I am so sadly disappointed in the changes in Mobile Meals since they opened their own kitchen and…read moreno longer contract with hospitals for food. The mission of working with clients specifically with special dietary needs seems to have been lost. When pureed food done with a bullet and not fully pureed didn't work, the then dietician had me go to a soft diet. When the food wasn't soft I took many, many months off and today tried again. After not receiving soft food I called and spoke to someone who didn't introduce himself. He told me that dietician who use to work with clients is not with them, and Mobile Meals has gotten away from most of the special diets like soft foods. He apologized for the inconvenience. It is so much more then that-finding the basic mission I thought Mobile meals had to be gone and the difficulty I face finding food to sustain. Sad.

With her dementia she would forget to eat, couldn't work the microwave or didn't like the meals. The meals come hot from Mobile Meals and a lot of food for almost nothing, it's amazing! We're now able to get her back into pants she use to wear and she's loved every meal! One of the awesome benefits of the service besides all being incredibly friendly is they are able to check on her, talk to her and report how she's doing. I highly recommend this service for anyone needing help.

Usually busy but the stocking staff are helpful and friendly. It's an older store but well maintained so shopping is a pleasant experience. They have self checkout as well as a few tended lanes so you pick. Really can't beat their prices!

We had limited cooking materials, but did have a cooler and a stove, so we knew we could make something tasty but simple. A quick appetite check, and we ended up settling on fajitas. We grabbed an onion, a couple of peppers, some spices, some pre-cut fajita steak, and the largest soft flour tortillas known to man. Massive. Bigger than your head. Bigger than a dinner plate. Massive. Of course we also grabbed chips (chips are life) and a small assortment of Jarritos because what are fajitas without chips and Jarritos? NOTHING. So the accoutrements came too. A little ice and we were all set. Ready for camping trip magic. And magic it was. It's beyond the scope of Food City, but everything came together beautifully despite the fact that I definitely forgot to buy camping fuel, so we had to ditch the large camp stove in favor of the small backpacking stove. But I did learn that you can indeed cook with a massive frying pan on top of a tiny, 3.5-ounce backpacking stove. I thought the produce section was fine. Not the most impressive stuff, but enough things in decent enough shape that fajitas were possible. The meat was okay, decently priced and I'm glad they have the pre-sliced option (because somebody -- me -- also forgot the knife) and the quality was fine. Overall it's not the tidiest store but it had lots of unexpected treasures from Mexico and Latin America. And that made for a great dinner of fajitas, eaten from a giant frying pan off of a tiny stove, wrapped into massive tortillas while watching one of the great sunsets of my life in a national monument later in the trip.
