Amazing dental space especially for Disney fans who can appreciate the decor and the love of Disney Dr. Chung has. Who's our first time at Dr. Cheung's office to take our two young girls for their dental visits they had a great experience of my oldest one who is four was a little bit hesitant, but she warmed up. We'll have to come back and make an appointment for ourselves to see Dr. Chung as we need a new dentist that's more local comparative before I had my previous dentist was great, but he was in Arcadia. Well, Dr. Cheung and his son were very personable. Very easy to talk to explain things very well was great with kids and the staff was really nice and welcoming. The whole office is very inviting, especially to kids given that the Disney themes and have themed room, was cool! Today I visited this dental office. I was nervous as usual when visiting a dentist but it was a good experience. Dr. Chung is very funny and makes you feel very calm and at home. His stories about Disneyland were very funny and kept me less nervous. I could totally see why he used to work at Disneyland. He has that type of personality and very comforting. I think it's because I've been coming here for years - long before I started writing Yelp reviews - so I didn't think of it vs. when I eat at a new restaurant and rate it right away. Let me tell you that before the Dr Chungs (the O.G. Wing Chung and his sons), I struggled to find a good dentist and every visit was a nightmare and I dreaded every checkup. What a relief when I finally got a recommendation to come here - and ever since then I'm not afraid of the dentist and I never skip my checkups anymore. They do everything right: 1. Very skilled - everything done right. I used to gag when getting xrays at other places and here it is a breeze. 2. Honest - unlike other dentists I've been to who told me I need thousands of dollars worth of veneers, here they only do what is necessary and most times there is nothing beyond the annual checkup. 3. Friendly - the doctors and the staff are all super nice and I honestly look forward to seeing them every 6 months. 4. Great environment - the Disney theme helps me feel at ease vs a boring "clinical" office 5. This is one of the only "medical offices" where I don't feel like a number or a faceless patient. Instead, it always feels comfortable and familiar, everyone remembers and likes each other, it's relaxed and there are never too many people, everything is on schedule and I don't dread the waiting room, and overall it's just a great experience. Everyone usually hates going to the dentist and always puts it off because it is a horrible experience for them. I have to say that I have no idea what they are talking about because every time I come here I always know I will be taken care of and they will do it in the best way possible. They always make sure their patient is comfortable and their passion in the field shows in their work. Dr Chung is without a doubt the BEST DENTIST ON EARTH. He is the only doctor that I can honestly say that I look forward to seeing. I used to cringe at the thought of seeing the dentist and because my teeth are sensitive and prone to cavities, I have to either stay away from ALL sweets or pay a visit to the dentist every 6 months to fix it. Now I have a balance: I can eat sweets, brush and floss twice a day, all with the peace of mind that I have Dr. Chung by my side. He gives you a warm fuzzy feeling like hot chocolate on a Sunday morning. He always greets you with a smile and chats and jokes with you like you are his only patient of the day. He is gentle, professional, and attentive, and before you know it, your pain has been relieved and you are ready to go home. He's not like other dentists who want to drill and work on your teeth for every little thing (and steal your $$!). Dr. Chung's theory is: if you break the enamel, it doesn't grow back, so it's better to be more conservative during this process. He has your best interests at heart and I trust him explicitly. The amount of care and attention I've received from him in the last 2 years is more than all the doctors I've seen in my life combined. I was hesitant to write this review because I didn't want his schedule to get all booked up... But I'm sharing my experience now in hopes of helping other people who need a new dentist. Bottom Line: Hands-down the gold standard - the best there is. Once you start here, you'll find you won't ever go to a different dentist. The Medical Care: Dr. Chung is one of the few dentists who does cleanings alongside his staff. He is courteous, attentive and absolutely hilarious. He cracks jokes while working putting the patient at ease and making a visit to the dentist kinda fun (really!). He also carefully reviews each patient's history with every visit and goes over all options for dental work if needed. His work is of exceptional quality - my fillings have lasted years and aren't noticeable at all. The Atmosphere: This is a place is like a visit to Disneyland. In fact, (no joke) Dr. Chung works part time at Disneyland on weekends because he enjoys interacting with people and because he gets discounts on Disney apparel which he uses to decorate his office with. Each room is themed after a land at Disneyland and is colorful and welcoming. His staff is friendly and you can tell they love working for him - they are enthusiastic and go the extra mile in helping you out. When I had to take on student insurance that didn't cover his office visits, they helped me with a flexible payment plan so that I could continue seeing him. He's given me extra toothbrushes and floss and is always very helpful in presenting me with options on handiwork. The Service: Over the past 10 years, I have lived in Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Durham North Carolina. Through it all, Dr. Chung has been my dentist because I cannot find anyone that is near as great as he is or his staff is. Dr. Chung's first priority is his patients and staff - he is