Three nights at this campground in an area that was under development I'm sure when they finish it, it will be fine, but for our three days we were stuck in a site surrounded by mud, standing nasty water, and weeds. This is the second time staying here and we will definitely be back. There was an issue with another party of campers and the hosts/management went WELL above and beyond to make it right. Other than the cabin and fire pit we didn't use many of the other amenities so I can't speak to those but with how they did whatever they could to make other issues right, I can only imagine they'd be terrific as well. read more

We just left our "deluxe cabin" from being in the Dells for 3 nights, and our entire family of 4 have said "never again". Pros: The cabin was a great size for the 4 of us and we had a loft area for the kids. The Store had a lot of good options for camping as well as souvenirs for our kids. The campground was also easy to navigate and proximity to water parks was wonderful. Cons: Our cabin was constantly damp feeling. Our bedding felt damp, our towels never dried and getting out of the shower and getting dressed was nearly impossible. The water had very low pressure and smelled rotten. They have "free wi-fi" that was slower than snails. There was a lot of dirt and debris on the floor when we arrived like it wasn't cleaned properly. When we're spending over $300 a night, I would just expect a cleaner, more well maintained dwelling. The price is outrageous for what they provide. read more

We were late in the season (February) when we tried to get a camping site in devils lake. So happy we found KOA. From the morning of our arrival, we received a courtesy text from the staff. Google maps directed us well to the campground. Once we arrived, check in was super easy. Our host gave us LOTS of info, but it was super nice and great that all of it was down in writing too. They are very friendly, and Ted was awesome in his cart who lead us to our campsite. Among all the great activities that they have planned for the families, we love that they have other amenities: game room, pool, splash pad, laundry room, and whaaaaat? They even deliver you firewood and ice. To your site. No need to get in the car to go to a supermarket and fight someone for the last bag of ice (btw, this is a true story, from this trip while visiting outside of the campsite). How awesome is that? Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short due to inclement weather, and they were very understanding and helpful. We will definitely visit them back again, and we recommend KOA WIS DELLS to anyone who may be looking for a somewhat last minute get away :) Two thumbs up! Ps: they let you know as you check in that the wifi is not strong enough for streaming, only for maybe checking emails. We planned ahead and downloaded all necessary content. Let me start by saying I have been going camping for almost 50 years. I now go camping at least twice per year. The ONLY good thing about this KOA is the showers and bathrooms are all single with there own personal doors; Not a traditional mall bathroom. You can take your dump in peace without hearing others conversate. I arrived early for my cabin reservation (10:30 am) and walked into the 'store' that doubles as check-in and Kris was NOT nice. I asked " oh is this where I check in, she says check in! we havent started check out. I say oh I' m sorry. What time is check in? Smart ass says 3 for cabins! I proceed to say Ok I didn't know, she then says yea you did! Its on your email. I opened my mouth to cut her up but paused because my dad was with me and I knew it would get "ugly". All the other workers I came in contact were nice but ATTENTION koa, You need to get someone else in that office for reservations before someone does act on that smart ass Kris and tears your store up. Another thing those bare bone cabins are TOO expensive, they cost more per night than many 4star hotel rooms. The groundskeepers are doing the best they can to keep up maintenace and cleanliness on the outdated facilty. With that said I WILL NOT visit here again. Luckily there was a family group going and I had the opportunity to hang out at their spot until check in. I stayed in a cabin when I visited My 10 fast facts: 1) The site has a game room, small convenience store (which is likely to have whatever you forgot to bring), swimming pool, bicycle rentals, dishwashing station, and playground area for the kids 2) The cabins come in various sizes. Some have bathrooms and some don't. Each cabin has enough space to park two cars. 3) The fire pit is also a combination grill so you dont need to bring your own 4)The BATHROOMS and SHOWERS are community but they're completely private. Each toilet and shower is in a small room with a locked door that displays VACANT or OCCUPIED above the door knob And yes so far they've always been clean. 5) The firewood they sell here is 3 bundles for $12 as of this posting. Its basically tree bark, so i didnt by it. The grocery store called Maurer's Market has the best and largest bundles on fire wood I've seen so far. There's also a wood mill a 5 minute walk away. $5 a armfull. You deposit money in a box. I'm sure this is where KOA gets their bark from that they sell as wood. 6) Bring your own bed sheets and pillows as they are not provided in the cabins. Be sure to bring a thick warm blanket or space heater. My cabin was drafty and I got very cold at night. This was in the beginning of August. 7) Bring enough lamps and candles for your site. Campsite gets very dark. 8) The bunk beds that come in the cabins ARE NOT for tall people. I'm only 5'8 and had a hard time 9) Internet reception in the park is decent. I have tmobile and I had 4gLte signal the majority of the time. 10) It's right off of downtown Wisconsin Dells and is extremely close, driving wise, to everything. I shall return read more

