I had to cancel my appointment due to the flu, and since then I've been unable to get in touch with anyone to reschedule and begin my Invisalign treatment, which was supposed to start last week. Wearing braces as an adult is not ideal, BUT Dr. Chris and the staff really make the experience worth it. The front desk staff is always pleasant. Dr. Chris and his techs make it look easy in how they are able to get you in and out as quickly as they can. Carrie has been my most recent tech and I can't say enough about her. She always lets me know what's going on and keeps me informed. I'm a huge fan of Robbie in the financial department. She really goes above and beyond when it comes to working with you. I recently went in to find out about Invisalign braces. They told me I was a candidate, and then tried to charge me $7900. I went to Ortho 360 the next week (a premier provider of Invisalign, according to the Invisalign website, where Dr. Farrah is not even mentioned...) and they gave me a price of $3030. If you look up average prices for Invisalign in Austin, it's about $3000. Charging clients $8000 is a complete rip off!! When I called to complain to them the next day, they had no excuse as to why they had given me such a high price. They just kept repeating "we are unfamiliar with the quality that other orthos in Austin provide...." read more

This is a WARNING not a recommendation! " I thought Dr Farrah and her team were supportive and REAL! While all along offered FAKE SUPPORT! After keeping the office abreast of extremely personal situations, I was called me in for a consultation and informed me that my son's braces had to be removed OR pay 200$ a month for the next 9 months because he was past 2 years of treatment! This consultation lasted almost an hour. The office was paid 4500$ for the braces!!! So much for understanding and REAL CONCERN!! In my opinion this office is ALL about making money..... I had a great experience with Dr. Farrah's office before I even went in... This morning, my permanent retainer wire (which I've had for 5 years) broke loose while flossing my teeth. I was panicking and (hopefully) in paranoia, deluding myself that I could already feel my teeth moving :) So I called to two nearest orthodontists, including Dr. Farrah's office, to ask about quickest appointment times as well as potential cost to re-attach the retainer. The other office said, and I quote, "It'll be somewhere between $175 for the office visit, and $1250 with everything". The receptionist didn't bother to ask me any kind of questions about how bad the retainer's condition was, and I don't know about you, but somewhere between &175, and $1250 is a pretty big price range! Dr. Agahi's receptionist, Amanda, on the other hand, not only took the time to find out the extent of the damage (it was only loose on one end), but then took the time to do a cost breakdown for me... Explaning that most likely they'd be able to just cement it back in at [x] cost, but just so I was aware, there's a small possibility that the wire's damaged, but its not likely, but just in case, the cost would be [2x]. I definitely appreciate the level of detail and clarity that Amanda provided me right off the bat, makes me feel a lot more comfortable coming in to get my work done :) read more

Today though, Robbie (an excellent financial coordinator there) walked me through an insurance situation I was confused about and got me to a place of total understanding and happiness. Dr Farrah Agahi's office is okay, as many have noted, most of the staff is actually quite good. BUT... this breaks down when dealing with Farrah herself, who isn't good at answering questions, and skimps on details. This makes the treatment plan sound vague too, or even untailored to the patient. Several patients have reported problems with surprise extra charges, like after the initial payment plan ends, or treatment being cut off before it's complete. Unlike the rank-and-file staff who does most of the orthodontics work, who seem positive, helpful, and caring, Dr Agahi's financial folks comes off as ruthless and greedy, playing fast and loose with the patient's treatment contract. This office is fine for basic work, where you'd be dealing mostly with the staff and not with Dr Agahi, but if your mouth needs the best, you might want to look somewhere else. read more

