The League Tavern is a gastropub…read more "Gastropub". That word is so 2010's. A decade ago calling yourself a "gastropub" was the coolest thing in the hospitality industry. Now, it is a lost artifact of another decade, along with Swedish House Mafia and Britney Spears. The League calls itself a retro reminder of the eating clubs of the 1920's and 1930's. It is pretty damm good as a gastropub. It would not really want to be an eating club of the Prohibition era. Menus in that era could be pretty awful. Mashed parsnips. Liver and onions. Greens that have been cooked to death. Tough steaks. Low quality lager beer. The Indian Puddings were all right. The fish was great if it was fresh. I wish they would bring back Welsh Rarebit. But the League sticks to a contemporary menu ... And I am glad they do. Their contemporary dishes are just great. I had a faro salad with grilled shrimp on top. The faro salad was everything I would want a grain salad to be. (I have had some awful tabboulehs and quinoa salads in my time.) The shrimp were completely lovely. Prices are high - but that is what comes with being a gastropub. The concept is: Pay more. Eat higher quality. The Lakeway market will certainly support the League in the prices it wants to charge. The selection on the menu - and for that matter the selection at the bar - is fairly restricted. Having a small menu is not a necessary correlate of being a gastropub. Some gastropubs offer you an expansive range of choices. But careful management of the menu choices means that each and every dish can be polished to a high degree of execution finesse. Practice makes perfect. My guess is that the League envisions itself as a neighborhood place - albeit a rich neighborhood place. Their customers are likely to be regulars. The regulars order their favorite dishes over and over. I myself like my bars and grills to be Cheaper, Funkier and With bigger selections on the menu and at the bar itself. So the League is not exactly my style. But what they do, they do well. They are expanding, opening more branches in more locations. They can do this because the League fills a real need in the Lakeway-Bee Cave market. If a Lakeway resident were to invite me to be their guest at the League Tavern, I would be happy to accept that invitation. Especially if they were picking up the check.

I placed macaroni and cheese and brussels sprouts in the cart. Placed the order. I got a text message and an email of my recipe. 11 minutes later I got a text saying that it was ready to pick up. I walked in to the restaurant. It wasn't very busy. I waited not even a minute when a nice women came up to me. She asked if I was picking up an order. I said yes. And said my name, I was trying to get to my text message with my receipt, she already had my bag and was walking back to me. Super quick service. By the time I got home, Urg, traffic on 620, seriously!! The food was warm/hot, so I heated it up for a couple minutes in the toaster oven. The macaroni is actually big shells, and I love that cause the cheese gets inside of the shell and it's cheesy gooey. Cheese was fantastic. Really enjoyed the Mac. Brussels sprouts I feel were just steamed. They didn't have that chard crispy outside. Just plan steamed sprouts. My small meal was delicious. Hoping to actually eat inside and have a cocktail.

I was humble by the friendliness in this restaurant. I didn't sat and ordered a mango beer my absolute favorite. I ordered the schnitzel which is a German dish absolutely out of this world delicious and they even serve it with some lemon that you can squeeze on top that gives it the flavor and the delicious taste of the crispiness on the top of the breaded chicken. The one thing I wanna stress is as you know the chicken wings is my absolute Favorite because it's not overwhelmed wit With noisy overdone seasonings and tons of barbecue which I do not like. Services top-notch very attentive I'm humbled and happy within great service I received today. If there's ever a problem they'll correct it immediately with no hesitation. I never had a problem here before Never had a problem here before and watch out for their specials too they do run special half off on happy hour chicken wings. Until next time!

Ordered the West Coast. Pizza had sun dried tomatoes. Artichoke, olives, and spinach. The crust was outstanding. Lightly golden and light crisp. I wanted to order wings, but they were out. So I got the mozzarella sticks instead. They were okay. The dinning area is nice. Their patio is epic. Really big, and the view is outstanding. I wish I knew of this place when it was a little warmer. That patio looks like the place to be in the spring, summer, and fall time. I we will be back for sure

I was very surprised by how small rhe place was when I walked in, but the staff by the bar were really friendly'. you do have to order up front at the registar, and they do have a big menu on the wall. I went with the chicken wings, I'm a bit of a chicken wing enthusiast and the wings were fantastic not too spicy, just perfect. I also had the chicken Alfredo and a Greek salad. Alfredo is definitely americanized but still really good and the Greek salad was huge even the small size. Overall, I was super happy with the meal the staff the food all of it period. Just note parking can be tight since it stays busy, but I went on a Sunday when it was calmer period I'll definitely be back! Happy yelping!