I give it a 3 stars because of the cleanliness; that's it. The spaces were very close, so much so that I was concerned that our campfire smoke was drifting right into our neighbors slide out. The campground seemed to have so much pull-in for the night activity. It wasn't quite at all. The train!! Geez! It went by often and literally vibrated the ground so much so that I felt it shaking the camper. Maybe because I'm not from around here and from a state that is very friendly...but people for the most part just aren't friendly here. Employees should go out of their way to accommodate and make their guests feel welcomed. ‍ My husband had an employee be utterly rude to him. The best part of staying here was CAMPFIRE KEVIN. A huge asset to this KOA!!! Most times when we go camping somewhere I tell my husband, "I don't want to leave." This time...I'm eager to get outta here. read more

We loved our overnight stay at KOA Kampgrounds in the Dells. Everything was super clean, and the campground is quiet for the number of families there. I will say that there is not much privacy as the cabins are fairly close to one another. We were playing some music (not very loud), and attracted some second looks from our neighbors. The little playground and sandpit made for some well-occupied young children, and the pool and water play area, although basic, were well liked by our kids. The common bathrooms are very clean. It is advised to use the bathrooms away from the main office as there is less of a wait. My only suggestion to the owners - have some real milk/cream for coffee in the morning. That's just me talking, I need some real coffee and milk first thing. All in all, for my first time "camping" and not being an adventurous sort - I really enjoyed my stay. read more

Worst camping experience I have ever had! Used the KOA phone app to reserve. I checked my bank account and WOW a pending charge from KOA Wisconsin Dells for $301.06. I called the KOA directly asked why. KOA Wis Dells' response was don't know we don't see it we only see $89.98! It's not our fault call your bank. Called bank and they said Oh no it's a hold from the KOA Wis Dells. Called the KOA Wis Dells back and they said we will try to cancel the reservation and see what happens. They did and it subtracted the $89.98 from the hold and now I have a hold for $211.08. I told them that I would pay cash when I get there and check into this and have this hold removed when I arrive. I arrived and the hold was still there. All I got was its not us it's your bank so basically NOT OUR PROBLEM! Monday came and I called my banker and they told me it was KOA Wis Dells charge. They had a hold on my $211.08. I called KOA Wis Dells back and the manager told me he would check into it. He also said just let it go through and we can deal with it then, I DON"T THINK SO. He called me back and said NOT US! He also told me he had spent a whole hour working on this. I suggested he spend more time and find the issue because this is fraud. After signing a bunch of papers, sending emails and receipts, to my bank, from KOA and spending hours working with my bank I finally got my bank to refuse payment on this. Second issue, we travel with our Havanese dogs and have done so for 18 years now. Never had an issue with them. They are well trained, most of the time anyway, as they are show dogs. They have been all over the US and Canada. We left them in our RV, 36 ft Winnebago Journey, AC running and shades pulled. The guy next door was not so pet friendly as was the KOA Wisconsin Dells. We were not gone for 30 min and got called from the KOA to come take care of our dogs. So we went straight back. My Husband dropped me two doors down and quietly walked up on the RV. No noise, no dogs barking. As soon as they heard the car pull in and door closing they knew we were home and started barking. My husband went to the office across the road from our RV and asked what was going on. The employee told him the guy next door complained and was really mad. My Husband came out of the office really mad. Their friends next to them had a dog barking. He told the dog don't bark! The KOA employees came out chit chatting with the neighbors like long lost friends all while their dog was barking. We just took our dogs with us in the car for dinner out. Fortunately it was still cool in Wis Dells. Next time and if there is a next time to visit Wis Dells we will find another source for camping. read more

