They had classics as well as newer releases. Until I read another review, I didn't realize these are all donated books! How amazing. Hardcovers are $6 and softcovers are $3; rare editions may be more but not much more. They aren't officially open on Sundays, but they have a box to pay for books you'd like to take home that day. They had a calendar full of local events they host. Plenty of outdoor seating too.

I quickly found the book I was looking for, unfortunately it was quite pricy. I'm usually fine paying more for things if sold by a local bookshop, but this was more than I planned to spend. Flyleaf also has a number of events every month. I recently attended the Penguin Publisher event. Snacks and drinks were available to those that attended the event and there was a raffle at the end. The event was informative and full of book recs from the Penguin Publisher sales team. Flyleaf is legit! I'll be sure to add this location to one of my favorite bookstores in the Chapel Hill area.

I saw Olivia Muenter speak about her new book Little One, and the seating and organization of the whole event was handled flawlessly. I thought it was very kind of the event to offer free tickets in addition to tickets that came with a copy of the book, as I had preordered from another store. I appreciated the consideration, and it made me want to stock up on other books from them. I didn't have any issues with parking at all- I got a spot in the large lot right out front. I was also able to choose from a variety of options for quick dinner stops before my event. All in all, a great addition to North Hills!

For coffee I ordered the Banana Pudding Latte which has banana puree and nilla wafers. It was so refreshing to order this iced on a hot day and the banana flavor wasn't overpowering. This shop is nestled into the small streets of DT Raleigh in a charming way, like a corner in Diagon alley. It's walking distance from a park and many eateries. We all ordered pastries and lattes, then shopped for stickers and books. There's a table near the front and some more in the back by the cafe. Fun, curated collections of books and zines that we really appreciated. My hot oat matcha latte was delicious and so was my amazing cheddar scone. The baristas and owner were incredibly nice and friendly. It set the tone for a great day in DT Raleigh.
