We stayed over the weekend on camp site 97 and it was a nice place that fit two tents! It was fun and I would just bring a canopy for some extra shade! Everything seemed reasonably priced and enjoyable! The breakfast was good and around 8 bucks a plate. The ceramics ranged from 7-13 dollars each and are nice quality and pretty cool designs! The mini golf is $10 per person and the canoes/kayak rental was $5 per person for a whole hour! It would also be better if they included pictures of the sites online to avoid some confusion! If you can go anywhere else, go there. Cheapest sites started at 70$ this weekend, small and non-electric. Full of rude people who will shout and blast music late into the night, keep their dogs off the leash, and park staff won't do anything about it. All of your neighbors will be blasted out of their mind by the time the sun goes down. One set of bathrooms outside of business hours a long way's walk from most of the park. Worst designed bathrooms I have ever used at a campground, and that includes locations that only had outhouses or where you had to pack in and pack out. Wet, plastic wrapped puny bundles of firewood on sale for 10$ a bundle. TEN DOLLARS. Theft. Oh, and I know what you're thinking, surely the highway 100 yards away has a privacy wall or gets quieter at night? No and no. Do your research and do not make the same mistake that my family did. We did a rent a tent site. My daughter had a softball tournament that weekend up in Baraboo, so I thought it would be a fun experience to go camping, real tent camping. She played Friday night, so we checked in on the later side. The tent had water in it and a small hole in the back, which I assumed was to access the electric outlet that was behind the tent. We were gone all day Saturday for games and came back to eat and sleep. We checked out by 9 am on Sunday because she had more games. We left the site in perfect condition, and I even left a new bundle of unopened firewood. Fast forward to Sunday evening, I see Jellystone took out 250 dollars!! I called and they said it was due to damage to their BRAND NEW tent!! They say they inspect the tents before new guests arrive. LIES!! They sent me 3 pictures of holes and tears. Like I said, there was only one hole in the back that I assumed they put there for the electric outlet. The tent was NOT brand new, and you could tell it had been there for a year or more because it was so faded! I am just beside myself with how the owner scams people. The facilities aren't nice either. The bathrooms are moldy, the toilets are constantly running, and the water to shower or wash your hands is brown. Everything is so outdated. Just awful. They say there is shuffleboard board but it's just a cement slab with the paint all chipped off. Save your money and take your family elsewhere to make memories! read more

We have been to many yogi bear campgrounds, this is one of the worst. Accommodations are extremely run down and dirty. Campsites are VERY TIGHT, our neighbors water hookup is maybe a foot from our fire pit. Campground backs up to 90 and you hear road traffic the entire time. The park is straight out of the 70's and not in a good way. Facilities are run down, dirty, with several bathrooms out of service. A dad literally beat his son in the face and park "security" came around 45 minutes later. No police were called or other actions taken. my wife and kids were literally afraid to walk to the bathrooms after dark. Free Wi-Fi, yeah right! We were told our stay included free minigolf and boat canoe rentals only to be to that it would be an extra 69.99 upon arrival. Went to office and talked to a manager who didn't do a darn thing even though she could see from our reservation that was indeed what we were led to believe. Her "manager" was in a back office when we went to speak with her but that gentleman never bothered to oem out and just shouted we could pay the up charge or too bad. Truly the pinnacle of customer service! They nickel and dime you to death for extremely subpar facilities. One we viewed the mini gol course boat area we quickly realized it wasn't worth $5 o we accepted the lies we were told and went to pirates cove to mini golf (amazing time and superbly maintained). Campsites are littered with trash pool is overrun and far too small for the size of the campground. Several "parents" were in the pool swearing like sailors and the lifeguards did nothing but hit his vape. The roar of the interstate is constant so don't plan on having conversations if you book a site near the pool/activities. Now let's talk about the activities they really build hype around: karaoke is a Walmart unit set out on a picnic table. Ceramics? Bring you wallet. DJ, yeah this is a joke as well. Cheese, wine, beer, chocolate tastings are a few chocolate bars and a couple Dixie cups. Movies at night you can't hear over the roar of the interstate. Sites are rocky and washed out so unless your unit has auto levelers with some major range plan on sleeping at an angle. Tents sites are even worse so beware. If you buy anything from camp store/gift shop that could possibly melt know it will be liquid as there is no ac. The owners clearly treat this as a cash cow and haven't improved a thing in decades. It's truly sad to see what could be a fun, family orientated place lie in ruins. We will never return and will stay at Sherwood Forrest campground instead. Considering the safety, facilities, cleanliness, and charges this is a half star facility at best. read more