Our goal was for a lovely family camping weekend, but unfortunately we were met with an absurdly loud train (that runs right next to the campground EVERY HOUR) and very rude campground employees. We left our home with very high hopes to enjoy our Labor Day weekend, and we were excited to experience a KOA so close to the Wisconsin Dells! I have to say, the campground is quite beautiful and effervescently pleasing, and offers many fun activities for young kids. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the attitudes of the staff. The rules about the campsite were not communicated clearly on their brochure, therefore, we were yelled at multiple times for having a tent AND an RV on the same campsite. Not only that, but we were threatened by camp employees, that our cars would be towed if we did not register them "correctly" (when in fact we did). All in all, I would like to say that this KOA has completely lost all of our trust and we were very disappointed by the way we were treated. We will never be back here again. read more

The campground itself is a bit hilly and some of the sites are harder to get into then others but we were able to maneuver into ours. The site was level which works for us! Came with a nice little patio area as well to enjoy the fire. Perfect spot if you plan on heading into the area. read more

Traveling from Ohio to Yellowstone, we pulled in right at 7pm which is the last possible time for check in.. we felt horrible about this but we were still met with smiles and friendly exchanges from staff.. one of the staff members actually showed us too our site and helped my husband back into the spot.. the campground is quiet and clean, they had a man playing acoustic guitar and families gathered too sing-along. Truthfully it was a magical place for uninterrupted family time, and a cool and calm relaxing place for any camper to stay or anyone passing through :) this is definitely a gem! read more

This place seems nice if you and retired with a giant camper, but if you're coming with a family of kids beware. For some reason they don't allow cloth lines, so good luck trying to dry any clothes after swimming. Rude manager! My TV cable didn't work. An employee came to fix the problem. The TV got broken. I asked to speak with the manager. He did not introduce himself - I had to ask him if he was the manager. He said there was no way KOA was buying me a new TV. I pointed out that I wasn't asking for a new TV. All I wanted was a ride to Walmart to buy a new TV (I have a motorcycle - can't carry a TV). This manager said I should take a cab (no offer of calling the cab for me). I was taken aback by his (Steve's) hostility. He could've achieved the same outcome (NOTHING for me) in a courteous manner. Perhaps he should brush up on his communication skills. Shame on KOA for hiring a manager with such a nasty disposition! read more

We've stayed at the Wisconsin Dells KOA quite a few times over the years. The campground is always clean and well maintained. Water/electric sites are usually available on short notice. FHU usually books up well in advance over holidays. We always try to request a full hookup site "up on the hill" because of the train tracks that run just across the street. At all hours of the day and night, both freight trains and Amtrak trains go by making huge amounts of noise. You can still hear the trains up on the hill, but it isn't nearly as bad as the sites down low. The campground hosts and staff are all excellent. Everyone is friendly. Although I usually use the facilities in our RV, the bathrooms and showers on site are always clean and well maintained. Trash is picked up hourly by the campground staff. Occasionally there have been some rowdy campers who created a bit of a nuisance, but issues like that are handled swiftly. There isn't much in the immediate vicinity of the campground so a bicycle or a good pair of walking shoes are a necessity. It's about a half mile in to town and from there, you have immediate access to everything. All of the sites are more or less level. Some have concrete pads but most are dirt/gravel with a picnic table and a fire ring. They have quite a few FHU sites, but also many that are just water/electric. Most are back-in but there are also pull-thru sites available as well. Note that they do have firewood restrictions in place so if you are coming from out of state, you will need to purchase your firewood at the campground instead of bringing it from home. read more

Very tidy camping spot, nice + helpful staff, cozy and all spots seems to be situated close to a well-kept bathroom / shower area. It offers a nice kid and adult friendly mixed atmosphere, and is definitely not a party spot (which we liked). Each site has its own fire ring and picnic table, and the tent space was sufficient for our large 8 person tent, truck, charcoal grill and other gear. It's super close to all Wis Dells has to offer as well. The only thing I'd note is there's a train nearby 1 area of the grounds, which didn't bother us (it only came by a couple of times) however a couple next to us opted for ear plugs and were good to go. Ear plugs might have been a good idea regardless if you hope to sleep in at all! We enjoyed our stay here and met some nice folks! Thanks to KOA for keeping camping fun! read more

I highly recommend that you find a friendlier place to book. My family camps with a very small teardrop camper. It's only 5 ft by 9 ft; literally a rolling queen size bed. Our three little girls staying in a tent next to the camper. They enforce an absurd policy that prohibits us from having our teardrop camper and a tent on the same site. Their "rules are rules" idiocy has completely destroyed our loyalty to KOA. I have camped at KOA campsites for most of my life, and a phone call with a rude woman cost the company my family's loyalty. read more