First and foremost I want everyone to understand that this is a franchise this is not a mom and pop…read moreshop. When I entered this is a establishment and a only not dining in but order out restaurant. It was very warm inside even though the weather of of course was very hot today. And I started looking through the menu and they're very expensive for what you get and they have very small portions for example a small Pizza that thin crust small pizza is 17.99. A large pizza is $30.99 and the extra large 18 inch is $41.99. Not very different and I would not understand why the prices are so steep and the food is so small. This is complete greed from this franchise I'll be honest I will never come back here when I took a bite of the chicken wings it was not cooked fully had to throw it away and you all know I lo bleeding in the center bad bad quality wings they were smothered and barbecue sauce and it looked like the barbecue sauce was bought on the shelf seriously ,it was that bad. I should have just taken the food back but I didn't I just kept it then threw it away. I just am very disappointed that I even came here to attempt to order food. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you want a pizza that has curry on it I could've put curry on my food if I wanted to but the steep price and you don't even dine in is something very up with this restaurant sorry to say I will not return. There was hardly no one in the restaurant when I came in and that told me a lot. There's plenty of parking to have handicapped parking Not friendly people especially when you're trying to order. They want you to hurry up in order pay them and they take your phone number down and then they will text you when you're food is ready which takes a long time even though they didn't have any orders. So that is my report and my review if you don't agree with me I'm sorry , but too bad so sad because that is the fact that is the truth. Shop around before you come here and if you're feeling wealthy ,come here and get little food for a lot of 'money. This is definitely a bad experience I will never come back here again.

We wanted pretty views (which, of course, we got), decent food, and a drink after being so disappointed by the couple of restaurants at The Oasis area. What we were met with exceeded our hopes. First, service. Boon was our server and we loved him. He was upbeat and friendly, got us everything we asked for, and great at upselling drinks without being pushy. The boy who sat us and was bussing tables was sweet as well. Second, food and drink. The jerk chicken plate was enough food to have leftovers and full of flavor. My husband got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was fried to absolute perfection. They also included a honey cinnamon butter that would put roadhouse to shame. The Mexican martini was yummy and strong. Lastly, ambiance. The place is a dive, but not in a bad way. In a comforting way. Did I see a guy not wearing shoes? Allegedly! I didn't even care because the vibes were good. Everyone was as easy going as the alternative rock pumping from a radio speaker in the corner. This was the kind of place I'd love to be a regular at. Beautiful, chill, friendly, affordable. I will be coming back.

I entered the restaurant and I was seated immediately through the host it was rather warm inside because it was a very hot day. I was seated and started to look through the menu. So the first thing I ordered was the basic Margarita on the rocks with salt around the rim. First entry was the regular Hamburger with cheese which in fact had a side of coleslaw which I ordered as a side dish. The hamburger itself had plenty of onions and just pickles tomatoes which was pretty large and the price was perfect this is what I loved about this place the prices are awesome. Today they had the all you can eat catfish. Who wouldn't want that the only problem is .. I was craving a 'hamburger and I also ordered a side dish, which was a Chicken Fried tenders with French fries I ordered the smaller version the child's plate and if you have children I totally recommend this cool, restaurant. Service was wonderful the waitress was very kind and always stop by my table was very attentive that was a major plus. They also had a new waiter who missed the mark never looked at my table because he was taking on the section. So I had to wave him down quite a few times just so he can give me some attention especially napkins they forgotten napkins when they serve me my dessert which was the bread pudding and ice cream it was absolutely delicious, really have to try this place because it is a very good restaurant number one " it is a little more pricey, than most because it's by the lake I assume you're paying for that and the views. The drinks were" okay I really wasn't thinking that my 'Margarita was anything but a Margarita and nothing special. But overall I really enjoyed my dinner here and people are very nice but because it's on the lake and we've had a high heat index here by the lake the restaurant is very warm. Next time I come back I hope the weather will be better and not too hot. So happy yelping I hope this review helps a lot of you who love to have dinner or even breakfast they even have breakfast here. I saw that on the menu I have to try that one of these days.I will be returning possibly the next 2 weeks so that I will be able to try the brunch or the other menu items.
