Ordered the bacon cheeseburger, which was pretty good. It was a little pricey for the quality ($13) but was better food given the nearby alternatives of McDonalds or Wendy's. They also give you popcorn to snack on while you wait for your food, which is a plus. I ordered a side of ranch to dip it in but it didn't really taste like typical ranch. We made the mistake of sitting at the bar and had very poor service. With wings you definitely need napkins and getting napkins required an act of Congress. We had to beg for them multiple times to get enough napkins to complete the meal. Oh, you need silverware for a meal? Apparently the bartender didn't know that and it also had to be requested. I can go on, but why bother. The wings are average at best and with the poor service it falls way down in the grading system. On a positive note the breakfast eaten there the next morning complements of the Best Western motel, was very acceptable and would receive four stars if the dinner hadn't been so poor. read more

This is one of the last Wingers with Fried Chicken and Waffles on the menu. Just for that, 5 stars! Our service exceeded expectations and although it was fairly busy, we got taken care of quickly. Wingers is taking this off of their menus apparently as the new location on Eagle road used to have it, but it was taken off their menu a while back. BLUF: This restaurant has shaken off the doldrums and has made great strides in quality of food, service, and atmosphere. If you haven't been in in the last six months or so, then it may be worth a try. History: We have been customers at Winger's since it opened. There was a great start at the opening that reflected all the high points one would expect. Somewhere along the way the entire dining experience seemed to flounder. The only thing that was being done well was quick seating, but after that food quality, server courtesy, and cleanliness were a gamble that normally didn't pay off. The overall impression I left with was "we just don't care" from the service staff. To Wingers' credit, whenever we brought our concerns to a manager they were quick to make it right with either a complimentary item or adjusting our bill. Our patronage of Winger's slowed to a visit to see if things had gotten better maybe once every three or four months at most. We'd rather enjoy a restaurant "getting it right" than one that has to "make it right". Present Day: Over the past two months we have dined at Winger's three times. My wife is loving the burgers that are cooked just the way she ordered it. (medium) My favorite is the meatloaf, though on the most recent visit, i had the half rack of ribs. Food has been hot, delicious, and wait times were low. On our most recent visit, our server Heather did a fine job of making sure that we had what we needed, and never let the drink glasses reach empty. Well done! The only negative was the appetizer plate set out that had some form of smudge on it from not being totally clean. That should be caught by the server and not the diner. Not a biggie for us, but other diners can go off the rails from that point on. We asked for the manager on duty, and shared our thanks for a job well done as well as the observation of improvement. We were told that a new management team was in place not just at the immediate location but higher up the ladder. It shows. Thumbs up to the dishwashers up to the area manager. Areas for improvement: Logistics: The waiting area up front is cramped because it is small and in a main walk way. Having a game plan of where the next two, three, four, five party group will sit before they arrive may help. This is the beginning of the customer experience so it needs to be fast and friendly. Soft Skills: Service with a smile ! The staff that is customer facing seem very focused which is a good thing. This spot is arguably the "fanciest" place to eat in town. That says more about dining in MoHo than it does about Wingers, though. Their food and drink selection is really pretty decent, and I've never had cause to complain about the quality. I'd echo the sentiment about popcorn being a bizarre table starter, and on the whole the menu strikes me as more expensive than it ought to be for what you're eating. The bar/Tv/sport side of the place is nice, and there's a nice energy in there on game night and the weekends. As perhaps the only major sit-down restaurant in Mountain Home, Wingers doesn't disappoint. Their menu is somewhat diverse, full of tasty-yet-standard American and Americanized food items. Everything that I've had from here has been great save for the time I made the mistake of getting the crispy noodles atop my rice bowl. It's great without it but with it, I didn't like it. Our waitress never asked me what I wanted to drink and the wings tasted like they were burnt so they tried to hide the taste by drowning them in overly sweetened sauce. Let me start by saying I don't eat here anymore. Ever. The food is gross. I have given them several chances to get it right. No, it's always gross. They can not even get a chips and salsa right. My daughter got food poisoning from a hamburger on one occasion. So no food! I do however, go in for a cold beer once in a while. The service is not impressive even if you sit right at the bar. Wingers was the first place my family tried when we first came to mountain home. our first time was kinda bad. the food wasnt that great and our server seemed to be somewhere else. We ended up going back and the food was ok and the service a little slow. My 3rd experience was better but then again its hard to mess up a salad. Went here for complementary breakfast after staying at the Best Western the night before. You get four choices or $6 off your choice from the menu. Not terrible, but not good either. Table was sticky. Used margarine instead of real butter, coffee creamer packets instead of real cream (they did bring me milk at my request), fake syrup, and what I presume was egg substitute in scrambled eggs - .50 cent up charge for real over medium eggs. Maybe I've lived in Portland too long, but is it difficult to get real food in Idaho? I'll give 3 stars total: 1 star for the nice girls serving, another for it being free and lastly a star for their bacon which was perfect. read more