My parents brought me here when I was young, and I wanted to start the same tradition with my kids. This is our fifth year and always have hopes that things would be better this time around. However, seeing Yogi Bear does not cut it anymore. This facility has gone down the drain - literally. All bathrooms are disgusting (posted pics), management is extremely rude and not worth the 500 bucks for a weekend getaway. New this year: They scam you to lock your campsite for an extra 50 bucks and if you do not, they give your site away. The pools are not maintained, and I highly doubt the toddler's pool is up to code there are many dangerous zones that can easily split a kid's head open. Very saddened I think it's time to look for another campsite - this isn't what it used to be, and I don't see it getting any better. read more

The park is close to all the attractions in the Dells and has a family atmosphere. Taking a glow stick on the hey rides with our Grandson was always a highlight for him. When the mascot Yogi bear took the time to interact with our Grandson he was over the moon with joy. Wonderful memories! read more

Stay away!! This place is filthy and unkept. Half of the things don't work, are missing, or in need of repair. We reserved a lodge room and were given an 8x16 mobile home that was "2 bedrooms". You couldn't even open the door to the bedroom without first going into the bathroom because the door was hinges backwards. The bed in the main bedroom was an 8" thick mattress on the floor. The ac didn't work so they put a window unit in the ceiling that you needed to stand on the countertop to reach the controls. The property was full of weeds, the pool areas were littered with trash, food, and personal items. The mini golf course was in poor repair and portions were overgrown in waist high weeds. The main water slide wasn't working and looked as it hadn't worked for a long time. The staff was very self absorbed and even though there was clearly tons of work that could have been done many were standing around uninterested. Will never be back. AWFUL PLACE ! I planned a weekend family vacation for my family, 4 adults , 2 children ages both 9,and a 1 1/2 year old for Aug 14, -16 th 2020 . I researched the resort and it seemed wonderful and fun! I again researched but unfortunately did not researched the reviews , I found a Bungalow that , according to the website , was perfect for my family , being that we would be outside enjoying activities most of the time the Bungalow would have been just fine . The website indicated A full bed, and 4 bunks beds , a flat screen TV, fridge , microwave, fire ring outside and grill , and a/c , and hot tub ...I had emailed them and asked if we could get pictures of the excat Bungalow we were staying in ...they replied with due to C19 they were unable to get photos....lack of staff . Fine ok . The outside was plenty cute . Trying to open the door was the first issue, there were balck swipe marks from trying to open the door previously. What we seen was pure shock! There was a double bed , but there was no room between the door and bed to walk in , you had to make sure the door was all the way open, there was no bedding if any kind , no sheets, pillows, nothing ! There was a dorm fridge ( for a family of 6 mind you ) , a microwave that would not fit a coffee cup in it . And as far as the flat screen indicated , it was a 80's bubble tv that didn't even work , the adjoining room had thr 4 bunk beds ...with absolutely nothing else in the room ...no lamp , dresser curtain on the window as shown in the website ....and had we put the playpen in the room there would have been NO ROOM for anything else!! Family of 6 !?!? Maybe for Hobbits! I had also inquired about the shared bathrooms due to C19 and was rest assured again that they are cleaned continuously and sanitized through the day . Also that makes were not mandatory on the grounds, but could be worn by choice but in the buildings they must be worn . Returning to the office and trying to explain the problems and what we could do Inwas told they were booked and there was nothing we could do, I had to stay there because I couldn't get my money back !! He could see my reaction and then suddenly there was a cancelation for a retro lodge ! It had everything we needed , he was apologetic but then told me that on top of the 458.00 I had already spent that I needed to pay $ 166 more for the upgrade !!!! I explained the misleading website but the owner isn't responsible for what the website list ...what ??!? Anyway...I was forced to pay it . We then had to wait for the Lodge to be cleaned for a hour ! We took the kids to the little water park which was actually ok . Upon arriving to the lodge it seemed pretty decent , it had all that we needed and was perfectly spacious for my family ! Now as far as having to wait due to cleaning ...Im not sure what they did, but it was filthy ....the floor was dirty, the ceiling in the bunk bed room was held up by duck tape , the closets had webs , the bathroom fan, had dust and debrie , the underneath cabinets in the bathroom were filthy, the toilet was dirty , the light above the stove was full if grease , there were water stains all over the ceiling ! The toaster handle had to be held down , the deck had nails sticking out of it , I opened the door off our bedroom only to walk out a graze my foot on a nail and got a blood blister ! It was full of dirt, tree needles , and rocks ! The shared bathrooms were right down from us so I noticed alot ....sitting out by the fire for almost a hour one day, not one attendant came to that bathroomm and cleaned , it was nasty in there . Floors were absolutely full of filth , 2 of the 4 stalls didnt shurt , the shiwer were full of grime and hair , the toilets were just gross . The water park slide was not open , we were told to juat keep checking back becauae of C19 and there was enough staff , but the pool was packed and the hit tub also! The golf corse was full.of moss and weeds , no maintance on that at all. No social distancing was even attempted, nor mask wearing in any of the buildings as "required " . Although on the playground there were masks .....in the dirt, just laying there , then the next day we went back to the aground and in the same spot was the mask from the previous day ....no one cleaned ! For it being Yogi Bear resort , we only seen YB one time for a hayride ....no other time was he around to even walk the grounds a wave at the children, no Boo Boo, no Ranger , nothing ! To end this. THE BEST YET ....the Retro Lodge as INDICATED on the site is a 3 day minimum stay ......were told as they came to our Lodge Sunday around 3, 4, and 5 that we had to be out at noon ....Insaid no, I laid 166.00 and its a 3 day minium stay....I was then informed that ONLY APPLIES IF I RENTED IN ADVANCE !!! My whole family was miserable the entire weekend, we were so pissed and upset from the min we got there thst we packed up and left !! read more

