Can someone say CROOK?! worst customer service when things go wrong. Can't believe I was dumb enough to go back after 5 years ago when they omitted to tell me I had insurance on my broken phone and could get it replaced - instead tried to sell me a new one. Went to a real Verizon store at Mall who gave me legit info and was able to get my replacement covered under insurance. This time went there b/c we live locally and thought it would expedite things. 1 worker. We waited over an hour for the 1 person ahead of us ( who had to leave and come back b/c her phone update was still not ready) Courteous and friendly when selling a new phone. I also bought a 5G hotspot that I need for work. Was a dud. ( Verizon customer svc determined After extensive amt of time on phone troubleshooting) left notation on my account that "dead on arrival - needs replacement since within 30days" To facilitate when I got to the store). 1st day I attempted to return it to New Providence- rep said had no idea what I was talking about. after troubleshooting again - told come back when manager there. 2nd day - ( I sent my husband) he came back miffed that manager tried to say I used all my data. Wanted me to buy more. After arduous checking again, and admitting was a defective unit they sold me, assured my husband for all our troubles, was giving us " the newest and better MiFi at no add'l charge promising it was 5G". When we opened it, it was an Orbic 4G LTE, cost $49. He tried to swap after I paid $399 for a TCL 5G. We will head back today- day 3 and see what he says now. Don't know how owner sleeps at night. I was delighted with the service I received at this Verizon Wireless One Location. You would think that the online offers from Verizon would be the same as their Short Hills Location and this location. They weren't! This location saved us SEVERAL HUNDRED a dollars! Went in about two months back due to a frozen phone, sat for some time waiting for someone to take a look, an employee then met with me, took a look at my phone and told me it should be a simple fix and to come back in about an hour. Did not give me an estimate or any sort of info but I brushed this off because it seemed like a simple issue and was assured that it was "a simple fix", my screen was just frozen. I come back, an hour later, and was greeted with a $200 charge. I was told my phone needed "new software" which is nonsense. I was never given a quote or even a rough estimate. The employee trying to pick the $200 out of my pocket claimed that I was given a quote, I was not, I know I was not. We argued for a few minutes and he eventually ended up charging me $100, for a frozen phone screen..... The same exact thing happened a few days later and one of my tech savy friends fixed it in under 15 seconds with zero tools or a computer..... These people are thieves, do not go anywhere near this store. I was prompted to right a review after two months because a very similar thing just happened to a friend of mine. Came in for for a simple fix, was not given a quote, then charged a few hundred dollars after the "fix" with zero notice. Stay. Away. read more

I went into this store with a texting problem. The salesman said my phone was damaged and I needed to buy a new phone. Since I didn't trust his evaluation of my problem, I went to the other Verizon store nearby who said it was a simple fix and just to call technical support for a reset. A quick call and my phone was fixed and I certainly did not need to buy a new phone. Don't give this store your business. They are very shady. read more

RUN!! Just run away from this place. Totally dishonest. Not trustworthy. Bought a new phone, they tried to charge me $250 for the promotion on the phone. Apparently, they don't realize that a promo helps the customer, not the store. I refused to pay and they withdrew the charge and nothing changed on my monthly bill. Totally shady. They have no prices on accessories (screen protectors, phone cases), they seem to just make it up as they go. Will never go back. read more

They provide misleading information over the phone to get you into the store. First of all, outside the store, its not clear whether this is a Verizon Wireless Store or not. When I called twice to ask if they have the iphone 6 in stock, they said Yes, but I need to come in QUICK. So I get there, and there is just 1-2 customers. Then the salesperson conveniently goes on to tell me (after asking for my phone number and social), that "I should have mentioned you needed to buy a minimum of 3 accessories". Given that he brought it up immediately, its quite clear he knew exactly what information he had withheld and had done so on purpose. Quite dishonest, misleading, taking private information, when they know quite well that most people will walk out. Never again. read more

Anna K: experienced a shocking service - unprofessional, rude, might be even fraudulent. I came to the store to buy "the cheapest phone" in order to keep an additional phone line active. Was told that the cheapest was $14.99. It was a flip-flop phone from the previous century. I was sure that price was right. I haven't checked my Verizon bills until a 14 months later i discovered that the rep added $200 financing for that phone to my account without 1. Disclosing the full price of the phone at time of purchase. 2. Offering an option to pay the full price at the store instead of financing (I would have never bought an outdated phone for $200 3. Asking my permission to add financing. When I came to the store to resolve the issue, the manager was not able to answer any of those questions and was trying to convince me that I got a great deal. read more

Always try to support local business. But do yourself a favor and go to an actual Verizon store. Walked in store which was empty. There was a rep talking on the phone, walked into back (as he did not want to end his conversation) to have another rep attend to us who had his mouth full of food as he asked what we needed. Terrible experience with this store very dishonest, charged me $40 activation fee for upgrading my phone, was told by Verizon customer service that activation fee should only be charged when adding another line. They also added $13 a month on to my bill for insurance which I never authorized furthermore he offered me a $15 screensaver in exchange for the trade in of my old phone!!!! I declined, he later decided to offer me $60 for it, I declined at which point he started to get a bit irate and asked why I didn't want to turn it in (the truth is something in the back of my head kept telling me don't trust this person) you have been warned! read more

NO STARS REALLY. I will start with smallest problem. The "shatterproof" screen that Anthony suggested and sold me cracked on day three when I inadvertently caught my nail under the screen next to the Home button. Slight crack but still I would have expected an easy return since the packaging for the "shatterproof" screen has a depiction of a hammer hitting the phone. No. Anthony standing up for the product's integrity not customer satisfaction. The BIG problem: he told us we could do an even swap if I traded in my old 6S for a new one. We did. He neglected to mention an upgrade fee but worse when we got our bill there was a charge of over $800 for the new phone! We went back and he denied he said anything like that and I'm now wondering what he did with my old phone since he charged us full price for the new one. We are not done with this fraudulent transaction and dishonest store. We have called Verizon and they have already refunded the upgrade fee he neglected to mention. read more

I am so thankful for the new manager and the stellar team at this location! The previous manager sold my senior-citizen father and mother two Samsung Galaxy S3s instead of the iPhone 6 that they requested. When my father went back a few days later to complain, that manager was no longer employed there. After some discussions, I was very pleased to hear today that both my parents were upgraded to the iPhone 6 at very minimal costs, and they were able to return the unwanted Samsung S3's. Thank you for taking good care of my family! Wishing you much success at the New Providence location at South St/Springfield Ave. If you continue to treat your customers this well, I'm sure you'll enjoy continued success at this location. read more

The store manager at this Verizon store is rude and arrogant. He sold a memory card to a lovely caregiver for my mother. The card was opened in the store and improperly placed in her phone. The card was not activated and we took it to another store to have this verified. The manger lied and said the card had been activated and would not refund the woman. My advice go somewhere else to buy Verizon products. read more

This establishment is terrible. If I could I would give it negative stars. I bought a phone there and paid for it upfront and then proceeded to be charged monthly for it. After talking to them about it, they refused to reverse the charges even after I talked to the corporate office about it. The worst place ever. Honestly thinking about switching carriers. read more
