Oh my word! I'd never been to a Winn Dixie and I totally love it! The prices are good and they have most of what I want (I wish they had more variety of vegetables). But the people are nice, the hours are great, the store is stocked and the bathroom is clean. I have been here three times since I discovered them two weeks so. Since they have remodeled the store a couple of years ago, it's a pleasant to come here. It's so much cleaner and welcoming. Yes you will pay more than going down the highway to Wally World, but you don't have to deal with a crowded store and rude employees. The employees here are pleasant and willing to help. Also, every time I have been here, there is more than one register open. The store is properly stocked and a well displayed. They only drawback is the produce department. I seem to never been able to get green bananas. They are always over ripe. Normally if I need any produce, I have to pick thru it to find something that's not past it's prime. There is plenty of parking and easily to get in and out of the store. read more

This is where I go instead of Walmart these days. They are a bit more expensive, but I get it back in fuel perks anyways! It's 10x easier to get someone to help you unlike Walmart. Also the workers are so much nicer! I have a pet tortoise who only eats kale and collard greens. I look for the freshest of these because it takes him a while to eat them and they go bad. The people at this Winn Dixie are always happy to get some out of the back so that I can find the best one for my beloved tortoise! It's things like this that will keep me coming back. And they have excellent boiled shrimp and great deals on 12 pk diet cokes. Those are two of my favorite things. read more

I rarely go in here but it's one of the few choices in Luling. I don't know how old it is, but it's a bit shabby. It's set up like your average Winn Dixie, but the lights are dim, and it makes it feel less than clean. There is a weird smell like old freezers. UNLESS, they are cooking crawfish then it smells like old freezer and crawfish. I have never had any real problems in here, and no real complaints, just the general feeling of lack of cleanliness that permeates the store. read more

I have been shopping here for 20 years, and I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten strawberries that have molded (you couldn't see it until it was opened) or even other items that were moldy (from the fruit dept). I cannot tell you how frustrating it has been with the limitations on choices on items in that it seems Winn-Dixie (corporate) is trying to take away choices and is selling its own replacement products, which are not as good (Vanilla wafers, etc.). And while we appreciate the recycling bin out front, when I called to inquire about what type of plastics it takes, I got the answer from the Manager (Marty), "It takes plastic bags and things." I explained to Marty that sometimes there are restrictions on the types of plastic accepted by the recycler and I was told it was sent to the distribution center and he has the number (it is not public) and while only he could call it, it just wasn't that important for him to do so (he didn't say it in these words, he just kept saying "give us your plastic we'll send it on.") When I pressed about contacting the distribution center and getting that info, he passed. Thank you Winn Dixie for providing this service, but I spend a lot of time cleaning and prepping my recyclables and I don't want it just tossed back into the garbage. To St. Charles Parish, I think we need curbside recycling. We are far too lovely of a parish to be outdone by Orleans and Jefferson, and having your residents drive 10+ miles to and from where we have to drop off our recyclables is not providing a service, especially in light of what we already pay for trash pick up. This is a subject I will be addressing with the council. But for now, back to Winn-Dixie ... it's great you are providing this service, but it would be even better if you provided better information AND gave us some choices as to what we can buy when we visit your store. So, for now, I will visit the Winn-Dixie and Rouse's in Metairie. Oh and good job on the upgrade. Can you tell me why you increased the liquor section, decreased our choices AND moved everything around so now no one can find anything. And, honestly, are we the stepchildren of Winn-Dixie because you have little competition? The updated Winn-Dixie's in Metairie and New Orleans were done very well and their choices are amazing. Stopped in to pick up ground beef on my way to a friends house at a Mobile , AL Winn Dixie. $23.74 for 5.49 lbs of 80/20 which was little over $25.00 after check out. Walking to the car i read the receipt which said i could have saved over $10.00 by using the "saver card". Turned around and went to customer service and asked for a refund. The young lady who actually checked me out five minutes earlier said she could scan the "courtesy card" so i could receive the benefit but i declined. The refund went smooth. Winn Dixie: The fact that you purposely charge "drop in customers" that much more than regular customers is quite possible why you entire business model struggles the way it does. I will not under any circumstance do business with a company that promotes that level of bigotry with its overall customer base. read more