We celebrated our 11 year old's birthday. She had a blast. They had a glow in the dark hay ride. She tie-dyed a tshirt and did a mosaic art piece. She liked the arcade room and won 3 prizes in the claw machine. Back in the cabin she made smores and had a glow in the dark dance "party". The outlets are 4 minutes away. The Boo-boo chalet cabin was clean. They provided towels, full size refrigerator, microwave, a Keurig machine, coffee maker, ac, bathroom, grill, picnic table, dishes, cooking and eating utensils, & tv. Yogi came with two small cakes and a bag of goodies for our birthday girl. It was Hawaii themed that weekend so we decorated the front of the cabin. My daughter likes being busy so this was perfect. She had fun in the pool. It's 4'3-5 feet deep which works for us. They have a separate water splash pool for the younger kids. The activities were a little extra but very reasonably priced. read more

Awesome place. Me and my 3 daughters came and had the time of our lives. It was their first time camping so we did the rent-a-tent (already set up when you get there, with 2 queen air mattresses inflated. You just need bedding) There are literally various activities all day- arts n crafts, characters meet n greets, hay rides, contests in the pool, etc... Also good to know there are theme weeks the same time every year they said so some weeks much busier. We came during Mardi Gras week. Good campground food for cheap prices. Alcohol as well. The employee were so great to my daughters. Alexis was so nice leading all the characters around and all the lifeguards were so sweet and engaging to the kids. The splash pad and pool (w waterslide) were more than enough for my oldest, a 9 year old, and will be for years to come. Awesome location close to downtown. I'm not an experienced camper but it is right next to the highway so I could see people having issue with that. But then again, you'd know that going in so maybe go elsewhere if that bothers you. The staff really made a difference here. It has the feel of a cruise ship where there are lots of super friendly people learning English and experiencing their first time in America, as we learned from a few of them. Just have some patience with them at times, they are learning and so friendly. We can't wait to come back. read more

