Picked up an order, drove home, found that celery and a side of sauce were missing, and the loaded fries weren't loaded. Drove back and was charged extra for the sauce (Will admit that my wife simply typed this as a request rather than adding it as its own item), was given cheese and bacon in cups (rather than a new order), and was told "nah I remember putting the celery in there." Tender, meaty, juicy, crispy yet covered in this delicious sauce, my favorite honey mustard. Dear God the boneless wings are amazing and I'm not usually out here reviewing fast food chains but I just have to say something like it's that good!At least there's only 1 Wings Over in Newington and it's called "Wings Over Newington" which gives me a great reason to compare it to another Wings Over one day. The missing star is because sometimes, on normal days, service is SLOW like in all caps. SLOW! I'm afraid to order delivery from here because I've had trouble getting it within 2-3 hours!!!! With Uber Eats and Doordash being a thing now I trust them a little more but multiple times they let me down even pick-up wise. Great food here. I went twice one for a Yelp event and one once more! The wings is made fresh with each order. I got the garlic parm wings with a side of tots! I enjoyed the meal. I always go back after a Yelp event to see if the service is the same and I must say they upheld the great service. They have an array of flavors to choose from! When I taste a win, I most definitely have to go in! Wings over Newington hit all of the marks for me today and I was not expecting for my chicken to openly slap my face the way it did. Slid up off into the spot and loved the layout, plus it was nice and clean; ready for business but then again, I did go first thing in the morning and so there wasn't a lunch rush or flustered folks behind the counter. With so many option to choose from with styles of chicken and flavors, I wanted to try something new. My eyes fell upon the Texas Mesquite Dry Rub and also the Honey Mustard (Savory) options for roughly $13 and the kid behind the counter said that price point comes with two flavors. I was stuck between the waffle fries and the tater tots, so I decided tots and waffle fries because, why not at this point in the game. Those tater tots had wild crispiness! It appeared they also had a garlic powder sprinkled over them for extra Karate Kick to the mouth. Crunchy and Flavorful without dipping them in ketchup? I tore those things on up as if they each owed me money for far too long. I even think I started smacking my lips extra loud too without a single care in the world. Moving along to the Wings (which were crazy hot btw and I loved that!) The honey mustard option packed so much flavor and a damn great bite! Plenty of chicken (though the wings are on the small side) but enough tender chicken to make up for the size and that crunch on the skin? Come on Family!!! THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A WING BABY!!! Even the Waffle Fries came through with a nice potato bite, crispy and did not need salt in way of seasoning but you can dip these little things up off in some ketchup for a nice wow factor to your chew. My Texas Mesquite wings did not play fair. When I say these Wings will have me coming back for more over and over again? I MEAN IT!! Such an amazing power punch to the tastebuds for this dry rub! Yup and I stand by this rating because we have had wings there for the past couple of years on one of the busiest days of the year (NYE) and they have always been tender, delicious and full of flavor. I know there Wings Over Newington has delivery options and people might have different experiences but I always place my order and pick them up ensuring that they are freshly made. I have even picked them up and reheated them and they were never dry and flavorless. Not sure where to begin with all the downfalls of this restaurant. Ive eaten at the Bristol, West Hartford, and Storrs location, and this location is by far the worst of them all. Fries are consistently undercooked, cold, soggy, soft, and horrible. Sometimes when I ask for well done they are a bit better. Half the time they dont even cook them well done when I indicate on the online order. Fries are HORRIFIC. Please, have a manager go back there and try some of the fries they are cooking. The fry containers are consistently filled 1/2 to 2/3 of the way. Wings are usually ok pieces, but theres always a couple chewy, inedible pieces in the mix. These pieces dont resemble a tender/boneless wing at all, its just a mess of chicken in a ball practically. Here's the best part. I filled out a survey a few weeks ago and left poor review as the food was not good, and I got a $10 coupon. I redeemed the coupon and noticed my receipt had "preparation complaint" discount. When I got home and had the food it was great! The best I have had in months. Then when I ordered the following week, food was terrible again... its almost like I need to complain to get the staff to prepare some decent food. read more

