He barely spoke to us and rarely made eye contact. He did spend an inordinate amount of time on his cell phone, leaning against the wall. Regardless, there is plenty of room to spread out near the front and rear of the building where you can have a drink and chat with friends. Drink and food prices are competitive if not better than what you pay across the road at the Nice and Easy Oyster Bar. I didn't order any food but the beer was reasonably priced and cold. Tonight, Joe Santana's Kingfish was playing for a special event. It was the bar owner, Dale and Joe's birthday party, so we showed up on a spectacular evening. Another first for me was seeing Joe and his band play, they are excellent muscians, can't wait to see them again. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Dales Ales, especially if you happen to be on a ride with a group. It's a great dive bar with a ton of character.

We grabbed a table near the back door and the bartenders brought over a few sweating glass bottles of LandShark stuffed with lime wedges, she was friendly and attentive. There were a few small groups scattered around the bar BS'ing and slamming shots along side their chilled glasses of cheap draft. You could tell by the conversation some of these guys have been telling the same stories for years to the same group of friends and often loud enough to be heard by a few strangers like me - it seems the first liar doesn't stand a chance. Although I've been passing this bar for years this was my first time stopping in but it definitely won't be my last, they used to call these working man bars, today I'd say that could be somewhat true but I think some of the patrons probably open this bar and few others close it everyday - there were a few philosophers at the bar giving advice to whomever would listen, even if the sky was falling you wouldn't be able to tell inside here.