My family and I stayed here from July 3-4. Our tent site was 12 and 14 , when we arrived we asked the owner son where exactly our boundries of site 14 we can setup. Neighbor site 15 arrived and the owner stated that we had to move over and that was our responsibility to buy a Y attachment and long extension cord to share the water and electricity. We paid for two tent site with water and electricity. End up cramming 12 people and four big SUV in one site and using one water and electricity hookup. Bathrooms and showers are very dirty. We end up building our own shower on our site. Did not recieve a refund. The owner is very rude. Never want to stay at this campsite again. Owner complained about working long hours and I said that I know I'm a nurse. Owner stated "That why you need more a vacation." read more

It's definitely one of the furthest away from the Dells main attractions that's not owned by Mount Olympus. We picked cabin BC22 because of the location to the resorts pool and splash pad. At first we are thought it was going to be too small for our family so we swapped to the Retro Campers. That was a HUGE mistake they make the Bathroom from the movie Trainspotting look clean. Retro means dirty dirty with Mildew and mold. AVOID. They need to just Tear them drown and build new facilities. So we switched.back to Boo Boo cabin which looked glorious after the Retro nightmare nastiness. These also definitely need some deep cleaning and dusting out the cobwebs spider city. Now the Biggest problem of this resort in the Location because it next to the Highway it's NOISY 24/7 so if your looking for that quite camping experience and getting close to nature it's definitely not happening because of the 24/7 Highway noise. We booked this location because we wanted a camping type environment and not a motel/Hotel environment. But at the price point we paid we Would have been better off just booking a Resort in the downtown Dells area instead. Heck if we could have gotten a refund we would have just left for a resort hotel. Now aside from the unpleasant accommodations and Highways Noise. The STAFF GO ABOVE AND WAY BEYOND to make this the best experience ever for the Kids. On that alone I'd give the resort alone 5 starts. Especially HONESTY she was amazing she made the stay beyond awesome. We wondered if she ever goes home because she there 24/7 doing everything to Keep all the kids entertained. Would we go back? Once opon a time Yogi bear Campgrounds was the place to be. The owners were great and friendly. My family and I have been coming here for the past 10 years. Every year was kicked off without a hitch. Swimming, bonfires, boating, and bonding. Sadly I think that this year was the last year we will be there. This Labor day Camping weekend looked promising. Except the new owner, Brent Gasser, decided to change up everything. He would publicly yell at his staff, terrorize the campers, and turn that place into an extreme dump. He rides around in his golf cart walking through campsites were people are suppose to be staying and demands respect. He rudely belittled my family by saying that we had unpaid guests (when in all actuality we paid). The staff or lack there of, was rude and the washrooms are disgusting. The grounds are mostly hills so your tent is on an angle. Its right by the highway so you have no peace and quiet. If you are thinking of taking a mini-vaca to the Dells, go to the Wilderness or some other campground. The prices at Yogi bear have since been jacked up (probably because little boy Brent wants to make a fortune from his new dump). So it isn't even worth it to camp there. So much for the kids to do and the staff treated us with so much care and respect. the bathrooms and showers are kept up great they have a bathroom attendant who was always around cleaning and restocking everything. the staff was the best my daughter even hugged everyone good by and would get up in the morning to go see her favorite staff members. and they never acted like she was bothering them or like they were to busy for her. so sad this will be our last trip until next year read more

I have young children and this place kept them busy. There are things on the hour to do, usually. Some of the events, like ceramic painting, might not be free, but for a few bucks, it's fine. Looking back at the ceramic treasures, it's been worth it. You should know that some of the sites are a tight squeeze. If you're new to camping, you need to ask for a spacious site in the back, away from the pool. If you try to shoot close for the pool, you have to unhitch blocking traffic. For newbie campers, that's super stressful. You should also know that the sites up by the pool are going to be noisy from the interstate. It won't feel like camping, but some people really don't care. If you go as a group and like being noisy late a night, then i'd stay up there because that extra noise, won't bother you a bit. We haven't been there in over a year. We are ready to go back, but we'll take a site way in the back since we are more quiet. read more

