We were in town for some other things and decided to come here to watch and bet on the The Preakness race. This is an off track betting facility that offers sports betting on horse racing and other sporting events. They have many machines to place bets yourself, and you can also place a bet with a teller. They also have a bar and restaurant to order food. We had chicken wings and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. They both tasted good. One suggestion would be to give small plates to those ordering appetizers.

This place is a different type of place. It is part restaurant, part bar, part gambling joint. With it being a gambling joint it is 21 and up. We just went there for the restaurant part because most of the other places were packed because of the teachers protest that day. It was not very busy in there. At least for food. They have typical pub food, burgers, fries, tacos.... The food was "OK", my food was cool by the time it got to me, but it did take a while for us to get our food. This was my first time here, after passing it many times. I was so unimpressed. The bar or gambling part may be better, but I was not able to experience those, so my review is only for the food. They have a secret squirrel VIP room to the left behind some glass doors when you enter. Not sure of the requirements to get in, just know that I did not meet them, whatever they were. If you don't mind eating your food while having a parade of characters passing you to get in line and place their bet then this place is for you.

From Pittsburgh, PA, where the kind of betting that happens here isn't legal. I walked in not knowing what to expect, and was met with enthusiasm and kindness by the staff. Wasn't busy, and the kitchen had just closed, but I was only here while I waited 45 minutes for a deep dish pizza. Bar is nice, casino-y (yes, I just made that up.) and spacious.

Winners Circle isnt exactly somewhere you'd go for date night. As the other reviews say, their beer is one of the cheapest downtown, but NOT anymore!!They raised the prices! Tall domestics used to be $3 and now they're $5. Totally understand raising them with COVID and losing business, but personally I only went here for the cheap beer, like a lot of other people. I don't think this place is very clean (smells like smoke too), and usually I get harassed by other older men in here (most of their clientele). Absolutely love the bartenders and servers here, theyre always great. The food is good if you want something greasy. Unfortunately probably won't be visiting much anymore. Maybe check it out once and see for yourself?

I love this place. Not to many times can you find an OTB that is clean and serves really good food. It was packed and the manager for sure had this place under staffed. Not sure what that older gentleman was doing behind the bar other than nothing. But the girls worked hard and fought through it. Good spot. I had the wings which are solid looking forward to more food the next time I come back.

Do they sell Kentucky derby program the day before?

Not exactly--They will have the form that evening but not the official Derby program. I find the official program at downtown hotels the night before. Some liquor stores carry them such as Evergreen Liquors in Middletown.

They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

We complimented it, asked where they found it, and before we knew it, we were chatting with a wonderful couple who had traveled all the way from overseas just to watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever play that night. Moments like that are one of the reasons I love Indianapolis on game days. The patio was the perfect place to soak it all in. Fever fans filled the sidewalks, kids proudly carried homemade signs, and there was an excitement in the air that only comes from a city rallying behind its team. We could have people-watched for hours. Our waitress was exactly what every server should strive to be. Friendly, relaxed, and genuinely fun to talk to, she somehow mastered the art of appearing right before we found ourselves looking around for her. We never felt rushed, but we also never waited for anything. The food held up its end of the bargain too. The fried mozzarella disappeared embarrassingly fast and earned a solid 9.3 on my unofficial stretch meter. Crispy on the outside, perfectly gooey inside, with a marinara sauce that was every bit as good as the cheese itself. The chef salad was fresh, generously loaded with toppings, and easily big enough for a meal. I honestly couldn't tell you what beer I ordered... Because what I remember most is the experience. Sharing appetizers on a sunny patio, meeting fellow basketball fans from halfway around the world, and watching Indianapolis come alive before tipoff. It reminded me that sports have a funny way of turning complete strangers into friends. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're headed to Gainbridge.

Our server was friendly and responsive to one member of our group (male) but repeatedly didn't acknowledge another (female). This wasn't a one-time thing, it happened several times over the course of our visit, and it came across as dismissive. As for the drinks: beer prices were nice and cheap, but the margarita was on the expensive side and not really worth it. The place seems geared toward bigger dinner crowds, which may be why a two-person drinks-only table didn't get much attention, but being essentially ignored isn't a great look either way. We wouldn't return. 2/5.