not in the business of trying to maximize profit and it shows. I came across Dr. Chung by sheer accident or God's providence (depending upon your faith). I had a crown replaced at my own dentist and began having severe pain on Friday morning. After a sleepless, pain-induced night, my pain scale had reached about a 7 and rising faster than inflation. I called my dentist's emergency number and his wife answered and told me her husband was on a golfing vacation but she would call me back in an hour or two. I tried calling the number several times in the afternoon but each time it went to voice mail. I was now being "ghosted". I began frantically texting friends and searching on Google for anyone open on Saturday, without any luck! I found Dr. Chung's name associated with a name of a dentist I knew in the 80s and 90s and called the exchange. Ten minutes later, I received a call from Dr. Chung, who was eating In and Out burgers after coming from Disneyland. He listened patently and intently and, unbeknownst to me, had already formed an opinion on my condition based on his expansive knowledge and experience. After an engaging conversation, he called in a pain and anti-biotics prescription and agreed to examine me on Monday morning. Unfortunately, the pain level continued to magnify into Saturday evening and I began looking for an iceskate blade to remove the fiendish chomper a la Tom Hanks in Castaway. I again reached out to my dentist at around 9pm, with no respose from Casper, then frantically called Dr. Chung at around 1130 pm from the number he had called me earlier. I left a message on his voicemail, then, surprisingly, he CALLED ME BACK on a Saturday night, near midnight! He agreed to meet me on Sunday morning at 1100 am! I counted the hours, but survived a second sleepless night due solely to Dr. Chung's compassion and professionalism! He called me around 9 am and we had the same engaging conversation we had the previous day. He said, "Well, I kind of pride myself on being a country dentist and run my practice this way." I quipped, "Well, do you make house calls?" Without missing a beat, Doc Chung responded, "Only if you let me use your Dremel!" We both chuckled, and the shared laughter reduced my pain level a few seismic notches down the Reichter scale. True to his word, he and Carmen, his assistant met me at 1045 after Carmen had come from church. I didnt have a ten page disclaimer form to read and sign. No demands for my first born male child. NOTHING. I was in so much pain, I could not bite down on the cardboard and declined Carmen's attempt at an x-ray. Undaunted, Doc approached, drill in hand, and said, "Trust me!" "But aren't you going to shoot me with Novacaine?", I pleaded. He repeated, "Trust me!" I thought hard for those seconds: I mean this guy answers his phone at midnight, comes into the office on a Sunday, with his assistant, and is so patient, conversational, and seemingly always in the moment. How could I not trust someone like this? He drilled, and filed, with Carmen assisting. Checked my bite. Drilled some more, checked some more. then drilled, then checked. Then, what do you know! Now I could bite down without pain and even allowed Carmen to x-ray me; Without pain! Carmen said, "It was like walking around for several days with a rock in your shoe. It will hurt for a few days, but it will heal". Doc showed me the x-rays and, pardon the redundancy, but patiently, showed me on the x-rays the nerve in my tooth that was enflamed. I begged him for stronger pain meds to sleep that night. Doc said, "You won't need 'em!" How could I not trust his judgement? I left the office without even a dime leaving my pockets. By evening, the pain was down to a 3. This morning, as of this writing, I can barely feel any pain! Evelyn from Doc's office called me this morning to check on me. Please forgive the lengthy post, but in this world we live in today, who does this? Dr. Chung is not only the finest example of a good, caring, patient, and honest dentist but an exceptionally compassionate human being! I would gladly give him my first born male child and I would "trust" him with my Dremel anytime time this country dentist wants to make a house call! read more

Upon hearing our names called while in the waiting room, we are greeted by Cindy (the kindest office manager) and/ or one of the dental assistants who always are pleasant and positive. It's always entertaining to see all the Disney paraphernalia. My family has been coming here for over ten years, and our check up's and visits have always been more enjoyable with no anxious thoughts. I have been a patient for more than 10yrs and always had prime insurance. In recent year I have not had insurance coverage and just so happened, I needed a lot of dental work. 10k according to other dentists. However, after looking into price comparison, I found out the other dentists had no shame in charging double the amount to their insurance provider, which in this case was me. Dr.Chung practices with greater integrity and higher ethical standards. He saved me close to 5k. Dr. Chung will work hard trying to save your teeth rather than just capping, pulling, or digging out your roots. Dr. Chung and staff are amazing. My wife and I have been going to Dr. Chung's for years. His entire staff is amazing. You are always treated with respect and they are very cognizant of your time. Cindy is very thorough when it comes to explaining any questions you might have in regards to work done or needed. We never have issues with our insurance because Cindy works with them directly eliminating me having to worry about any fees or dues that are due to insurance. How could I have gone this long without knowing about this dental office. I am so lucky I stopped going to my previous dentist, because just sitting in the chair alone, I'm already the most comfortable I have ever been in a dental office. Especially knowing I might need a tooth extracted before they even have to tell me, I'm still comfortable.