We have stayed at many other Jellystone parks and had a great time, therefore we chose a Jellystone while traveling across country with our 4 children. Office and store staff polite however that's all the positive we have. Showers (men and women) are filthy all three days at all hours. There was even someone in there cleaning and she literally threw rag on floor and wiped with her foot. Showers are also old and do not function well. Kiddie pool was closed upon arriving due to water heater issue. Hot tub was closed and filthy. Pool was overcrowded all days. Pool has 4 basketball nets in shallow end of pool with hard basketballs provided that adults throw so kids cannot swim in shallow Sites are extremely tight. We were given a backin spot for RV that was uneven and branches scratched top/side of RV. Throughout park all spots appear uneven as campers/Rvs all have attempted to correct with supplies on hand. On Last night a trailer pulled in beside us and set up a block party with 2 other tents. No limit apparently on how many people can be at a site. Camp store sells fireworks which ruin a quiet morning camping or sleeping in. Quiet hours end around 730 so the noise starts. Trailer next to us had a sewage leak. Called security and she said she's send maintenance. Never came. Told front desk and were told maintenance was already there. Interstate is close, with only a few trees separating campground from road. Even with air conditioning on it can be heard all night. No where does their website mention this. Cannot enjoy sitting at campfire talking to kids cause cannot year then without yelling. In camp store ceiling light fell to ground while in there. Told employee who looked and walked away. In summary this is a dumpy overpriced campground with a yogi bear running around. read more

We have a pull behind camper and the campsites are completely uneven, the bottom of the front door of our camper was at my chest while the back door was at about my stomach, we had to use many blocks to become level. The electrical pole was damaged, sewer pipe broken. Just ridiculous. Campsite was never cleaned from previous campers. The activity/kiddie pool was not operational. Shower house was dirty. Couldn't understand most of the employees so they were no help with anything. It was just bad, like I said we won't go back. read more

The front staff lady was rude and it wasn't until after we paid for the golf that she asked what campsite we were at. I told her we weren't staying there, just looking to play mini golf. She hesitated, saying it was for those staying there and they usually charge an extra $10 fee to visitors, on top of the cost for golf. She let me play anyways because she probably didn't want to refund me what I already paid, because I was not about to pay more when they weren't busy due to Covid. It was the worst course I've ever played on. No upkeep. The course didn't even make sense or had flow to it. It had you walking all around with no paths. Even though I didn't stay there, just looking at everything there showed me it was a dump. Nothing looks like it's kept up. read more

This place is absolutely disgusting ! First of all the messed up our reservation then tried to blame us stating they contacted AFTER receiving our confirmation which was the first lie. The then "upgraded " us to a retro cabin which simply put us a half trailer that hadn't been touched since the 80s. The bunk bed room had a window that kept falling out!! So our kids could not sleep in it. The back door had a 2 inch gap on the top. When it rained it leaked and soaked our suitcase! we tried to call the first night amd were told " I'll call you back " snd hung up on. They never called back ( this was security). We then tried the next morning. No anewer. I finly found a cleaner who called the asst manager. She informed me she had security phone snd it wasn't working properly . She also took notes amd said a manager would call Monday . No call. When I posted on Facebook the owner lied and said that they had tried to make it right . We haven't even talked to them!! $250 a night we got a leaking dirty trailer with horrible service !! read more

