When our cat passed at their facility it was very respectful and we had time to let go in a calm environment. Our dog is currently healing from a tooth extraction and we're glad they were able to get her in for the procedure in a reasonable amount of time, she wasn't in any pain and we didn't want her to be. Our dog gets nervous but the staff were able to see her sweet side which means she trusted them. It's also very helpful to have the option of a payment arrangement, it definitely takes some of the stress out of an already stressful situation. We will continue to come to Creature Comfort with our old and new pets as long as they're open and we're in the area!

I've lost count for the numerous times we would call for an urgent matter, and be taken the same day. They perform required assessments, and not to " run up the bill". We just had our 16 year old orange cat, Shasta, have an Echocardiogram and Labs. Dr. Kapoor " nailed the heart murmur scale of 2. The scale is 1-6. This was confirmed by the cardiologist... a 2. The staff are so supportive and compassionate. We've had all our cats eventually pass away, and the staff was so supportive! Yes, they may be pricey as Vets go. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and they listen to any concerns we have. Communication is excellent and they respond to emails and phone calls/voicemails within 24 hours, which gives us so much peace of mind as pet parents. My husband and I recently added a second dog to our family, and although we moved a litter further, we still make the trip all the way from Pittsburg just to come here because the care and service are worth it. We couldn't recommend this office more and we are looking forward to continuing to get our dogs taken care of here!

The process is relatively painless, though there are lots of rules you should be aware of to keep your pet safe and the neuter process manageable. You first need to book an appt on their website and pay a $120 deposit. Be aware; spots fill up very quickly and if you cancel without more than 24 hours notice you will forfeit your deposit. You will need to fill out an intake form before the appt to make sure your pet is old enough and weighs enough beforehand (if not, you should reschedule or risk losing your $120 deposit). Day of the appointment, there's a drive through line for you to check in your pet at the designated time, a process which moves quickly. Drop off and pickup were both very easy and the directions given were clear and detailed. You will also have the option to add other services in top of the neuter/spay surgery, including some vaccines, flea protection, etc. and pay when you arrive. So important to have services like this available to the community, and I highly recommend checking out East Bay SPCA for all your spay/neuter needs!

Dr. Sood is very thorough in explaining issues, exploring solutions, and my two precious dogs are well cared for here. We've been to the vet a lot this year for various reasons unfortunately, so I've got a bit of experience with coming here. When we had an issue that was too specialized, the referred us out to another pet hospital and overall that was a good experience too. The staff here is also amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and they follow up to make sure my dogs are doing well after our visits. I am lucky to have found a good vet here in Oakland!

I am very disappointed in the treatment I received at Woodminster Vet Hospital. I had taken my…read moreyoung puppy to them since I picked her up from the breeder in 2025. Initially all was good however on 3 separate occasions when I received a receipt with my pets name on the first page and a list of vaccinations she received during the visit. I noted that on the second page in black and white were written instructions for another dog who had sustained an insect bite. When I contacted the office the first and second times this occurred I was assured that they would take care of removing this false documentation from my pets medical record. On the third time I noted the same language, I insisted on speaking to the manager and owner to voice my concerns which I had to place in writing two times to actually get it done because they stated it was just the receipt and that my pets medical record was accurate . As a health care professional with 46+ years of experience I am concerned about their lack of knowledge and understanding that any and all medical record documentation needs to be accurate. After finally getting the paperwork amended and talking to the owner who profusely apologized, I thought everything was resolved. Unfortunately, when I called to make a follow up appointment for my pets routine vaccination on 6/26/26 I was first told they didn't have any available appointments which was untrue because my friend who I recently referred to them made an appointment on the same day. After thinking about it I called back and was then told that I needed to talk to the coordinator before I could book an appointment and she wasn't in the office and would call me back sometime the following week. Of note it is now Tuesday 6/30/26 and the office manager has not called me nor sent an email. It is now obvious to me that I was banned from the office for making a complaint about a mistake thier office made and no one had the dignity or respect to call me or send a letter so that I can find a new vet for my pet. I would not recommend going here as I feel their lack of integrity and tack which is a big ticket item for me when dealing with anyone who provides care to animals and people, especially when the cost of care is not cheap nor free.

Given the population of stray cats in that part of town, I figured they do this often. The vet called us between inspection and operation to notify us that Shadow is healthy and able to have procedure done. They were also thorough with instructions on his anti-biotics and gabapentin for his 2-week recovery frame. Now our kitty is a full member of our family and has seen no major health issues since. It's been 8 years since I last stepped foot in Groveway Pet Hospital. My last experience with them…read moreleft me with an extremely bad taste in my mouth, so much so that I swore I'd never go back to them. However, my big boy Chomper is 12+, and last January I noticed he was really struggling to do normal things. I changed his routine and started hand-making his food, and he instantly got better. But having had another dog who was the same mixed breed and who showed the same signs towards the end of life, I knew Chomper's time was limited. Then last week he had a bad morning, and seeing he was in pain, I relented and called Groveway hoping that they'd just prescribe him some medication for pain management. I was able to bring him in that same day, and of course the first thing he does is urinate all over their waiting room floor like he had never whizzed in his life (and I JUST let him relieve himself outside beforehand). I apologized and offered to clean it up, but the receiption staff and another staff member quickly began to clean it up without hesitation and reassured me that it was ok. We entered into the examination room, and from the very beginning vet tech Stella was kind, polite and asked poignant quesitons. Soon after Dr. Powell came in, and she was equally kind, polite and wanting to help my boy. Dr. Powell was wonderful - she was compassionate and at the same time willing to have the difficult conversations. We decided on bloodwork that would take about 30 mins or so. Needing a urine sample, Stella escorted us outside to the back area with room to roam and a bench to sit at. After getting the sample, Stella made every effort to make sure my boy was comfortable - she invited us to stay in the backyard to enjoy the fresh air and sun, she brought out a blanket for Chompet to lie on, and she brought both of us water as well. Needless to say, after my last experience with Groveway, I was hesitant to contact them thinking that they might somehow try to hustle me again. I am so glad that I called them. The staff there were nothing but professional and courteous. Stella was accommodating and loved on my boy like he was her own dog. And Dr. Powell's compassion and willingness to help was nothing short of amazing. We didn't get the results we wanted, and that's just part of a dog getting old. But we have another checkup scheduled in a month, and I'm looking forward to the staff at Groveway spoling my Chomper again.

Dr Powell is an amazing, compassionate, kind, and incredibly well rounded veterinarian. She has great bedside manner and is always friendly and personable. She is always honest and straightforward with me, which I genuinely appreciate. Whenever she explains something to me, she does so in a way that is easy to understand. She is always patient with me and my questions, which I truly do appreciate. The technicians and rest of the staff are amazing as well. They are incredibly skilled and always go above and beyond with my pets care. Whenever I've had to drop off my cats for a procedure, they always assure me that they will do their best to provide great care. And during pick ups, they always share that they gave lots of pets and cuddles to my cats. The staff here genuinely do go above and beyond all the time. They do their best to provide great care, great customer service, and have all around great energy. Groveway is the vet hospital that I trust completely with my pets. Not only do I trust them with my own pets (Levi & Papi), I've brought in a couple of community/stray cats (Cottonball & Charlie) to them. Dr Powell and her team gave them excellent care as well and were so kind. Anytime Dr Powell and her team recommend something, I always tell them to please do what they recommend.