I haven't been camping too many times, but I could tell that this one of the better campgrounds out there. When you arrive they drive you to your campsite so you don't have to try and figure it out from the map. They also gave us 2 discount cards that had the majority of all bars and restaurants in the dells on them and was Buy One get One for a lot of different drink and entree deals. It saved us a bunch of money! In addition, there were several showers with nice hot water and several clean bathrooms available as well. They have a pool here too, although we didn't have the chance to hangout there. The whole experience at KOA makes me want to go back, and confident that I can go anywhere and stay at a KOA campground and have a good experience. The only complaint I have (if there had to be one) is that I think this campground is by a train tracks or something that was very noisy in the early morning. read more

I have been going to this KOA located in the Dells for the past 10 years. The location is great, few min drive to downtown dells. The grounds are kept clean at all times; restrooms/showers are the cleanest I've seen at a campground. The owner Jill is just fantastic, very kind, sweet and always happy. I have never had a bad time camping besides a group of campers that got way out of hand with drinking. That was taken care of the next morning. The cabins there are GREAT and come with AC and Heat. Arrived the day after Memorial Day to an empty KOA; which was perfectly fine for us. We stayed at a nice backup camp site that was on a higher plateau. Our site had all the hookups we needed and space for the extra vehicle we drove in with. There was a very clean and nice shower and restroom facility a short walk from the campsite. The weather wasn't overly warm but we still braved the pool and swam for an hour. The location is quiet compared to town noise however there is a busy railroad across the road and seemed like trains go through every 2-3 hours. Also the location is close enough to town that you can get anywhere pretty quickly. read more

Just stayed here for an extended fall weekend. Great staff who were very helpful to find us a suitable spot for our family. Unfortunately we didn't notice the train tracks. If you are on the lower side or anywhere near the entrance, the train tracks are really close and there are a lot of trains all night long. And when I say close, I'm talking our motor home literally shook when they went by and it usually woke us up multiple times over night (and we are heavy sleepers) I would give this place a five star if not for the trains. Sorry guys...the campground is nice and the workers are friendly. However, the train across the street is insane...all night long and so loud. I would not stay here again. We were also located right above the basketball hoops which we used EARLY morning and late at night which was also annoying and loud. I was also a little irritated that when we checked out a day early (after already paying) the front desk didn't bother to ask why we were leaving early. read more

I had a great experience over the last week. My family and I stayed at spot 97 for 5 nights in our RV. We had a blast. Their swimming pool area wasn't the biggest and lacked a "deep end" ranging from 3-5 feet but it was kept very clean and at a good temperature. The park was kept very clean especially the bathrooms/shower house. It was close to all of the attractions in the dells. The kids had a good time in the game room. Their shop was stocked and not to overpriced. The firewood was priced well (3 bundles for $10). Over all it was a great stay. read more

This was our first time camping with an RV. The employees were very friendly and showed us to our site. The driver came back to make sure we were okay and that we did everything correctly. From the moment we got here we never felt like we were really a guest of the campground we felt like we were more of a nuisance we've been coming here for 13 years and right from the beginning it was like we're being watched by Big Brother. We tried putting up a tent on our site got yelled at and the lady said we had to take the tent down and pay for another campsite if we wanted a tent as well. Which fine that's okay if that's the rules but then walking around the campground we see lots of other people who have tents up on their RV sites as well. Then later on we get to talked to again about putting up a screen tent over picnic table which plenty of people had as well. Then we had to explain to her that it is just a screen tent. then later on wad told around 7 p.m. that we had to make sure we were quiet for quiet time at 10 p.m. because she didn't want to get any phone calls about us. But then for the next two days our neighbors had super loud dogs that would just constantly bark at 5 a.m. now mind your quiet time is 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. so I didn't understand why it seems like we were just constantly getting talked to and picked on throughout this whole trip probably will never come back to this particular KOA even though that for 13 years we've been coming here. we like this place. it is located very close to the downtown dells area. there are railroad tracks which are used quite often so be ready for that. good staff clean park and sites. plus full hookups. I recommend the sites on top of the hill. this was an award winning campground. it is secluded in a wooded setting but so close to all the dells offers. we get used to the train lol read more