I will do an occasional take out from here, not because I like it, but because my fiancee insists on ordering from here. She likes it. I am not impressed or really like the food here which is pretty much wings, fries, onion rings, wraps, milk-shakes, etc... The bone-in wings I say are the best thing you can get here but the boneless wings on the other hand are just overcooked chicken strips doused in sauce. Wraps are bland and the fries & onion rings are usually soggy and greasy. They do have a wide selection of sauces that you can put on pretty much anything, but I find the sauces a bit too sweet. In the end I think that for what it is the food is expensive. So really what am I paying for, smiles and amazing service? Maybe not. Literally so bad. My wings were BONE DRY, as if someone had poured one drop of sauce on, thought, "Nah, too much," and then proceeded to attempt to smear that one drop all over one wing. I had to go all the way back to get sauce, which, to their credit, they were nice about. They also gave me Ken's dressing in those little packets and I was under the impression that they're supposed to have their own brand of dressing. Went over to New B recently to visit my sister and she is an avid watcher of the Daym Drops youtube channel that recently featured this restraunt (See Daym P.'s Review you got the king of flavor to review ya joints!). Not a fan. This place had pretty horrible service. The people at the register didn't seem to know what they were doing (maybe they were both new?). They said it would be an hour wait, but it might be faster if I called? I'm standing right there... not sure how that makes any sense! Anyway, I waited and ordered their 2 most popular flavors according to one of the workers. The wings themselves were very plain (boneless) and the sauce was even more plain. I'm 31, not 21. Knowing that alone, you can probably infer that my fiance and I ate at Wings Over Newington as an act of desperation, not one of critical analysis and logical decision. After a service experience at the nearby Black Rose that was so unbelievably bad that we never received dinner, we haphazardly ran towards the geographically closest food establishment, which happened to be this one. DO NOT get the regular wings. I simply speak from past experience as a two-time UConn alumnus. They're breaded and/or floured, which is the dumbest thing you can possibly do, as one of the signature characteristics of great chicken wings is the crispy outer skin. Their method instead results in soggy and gross skin. Still, the boneless wings, which really should be called "deep-fried pieces of breaded boneless chicken," are quite good. In this case the breading makes sense, because there's no skin to create a naturally crispy outer layer. The citrus chipotle barbecue sauce was a great choice. Sugary, salty, spicy. So we shared a combo, which included a pound of the boneless wings, an enormous pile of fries, and a soda. Add a second soda, and the total was seventeen and change. That's a nice price for a large, fast meal. So even though I hate the actual chicken wings, Wings Over does remain worthwhile in my book. I've probably ordered from this place 20-30 times since they've been there. Very consistent and good. We usually get 1/2 lb boneless, and 25 wings - the dry rubs are really good. Waffle fries well done. We end up eating leftover cold wings the next day. I've never gotten a bad meal. One guy got a penis shaped boneless wing - maybe you were a dick when you ordered! (Pun intended). We've only gotten them delivered maybe 5-10 times??? I always try to tip the drivers good - maybe they know me??? I doubt it but maybe. One guy came out during a snowstorm. Never had any problems with drivers, messed up orders, or leaky bags. I was really surprised to see this in other reviews. Burgers are just ok. One son likes them. Gotten ribs a few times - also good. Maybe one time the Blackened Cajun were too black. That's about the worst I've been from them - still ate the crap out of them! Overall, they do a great job. A cut above other area fast-food options. Call for pick-up. I've gone in to order and the wait is extreme. Add 20 minutes on to whatever they estimate the time to be. The employees have three settings: "slow," "slower," and "barely breathing." Get ready to deal with air heads who need to be gently encouraged to get it right. The barbecue sauces are cloyingly sweet. Our favorite chicken "flavor" is mustang ranch. Buffalo wings are sufficiently spicy but very, very greasy (however, that's the nature of the beast). The best product is their "boneless chicken wings." I buy a bag of dinner rolls and then the chicken. We make little sandwiches out of the rolls and the boneless wings, with a little tomato and some mayo. The ribs here are best avoided -- but again, we probably don't like them because we don't care for their barbecue sauce. YMMV. As an aside, everyone in the family will appreciate something here. The burger is very, very good, especially for a restaurant that doesn't specialize in burgers. Order the waffle fries but beware, you'll get a lot. The cole slaw and macaroni salad used to be very good, but changed in the last 6 months. Avoid the regular fries -- go for onion rings instead. When I arrived at my scheduled pickup time, they were all ready to go. They seemed to handle this busy day of the year very well. The actual food was just okay. I like that they have a variety of sauces to choose from for the wings, but they aren't the greatest quality wings. I had also gotten sides of cole slaw which wasn't great cole slaw. Furthermore, for the amount of wings we had (25), the tiny dipping sauces (ranch and blue cheese) were way too small. Love this place. I'm here every so often to get some good wings and waffle fries. It's not a fancy place by any means, but you won't be disappointed if you come and pick up some food to bring home. There is indoor seating, but not a lot. It's more of a takeout place. The newington wings over is a regular spot for me and my wife. The only reason why this place doesn't get a five star rating from me is because the service fluctuations. Sometimes we get someone who doesn't know what's going on, and there were a few times the chicken was a little over cooked. However, considering all the times we've been here, those few times can be overlooked. My favorite is mustang ranch and Cajun BBQ. There buffalo sauces re pretty basic though, I never get those.