This is the best orthodontist office in Austin for many reasons! I am now in my 5th month of Invisalign. When I finally decided to do this, (I'm a bit older) I made my appointment and went in. Dr. Nelson, whom I've known for 20 years originally owned the office in Four Points/Riverplace . When I went in and he told me he was retiring, I wanted to run out the door and forget about Invisalign. He assured me he would have never left his practice and patients unless he trusted who was taking over. I was like yeah right and still wanted to run out the door. I am VERY happy I stayed because the service I have received from Wired Orthodontics, especially Dr. Chris and Kristy Mroski are awesome! They ALWAYS go above and beyond. Kristy answered it seemed like a million questions before I made my decision and always with a good, positive attitude and in a timely manner. After I got Invisalign she was still there for more questions and always made me feel welcome and never like I was bothering her, she was so supportive! She even checked on ME! Dr. Chris has been right there too. Before I got Invisalign, one of the questions I asked was since I'm older and have some old fillings and crowns, will you be there for the entire journey and not just until I get them? He said absolutely. And you know what, he has been! My former dentist (Bowcutt Dental) told me he would be there too, well he wasn't, the first issue I had with a crown, they weren't there. Dr. Chris got on the phone to talk me thru the process and always made time and room for me. Can't finish this without giving kudos to the entire office staff because they always make you feel like you are their only patient and greet you by name, never rush you and run on time for their appointments! We LOVED this office BUT THAT WAS BEFORE DR CHRIS CAME IN and the whole atmosphere and professionalism of the place CHANGED. The office went from professional to petty. Great care turned to unbelievably long appointments with problems; patients were even "accidentally" privy to catty remarks and office gossip made by the new unprofessional staff members who boldly shared their grievances in front of patients. The usually outstanding, caring staff began to be overtaken with rude, disconnected employees. Eventually there were scheduling issues,as well as payment and insurance issues and it was obvious that the employees were as unhappy as the clients. It was no longer a pleasure to walk in the door, but a black spot on the day when we had an appt. We are SO HAPPY that DR FARRAH LEFT AND OPENED HER OWN PRACTICE AGAIN IN PFLUGERVILLE. There you will find the professional, kind, caring, and attentive office and wonderful staff that make Dr Farrah a favorite!! My recent experience with Dr. Agahi and her office was very disappointing for me and traumatic for my 7 year old. I have never dealt with a medical/dental office that is so unprofessional. It is clear that Dr. Agahi's priority is not patient care. My son started treatment for an under bite in early May. He was fitted with an expander (it hurt and he cried, but I understand orthodontic treatment is not fun) and we were to return in 3 weeks for our next visit (during this time I was to crank they his retainer 2x a day to expand his upper jaw). Well, within 2 days we were back. They had failed to adjust one of the wires and it had started to cut the inside of his upper lip. They fixed that. Ok, that wasn't a big deal I thought. Then a week later the right side of the expander popped out off his molar. Back we go to Dr. Agahi's office. They remove it and re-inserted it (more crying and lots of blood). One week later, it popped out again. This time they removed it, made another mold of his teeth, made a new expander and inserted it (lots of tears again). Within 2 days I notice my child is not eating much. I look in his mouth and the new expander has completely cut the inside of his right cheek. I immediately take him back in and they admit that in making the new expander, they had failed to sand down some rough spots. They offered to remove it and sand it down. At this point, I resisted. I could not put my child through another round of painful appliance insertion. So they sanded it down while it was still in his mouth and said to rinse with salt water to heal the wounds. 2 days later my son has completely stopped eating and would shake in pain when brushing his teeth. I look in his mouth and the cuts are worse. We go back and I told them it was time to stop treatment - I had this exact treatment as a child myself so I know that an expander should not cause this many problems. So they told me then the other option is surgery when he becomes a teenager. I said no, we will be going elsewhere for treatment. I want to point out that throughout this month-long ordeal, Dr. Agahi never once worked on my child's teeth. The work is all done by assistants, which is fine if things are going smoothly, but because there were so many problems, Dr. Agahi should have stepped in. That never happened. And the expander they removed? There was a sharp piece of metal sticking out the back of it. I don't know how the lab person could have miss that. Is there no inspection or quality assurance process? I am now in the process of figuring out the money side of things and getting a copy of my child's dental records, but not surprisingly, they are giving me the run around and are charging me $900 for services rendered. Seriously?! $900 for defective expanders, sub-par service and a lot of pain does not seem fair to me. I understand services were rendered and I'm happy to pay a fair charge, but $900 seems extreme. It's been 2 weeks since I put in my request for dental records and an itemized statement of charges and they have yet to produce anything. I am ready to involve lawyers, but are giving them one last chance to do the right thing. I also want to point out that their office is closed Fridays, except for emergencies, closed every other Monday and closed some Wednesdays as well. Bottom line: unless you are a patient needing just routine braces and don't expect a lot from your orthodontist (pretty much never see her again after the initial consults), then I would recommend going elsewhere for your orthodontic needs. It seems many have been happy with Dr. Agahi's office and I may be one of the rare cases, but really, why take that chance? read more

Our son has been a patient of Dr. Agahi's for the past 3 years. I wish I had read reviews here first. She and her staff have treated my son and our family very poorly. I get the feeling the only thing they care about is the almighty dollar - not the patients. It's an orthodontic impersonal assembly line. The office is full of gimics to make it fun for kids, but it's all fluff with no substance - just to draw the customers in. If you do decide to go here for a quote I highly recommend you get quotes from at least 1 other orthodontist. Beware that if treatment takes longer than expected they will try and get more money out of you one way or another. read more

I have taken my daughter to Dr. Chris for 14 months, she absolutely loves all the staff and everyone is so friendly. My main concern when we first started the process was my daughter needing extractions. Dr. Chris did all he could but she simply had too many teeth for that little mouth. My daughter had been with Dr. Farrah on and off for treatment for more than 5 years and when she sold her practice we were never notified and my daughter was in the middle of having braces! LUCKILY when we were 'orphaned' with Dr. Chris, he took wonderful care of her and the staff couldn't have been better. I would NOT waste your time going here!! The prices that Dr. Farrah and Dr. Chris charge are overpriced!! Would recommend second options and if thinking of going here for a second option don't waste your time. They have a constant change in doctors as well as employees, that must say something about them. I wouldn't mind the two, wait three doctors if they at least had same treatment plan. They all say something different, and contradicts what one has already said, causing treatment time and price to change throughout the "braces". The assistants are always changing and we always seem to have one on "their 1st day/ 1st week, just started, etc." One assistant has seen my child more then once and both of those times said hygiene needed improvement yet BOTH times her breath was horrible, even with her face mask on!! How can she tell me child to work on their hygiene when she has horrible breath? This office is unprofessional and every visit is getting worse, newest doctor, Dr. Chris, is very self absorbed and only wanted to talk about himself. We didn't pay your overpriced fees to hear your life story!! We have two other children that have gotten braces at another orthodontic office and wish we could switch our eldest over. Unfortunately we can't without huge fees etc. So stuck with our bad decision and will have to have out child finish with Dr. Farrah and Dr. Chris but I would not ever recommend them even to my worst enemy! read more
