Parking is easy and ample in the lot. The waiting area is a bit dated but functional Cayley at the front reception was extremely brittle to start and when I didn't have my insurance card, (as this was a unexpected emergency visit) but did have a scan of it on my phone, she became icy and clipped. It was an extremely unpleasant way to begin my visit and I nearly left based on her snarky behavior. One star. Fortunately things improved. Tech Shawn was so thorough and kind. He put me at ease and warmed my heart with his gentle nature. He let me know why he was doing all the checks and what to expect next. 5 stars Upon seeing her, about 50 minutes after my initial entry and preliminary exams, Dr. Kurzon was insightful and recommended a medication for eyelid that is new and could make a huge difference for my eye health. She departed the room a bit abruptly and another tech came in to lay out the tools for Dr. Kurzon to perform an in office procedure on my eye. 5 stars. I then waited for the doctor to come back, about 15 minutes. She did the procedure, then let me know verbally what I'd need to do the rest of the day and for about a week, plus pickup prescription at the drugstore. I wish it had been given to me in writing, as I was pretty anxious at the time. 4 stars. Checkout was clipped and professional. 4 stars. Dr Kurzon . Very unprofessional..... The worst. My wife went for exam... cataracts........ Told she needs both lens replaced. After the exam the Dr would not even meet with us and discuss..... Sent her assistant, very unprofessional .. spoke too fast, hard to understand.... .....who tried to push us into most expensive choice, two multi lenses....without any consultation ..... We later concluded she does not need, ....not just about cost, but not best for other reasons...... Dr would not meet with us to discuss......My 85 year old wife asked for a glass of water,.... she wouldn't get it for her!. ...I said. "I don't like this, I don't like you" . We're going somewhere else........ She said " I don't care if you like me." ...... I was referred to this doctor after seeing my PCP and she being able to get me in on a same day appointment. I had a horrible episode last week with my eye swelling and losing partial vision. After seeing a new eye doctor last week that was wonderful my PCP wanted me to see a specialist asap. Upon entering, no one was friendly and they made me feel like I was an inconvenience. The only friendly person working there was a gentleman that did my intake questions and testing prior to seeing the doctor. It didn't even seem like the staff was nice to each other. Upon seeing the doctor she was very dismissive and condescending. She was pretty much gaslighting me and then told me if my symptoms came back she wanted to see them as if she didn't believe me. After such a scary and painful experience last week this office and doctor was such a disappointment and giant waste of time. I had a one o'clock appointment and was not seen until after 2. I was due for my annual eye exam and they billed this as a medical visit. I have a vision plan through my employer with Eyemed. They sent me a bill in the mail instead of properly running it through my vision plan. If you discuss any symptoms such as "allergies" as the receptionist mentioned they will bill this through your medical insurance and you will have to pay out of pocket unless you have met your medical deductible. was told that I needed cataract surgery and Dr Kurzon sail that due to astigmatism there was no other choice but this certain lens. -2,900 for each eye and insurance did not cover. decided to visit Filutowski Eye Instatute and had same exam and was also told I needed surgery. the difference is that I could get surgery and use less costly lens but I may have to wear readers. the cost is 300 per eye. what a difference. I have gone to Dr. Kurzon for several years. My cataract surgery went well. At my last exam she recommended blepharoplasty. It has been a long month - short story, one eye is coming along. The other eye is a disaster. She prescribed antibiotic ointment I was allergic to (she knew that) and my eyelids peeled from the reaction. The stitches came out the FIRST NIGHT while I was sleeping. Now I have a 1/2-inch gap where my eyelid should be. I have raw tissue exposed. It is hideous. It will be a long time until my eyelid heals, if ever. At my last visit her response was indifferent and condescending. Her "minion" briefed her that I was upset. She didn't call me back until 45 minutes after my appointment time. She said my stitches came out because "I raise my eyebrows when I speak". NO! she didn't knot the stitches correctly. I am disgusted, disappointed and angry! Such a betrayal. Find a different doctor rather than take a chance with her. Own your mistakes and correct them. read more

I have to start by saying that working here has truly been an experience. The doctor is great and the 2 other employees in the office as well. I started working here about 4 weeks ago, although the doctor is great at what she does, unfortunately the office manager is so entitled and unprofessional. Today she has fired me because I was not one to tolerate her disrespect. No one should . Over the course of the few weeks I worked there I had very little, to no training due to insufficient employees, Which lead to the front desk girl who was training me also working patients up, running exams, booking surgeries and taking on some of the administrators work. I honestly Pray they pay her what she deserves. But anyway Keep in mind the administrator hired me knowing I had little to no experience on running insurances and booking surgeries. I've always been a technician. I've worked in New York ophthalmology for 4 years as a technician/scribe. With that being said the reason Ms. Desiree Johnson had to fire me was because while I was trying to wing booking a surgery with the patient Infront of me without proper training, Ms desiree ask me for a booking sheet which I've only seen once or twice but never actually used it. I respond "I don't know where they are I don't use them" she