente and the fish was fresh, tender, & flavorful. The meal also came with complimentary bread that was warm and delicious, and a lightly salted butter than tasted like it was freshly churned this morning. The food at this place is just out of control. There is no better restaurant within a 10 mile radius that does what they do and at the caliber of how they do it. The staff too is great they are attentive and well trained on pairings and food selections, the Daily specials all align with the seasonal freshness one would expect at a 5 star restaurant. The Chef has been all around the Mediterranean perfecting his craft in the kitchen. The fish selections are perfectly cooked. The Italian menu doesn't do the place justice. The explosion of flavors coming out of these dishes are plainly put remarkable. The fact that no one is talking about this place is crazy. I'm counting the days down until i return. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen, but our meal was frankly not good. We sat outside, which was fine except it was completely empty (it was empty inside, too) and the tables were really too high for the chairs. The menu is somewhat limited. There are quite a few appetizers and quite a few pasta dishes but pretty much no other entrees. I assumed there would be some entree specials, but there really weren't. But that's ok. I like appetizers and I like pasta. So that's what we ordered. We started with the peach burrata appetizer. It sounded interesting but turned out to be very strange. There wasn't enough burrata and the "baked peaches" were too big and certainly tasted like canned peaches. The peaches didn't match well with the prosciutto and the asparagus and sprouts didn't match well with anything. It was also kind of hard to eat. We decided to split two pastas: Penne with chicken and mushrooms and bucatini with lamb ragu. Neither were good at all. The penne didn't have that much chicken or mushrooms and it was served in an utterly flavorless creamy sauce. Just zero flavor. The ragu on the bucatini did not taste fresh at all. And while I can't swear that the meat was ground beef, not ground lamb, it sure tasted just like ground beef. My wife said the pasta dishes--which were both over $20-- tasted like buffet food. I agree. Service was extremely attentive throughout the first half of the meal, but totally absent after entrees were served. We told our waiter that we didn't enjoy the food very much and while he was very apologetic, they didn't really do anything about it. read more

This restaurant has really delicious food with great portion sizes and a very cute ambience. The staff was very friendly and it felt like I was just having a food with someone's family. Definitely get the meatballs appetizer. It sounds basic but these are really good meatballs. We got the lamb pasta which was good because their sauce is for some reason really delicious here. And then we also got some baked seafood dish but I'm not sure what it's called? But it was like crab inside and it was very good. This is a great restaurant if you're looking for like a nice dine in option with really good Italian food and like portions that are going to leave you satisfied. I arrived 20 minutes after calling not realizing that previous reservations precluded me getting a table outside or near a window even though most tables were empty. I really would have appreciated being told beforehand that if you don't have a reservation made well in advance don't waste your time. Maybe I'll try again on a week day and maybe not. Amazingly this restaurant opened right during the pandemic and they have been struggling to stay open. Small family business, wonderfully kind and attentive hostess who became our waitress! And she kept apologizing all night about not being the best at waitressing yet. So sweet! Menu options were aplenty and they all looked amazing, some unique items and prices were quite fair. On a Thursday night, we were the only table in the restaurant! Knowing this we foodies wanted to help and ordered sooo much food! Couple of apps, like 5 entrees for 4 people and 2 desserts to share. We were lingering over our 4th and last (thank god) bottle of wine, lol so we ordered another tiramisu which the hostess/waitress said was on the house! They also gave us a free round of limoncellos which was soo good! Absolutely must tries here? The lobster ravioli and tiramisu! But all the other food was also delicious! We have loved this place since they opened. The last time we ate there we noticed the food was lacking and the service was terrible. Did take out tonight and was ready to try again. Had the opportunity to visit based on a popular influencers video on TikTok. Once at the location I realized the atmosphere was more rustic and homey than a girls night out which we where hoping to have. We arrived at 6:30pm and did not eat our dinner until 8:40pm, while I understand it is authentic Italian the wait and service was poor. Our server did his best to keep us updated but noticing there was not a packed dining room made the wait questionable. Once we finished our entrees (the food was delicious) we asked the waiter if tiramisu was offered as well as the check. We received the check with no answer to our dessert inquiry nor a dessert menu. I ordered the Epic Sandwich (prosciutto, spring mix, roasted peppers and cheese) and was impressed. The sandwich bread was homemade and perfect: airy fluffy center with firm crust. Fries were hot and crispy. Their menu is split into brunch/lunch and dinner. The dinner menu looks to be pasta-centric with a few traditional Italian dishes like veal saltimboca. The brunch menu offers a mix of Italian dishes and traditional American ones with a twist. Their Benedict selection looks fantastic and I can't wait to try one. Searched for a place to grab dinner last evening before a show at the Keswick Theater and Le Onde looked intriguing. I'm grateful for the other reviewers, as we ended up having an outstanding meal. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. Water arrived and our server presented the menus, opening our bottle of BYOB wine while sharing the evening's specials. For a pleasant change from most restaurants, the menus matched those online, so we thought we knew what we wanted. The specials changed that. To start, I had the tortellini con brodo. The tortellini filled the soup bowl and the broth was piping hot, full and flavorful. Some added melted cheese was a delicious touch. Our two appetizers where the fried calamari and Nonna's meatballs. The calamari was perfectly cooked and lightly breaded and the six ping pong ball-sized meatballs were excellent, with sweet red peppers in a ragu and overlaid with melted mozzarella. At this point and given the volume of food, we could easily have been full. Fortunately, we soldiered on, because the best was yet to come. The pasta special was tricolored orzo (cooked beautifully) with shrimp and salmon and thin strips of melted cheese in a white wine sauce - spectacular! My friend ordered the cioppino, which overflowed the bowl and was excellent. Regrettably, we had neither enough time nor room left for dessert, but that gives us another reason to go back, which we'll surely do. As a final note - the service throughout the evening was attentive without hovering and our courses were delivered promptly after a reasonable time.
