I have to start by saying I have been going to Winnie for quite some time. She is very accommodating and she keeps you abreast if she will be late or you need to change a date or time. I know businesses are trying to recoup money lost, but I am being charged more and the hairstyle is worse. The front braids always are on point, but the back braids are bigger with crooked parts. She is very friendly and nice to talk to but I need my hair to match what I paid for and it doesn't. If you ask for a pic, that to me indicates you can look at the pic and reproduce the style. Lastly, within days my hair had the frizzies and it is because she did not put gel on the hair as she has done in the past. I believe that will be my last time going there. For my last visit I give 2 stars because after all the money I paid my hair needs to be redone after just a few days. read more

Have been a long-time customer here! Winnie (the owner), is very friendly, warm and gracious spirit. You can bring her a picture of any hair style you want done, and she will do it perfectly! Both of my children have had their hair done here in multiple styles: crochet braids, box braids, feeder braids, goddess locs, goddess braids, lemonade braids, single faux locals crochet (the Jazz Nicole Method), havana twists and each time they have received numerous compliments on their hair.. The best part, when it is time to take your hair out, you still have your edges (ladies, you know what I'm talking about! Lol)! She doesn't do your hair so tight that you need the assistance of aspirin to get through the day, but firm enough that you know it will last and look beautiful. I booked 2 appointments with her about 3 months ago and when we got there Winnie was not there. She had a braider there that did not know how to do the style we wanted. She can only do twist and box braids. I let my daughter get her hair done. It was just ok. When we came foe the 2nd appt, the next week, we were faced with the same thing. So I let my other daughter get her hair braided. I just booked 3 appts for myself and 2 daughters, 2 weeks ago. After booking I got a message from Winnie stating that I needed to pay $25 deposit for each. I told her that I wouldn't be able to pay that and that she could cancel the appts, however she worked with me and told me to let her know if anything comes up. Well, because of the last experience, I texted her the day before to make sure everything was good. She said she had a family emergency and the girl that does twist and box braids would be there. I told her we booked 2 knotless appts and 1 feed in appt and that we didn't want box braids and to please cancel. I am overly pissed. We are going out of town and now we don't have our hair done. It's so hard to find reliable braiders. Steer clear if you like/need reliability!!! read more

My mini twist always come out on point. HOWEVER, if you are a natural head like myself, I would highly recommend that you go there with your hair fully detangled and stretched to your liking. I would suggest that you be very direct about what you want done to your hair. For example, on my first visit I told them that I wanted mini twist done on my natural hair.. Prior to my arrival, I blew out and detangled my own hair however, when I got there the lady blew my hair out so more.. which I didn't really like but I was too nervous to me that direct. On my second visit I definitely made sure to tell them that I did not want my hair blown out anymore than it already is.. and the stylist respected that BUT I didn't like that fact that she tried to come out my four braids with a rat tail comb.. She was basically detangling hair that I had already detangled and braided up into four sections , but she was detangling my hair with a rat tail comb .. I have 4C hair .. she was literally pulling my hair out without one care or concern. I of course stopped her after the first 4 strokes but it still was a traumatic moment for me.. I think I was most afraid of the fact that she thought detangling DRY 4C hair with a Rat-tail comb was a good idea.. or maybe she just didn't care. Some stylish just do whatever it takes to achieve a style without regarding the actual care of your hair.. That was definitely the vibe that I got from her but hey you get what you pay for. All in all , go there prepared, be direct , be alert and you shall leave content. read more