responds "well you need to" I say " with proper training I will. She then goes on to tell me while the patient is right in front of us for me to not give her attitude when in no shape or form I gave her attitude. I wait for her to continue with the patient and as soon as the patient walks away I tell her to please not talk to me like that because I did not give her attitude. I must of broke her soul or I must of been the only person in a long time to stand up to her because her only option was to fire me. To be honest it was a relief, I've heard the atrocities she says about patients who pay so much money to see Dr.Kurzon how could I expect more for me. with that being said I forgive her, and she truly did me a favor. On my termination letter she even had to lie about me being a liability to the practice just to validate her personal feeling towards me. God has a greater purpose for me. Do not go to this business! Although the Dr seems nice the ophthalmology staff does not know what they are doing. I have never worn glasses before (other than over the counter readers). I went here and had an eye exam and they suggested I get progressive glasses. I bought both glasses and sunglasses and spent over $900 out of pocket in addition to my insurance.I went back on 3 separate occasions telling them I couldn't read or see my computer at all. The distance was just OK. They changed the lenses once which did not help. On my last visit the woman told me I "had to work harder" to get used to them. I've been experiencing headaces and blurred vision but kept "trying" because that is what they said. I finally went to another Dr who said immediately upon examining my eyes that I was severely over corrected. He gave me the correct contacts as well as glasses and everything is perfect. I called them and asked for a refund and said I would gladly return the glasses. They refused because I was past their 90 day policy. I explained that never having worn glasses before and repeatedly being told I had to try harder is what got me past the 90 days. They refused to do the right thing. I am giving this practice 2 stars just because Dr. Kurzon itself seems a very nice person and seems very professional, even though her staff is pretty rude and nothing careful about the patients. I had an appointment for 2 tests and 1 procedure, after waiting 35 minutes the nurse said that she was getting the insurance authorization that's why it was taking so long. Then, after 50 minutes she finally got the authorization. When they finished the 2 test and was the time for the procedure... the Dr. Kurzon could not perform it because the assistant did not get the authorization for that procedure (just because she forgot it). Then they try to get the authorization but they couldn't do it. So after 2 hours there (where I was in company of my 6 months old baby and my teenager boy) they say that how I will have to come back for the following check out (related with the 2 test), I will get the procedure. So now I have to come back and pay the copay for the procedure because of the lack of responsibility of her staff. I have not received any apologize for the inconvenience though. Ohhh... almost forget this, I am not American so I am struggling with the English (speaking mostly), however, I understand everything in English, so when I was trying to explain her the website their have provided me to see my medical records had an issue and I could not register me. She said "I will reset your registration. I couldn't tell you what YOU did wrong because it doesn't show it, so your next visit we are going to ask for the IT people and they could help you with the registration". So accordin to her I did wrong!... when even I couldn't do the registration... also she was speaking like I was a person with mental delays... (even more rude). I just telling you'll you are paying for a service that you expect to be excellent and respectful . It is not for free (at least not in my case). I have been seeing Dr. Kurzon for several years now. She has performed two cataract surgeries (both eyes) on me and my vision has been 20-20 since the surgeries. Actually at times my readings have been slightly better at 20-15. She is a top-notch professional from my experience. I see some Yelp ratings showing some problems people experienced with the staff. These may be accurate but probably are about her old staff. I had my annual appointment today and asked Dr. Kurzon about what I saw on Yelp. She said there had been some staff problems and she had pretty much "cleaned house" due to those problems. Not sure of the time frame of the staff change.The staff today was very courteous and business-like. I did not recognize any of her old staff from my previous visits. My first visit last year indicated something was not quite right with this business. I like Rebecca Kurzon but the front desk girl and the girl doing my eye evaluation were not very cordial. The one doing my evaluation seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Upon getting my prescription for glasses I took it to have new glasses made. They caught that the prescription"Add" was double what it should be for computer glasses. Looks like a copy/paste error of my spectacles prescription. The office was called and corrected this over the phone. Returning a year later to give them another chance I arrived at my appointment time. I learned while sitting there for 45 minutes that 2 others had the same appointment time even though there is only one tech. The clincher was a lady walking and and them taking her ahead of me after waiting for 45 minutes. I told the front desk that I had waited long enough and was leaving. The office manager called later and in a cursory manner apologized. She wanted to reschedule me but I told her the reason I left and rescheduling was not going to be necessary. One other couple left about 10 minutes after I first arrived so that makes two of us today. Be aware of this business. I hope Rebecca can find some help that demonstrates value towards their patients with a much more pleasing attitude than they currently demonstrate. read more