I have a good one for all of you!!! We stayed at Jelly stone in WI dells this last weekend! I will start with the park is very outdated, extremely small camp sites, & crowded. But let's get to the serious problem, we stayed in our camper & paid for water & electric hook ups! We hooked up our camper to their power @ which point my 9 year old daughter stepped on our camper steps to go inside & got shocked! My husband then touched the camper and he got shocked. We notified the owners who responded with an electrician was just out fixing it. Stating there was no way it was shocking anyone! We then used an extension cord to a different box to prove this wasn't an issue with our camper! (Which it wasn't as the other camper plugged into the box at our spot was also experiencing the same issues) Electrician came back & argued with me about it happening...after messing around for a while he told me it was fixed & he plugged my camper back into that box....a couple hours go by & I went to go inside the camper & AGAIN I was shocked! At this point I'm extremely unhappy with this camp ground! My husband walked over to the office and told them to come touch our camper! (Which they did & got shocked) after all this BS they didn't refund any money & quite frankly treated us like shit! I will never spend another dime of my money at this camp ground again! In the five years we have being camping during our duration in the military this is by far the worst place we have camped, and we have camped all over this country. The pictures and website were intriguing and it looked like a great place for a family with young children to camp, however, to our dismay we found that the campsite was full of drunk people driving golf carts, and running around shouting throughout the night. We even had teenagers trying to throw basketballs at our dogs while we walked them. The amount of unattended young children was shocking and made it difficult to drive through the facility. People would park their golf carts in the middle of the road or stand and talk to friends in the center of the road and not allow vehicles to pass. My family stayed at the Kalahari resort down the road and paid almost the same price for much better quality service and amenities. read more

The place is absolutely run down and management doesn't care! We were in a retro resort where they had the bathroom floor completely coming up and ducked taped down at the doorway. Rocks holding the doors open and bugs around the windows. As this want enough the sheets and towels provided had blood stains on them. After complaining to management they said the place shouldn't have been rented out that way and moved us to another cabin that was supposed to be clean. Upon entering it we had to have house keeping come clean it due to it being left in disarray. After all this the main manager rented out the original cabin for he same night in the same condition. Haven't kept this place up at all. Even newer splash pad is missing paint and looks ancient. Bathrooms have probably never been updated. Campsites over crowded. Next to us two landscaper trailers. One filled with firewood. Supposedly a vehicle limit . With all these people, you'd think they'd have a few bucks left for improvement. read more

Nasty bathrooms and showers at least the ones by us. Bird nest over table in rec area by pool crapping all over table. Staff doesn't seem care. A kid got hurt when he lean on spilt log fence and broke because it was old and patched. I don't recommend this one. read more

Staying here over the Labor Day weekend in a red carpet site and 3 sites away from us there is loud music playing. This music is blasting not loud. Went into the office and spoke with Randy who sold me this site and he said they would take care of it. Well not taken care of. Very large group involved in other campsites where music is coming from. Last year we stayed at the KOA in the Dells and had a great time without anything like this. I would not recommend this Campground. read more

We have been here a few times before. We had such a great time the first time that we came back with another family the 2nd year. And now the 3rd year we brought that family and another one. We liked it because it is very kid friendly. We wanted to focus the camping trip on the kids. We were satisfied with the registration until we encountered a situation with the park owner. We had 3 cars for our 2 sites and one of the cars was sent through the front without the orange parking permit and wristbands for the family of four. He never gave us a long enough chance to explain the situation. He kept saying we did not pay if we didn't get the orange passes or wristbands. We have been there before so we did know the routine. He said it was a security issue if we didn't have it. But then it was the person at the front that let him through and didn't give him any passes or wristbands. We paid for the 3 cars, 2 sites, 3 tents, and 6 adults. It was very bothersome because another one of the cars just arrived and didn't even get out of the car yet to put on the wristbands and he was accusing us of not paying. After awhile of bickering back and forth, he called down to front and the manager there said she was helping us already. If he had given me a minute I would've of explained our situation. We weren't sure if we wanted the sites we had and was thinking about moving to a different one. He should of gave us the time of day to explain. Or he should of doubled check our registration before accusing us of not paying. We just arrived and didn't even get the chance to put on our wristbands. That was very rude and the way he spoke to us was very unprofessional. The manager at the front was so much more helpful and friendlier than the park owner. We are there to have a good time with family and friends... but this encounter kind of ruined the mood. Luckily, after that he left us alone. We would not come in without paying the proper fees. We're not sure if we will continue our camping traditions at this location anymore... read more

Yuck. We went here and it was loud (interstate traffic), dirty, expensive, and there wasn't much to do - either in terms of activities or nature. Our 2 year old didn't like it either. read more

I don't even know where to start, so I will just do the pros and cons. This was over the 4th of July weekend. So I expect any RV park to be full. Pros- lots of stuff for the kids to do. Nice pool area, nice arcade, nice volleyball and gaga ball places. Cons- tents! Tents! And more Tents! Never been to a park with so many tents! If there was an extra 10 feet... There was a tent. With that many tents, it overcrowded everything. Could not even get in the pool there was soooo many people. So overcrowded! Check in was a disaster. Cars just lined and lined up to get in. We were on the road for a good 15 minutes before we even pulled into the park road. The first spot they put us in, did not even fit a Travel trailer of our size. We had to dig out the sewer connection because it was buried in the dirt. Second, the hose did not even reach the water. Never had this problem before. Went down the next morning and complained and finally they moved us. Each RV and tent site had a minimum of 8-10 people a piece. Way to many for this park to hold. This is the first park we ever left early. At $100 a night, no cable, overcrowded, had to move sites, and left early so the kids could go somewhere with a pool they could swim in... I would never go back! And would never recommend it. Oh and NO cancellation Policy and u must pay in full when you book the reservation!!! Whatever! Never again! read more

Below is a letter I wrote to complain to the corporation: To whom it may concern, I would like to inform you of the terrible service, condescending and disrespectful attitudes of management, and poor conditions at the Jellystone campgrounds at the Wisconsin Dells location. My wife, two children ages two and four, and I arrived on Thursday, July 2nd 2009 at 1:30 PM. When we got to our reserved site, we were placed on a hill. My wife is 7 1/2 months pregnant and recently had some medical difficulties with the pregnancy and spent two nights in the hospital. We went back up to the front and requested a site that was flat so that my wife would be more comfortable and tried to explain her condition. The person helping us barely understood English and we were asked to wait. After a long wait, a young girl came and tried to accommodate us. She called management on her radio and , without any concern, stated that there was nothing they could do. After further requests for some understanding, the young girl directed me to a trailer where the management staff was located. I entered the trailer and found a man with an assistant manager badge. He told me to go back to the front desk where I had already spoken with two people to no avail. I requested that he come with me to assist. He informed me that he was busy but would come down soon. I waited another 20 minutes and he never came. Out of frustration I decided to just go to my assigned site and try and make the most of the situation and do my best to set up on as level a spot as I could find. As I began to set up, I noticed broken glass and other miscellaneous garbage all over the site. I spent over an hour clearing an area to make it suitable to set up my tent. After setting up, I began to realize that this was far from the peaceful relaxing vacation I had envisioned. Our site was approximately 100 yards from the interstate and I could hardly hear myself think. Needless to say, this made sleeping on our first night a challenge to say the least. The following evening at 9 PM, the family and I headed to the closest bathroom. When we got there, both the women's and men's rooms had signs, "closed for cleaning". We headed to the next nearest bathroom at the Ranger's Station and found the same signs. We headed to a third location and the last bathroom that we were aware of. The management and a few workers were affixing the same signs at this location. My wife, 7 1/2 months pregnant, asked them to wait so she could utilize the facility and they told her they were closed. She informed the manager that she couldn't wait and he then stated that the bathrooms weren't closed for cleaning; there was actually an issue with the well. When my wife asked what she (and others) were supposed to do, she was told, "what would you do at home if the water didn't work? Hold it..." After a heated discussion, the manager reluctantly let her go. At noon the next day (15 hours later) which happened to be the 4th of July, there were still no working bathrooms and no working showers. My wife and I decided we had enough. We packed up and headed to the front desk to request a refund for the remaining day (we were booked for one more evening) we were supposed to stay. After another wait of over an hour, we requested a refund due to no bathrooms or showers. We were told there would be no refunds. We asked why and they said they could not foresee the well problem so there would be no refunds. Due to the holiday weekend, there was a massive volume of people with no bathrooms and showers. I don't understand why, after 12-15 hours of no water, there was no attempt to rectify the situation by bringing in port-o-potties? I am appalled by the attitude of management and their lack of concern over their guests comfort or the unsanitary conditions that existed. I am writing to you, to request that some action occur with the management staff. They need to understand that their guests expect some level of comfort and service for the hard earned dollars they are spending and do not deserve to be treated as my family and I were. I am also requesting a refund for the last night we were billed. IN OTHER WORDS, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more
