My husband and I dined in at Wise Guys Pizzeria on Thursday July 19th. First impression, love! The chalk boards with all of the craft beers on tap is great. I also liked that you could see into the kitchen and the pizzas being cooked. There are tables, booths and well as seats at the bar. Even at 5:30pm on a Thursday evening the restaurant was quite busy and it only increased as the evening went on. We were seated right away at a booth near the bar. My husband and I both noted that the table could have used a good clean as well as the menus. Both were sticky. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink order. She made a great cider recommendation, Crackberry. Delicious! Our server brought us a fresh batch of the pizza dough garlic balls with marinara sauce. They are so darn good! It was hard not to eat the entire basket. It's a nice touch. We ordered one large thin crust pizza. One half was Chicago Joe's and the other half The Untouchable (at the recommendation of our server). I absolutely loved the Chicago Joe's. Great combination of flavours. Definitely would get it again. I did not try The Untouchables, but my husband said it was delicious and proceeded to eat three slices. While I loved the crust, my husband felt it was a bit under cooked. I feel that issue could be solved by asking the kitchen to leave the pizza in the oven slightly longer. The one thing we noticed was that it was extremely hot in the restaurant. Between the summer heat and the pizza ovens, the air conditioning was not keeping up and by the time we left we were both a little on the sweaty side and couldn't wait to sit in the car with the AC blasting on us. Don't waste your time or money. Took my 2 kids to have pizza/pasta on a Saturday night. Seated quickly, waiter took order promptly. Boy, was the food way off. My Daughter's lasagna way too spicy and oily for her to eat. My teenage Son was given the children's portion of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Shrimp Scampi had an excessive amount of capers and salt, the Don All Meat pizza was oily as well. When I told the Waiter the issues with the food shortly after being served, his reply was "oh, that's a drag" and walked away. No attempt to fix or resolve the issues at all. Had to ask for 3 small plates for the pizza on 3 separate occasions, my son had to get up and get the plates himself from the counter. When I paid at counter, I again told the waiter about the issues and got a reply of "Oh, that's too bad". There are MANY other places in DFW to spend hard earned money at that will provide a better level of service, food quality, and empathy to resolve an issue with their food. Feels like they didn't really care at all. That usually stems from poor staff training that trickles down from poor management. Folks, save your time and money. One of our favorite pizza places in DFW. Their staff goes above and beyond. We had our 1.5 year old with us and asked for milk for her. I didn't know this until later, but the server walked over to the grocery store to get milk for her! We haven't been able to make it back in a few months since we moved, but they are always so kind. Ok seriously, I'm from the North East and I've eaten many, many pizzas across Texas and find Wise guys to be the best real pizza in the entire state. Perfect crust, perfect amount of fresh bubbly hot cheese. I've read some negative reviews and have to say I have never experienced bad service at Wise guys. That's not to say unfortunate events might not have occurred, as they do in all eating establishments from time to time. Very good thin crust pizza. We ordered the Chicago Joe. The crust is not the typical Chicago cracker thin crust. It's at least a half inch thick and a little spongy. Was very tasty, however the crust has a depth of flavor and texture. The sauce was tangy but could use a little more of it considering it's a thin crust. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. Just had the Chicken Parmigiana on the lunch menu! Amazing. Thin chicken breast with tasty breading and great marinara sauce. I had them substitute penne for the angel hair out of personal preference which they gladly did. The Caesar salad was perfect and more than enough food for lunch. Took us 25 minutes to get our appetizer, never received plates or napkins for our appetizer. Was attended to once during our hour+ dining experience. Pizza was mediocre. The lack of customer service speaks volumes. The waiting staff spoke a maximum of 5 words to us. Everything something was brought to our table, no words were exchanged. Most of the staff was maskless, given they could've been vaccinated; but it doesn't seem like that style of establishment. When we prompted the waiter for napkins, we received 2 napkins for me and my guest. Overall terrible experience and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Have driven past this spot on many occasions and finally decided to stop and try the food. It's a bit smaller than I had expected, with a bar on the far end taking up a decent amount of space. Open kitchen in the back and then seating scattered in between. Booths along the windows and tables everywhere else. One thing I will say is that the place is LOUD. I mean, like you have to really struggle to have a conversation with your table. It's just the loud speakers playing music but at a very high level- not sure if this was exclusive to the night I visited or if that is a common thing. I believe they may have been short-staffed as our server took some time to get the order going and then deliver the food. We waited close to 15 minutes just to get a hello after we sat down. So loudness and slowness takes one star off. Like I said, maybe this was an off night- so the 5-star review is looming. The garlic bread knots served as a free app were amazing. Fresh, covered in buttery garlic and topped with fresh basil. So yummy. Red sauce served for dipping too. The menu is pretty excellent- lots of items to choose from. Apps, pizzas, salads, pastas, it was all there. Funny, we went into a pizza place but the table ended up ordering all pasta dishes. I had the house made spaghetti with meat sauce. It was delicious. The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. I like the patio seating, especially the tables, they're so cute I almost asked if they could make me one for my patio. I love the meatballs, the pizza is just the right amount of sauce, cheese, crust and topping and they are one of the few places around that sometimes has feisty blonde beer from Hop Fusion brewery. The garlic knots are sinful and make me break my low carb diet in an ugly way. The service is very friendly and they answer your menu questions and offer suggestions. Over the years, the other restaurants in that location haven't made it, but I think Wise Guys will. We need a neighborhood pizzeria in the Vine. read more

This review is solely based on the experience and not the food. As a recent transplant from NY I have been out and about to see if I can find some NY style pizza. I came across a place called Wise Guys Pizza. The name had a NY vibe to it so I walked in to check it out. Very nice looking place. I asked the girl at the counter, no older than 20 something, if the pizza was similar to NY style pizza at which point she answered me with "this ain't no Yankee pizza". I was taken back for a minute but she reiterated that with the same anger the first time she said it. This is far from the southern hospitality I have been experiencing from other businesses down here. I know that there will be a little something between the North and the South but this girl was angry and nasty about it. I spend WAY too much time trying to hunt down pizza in DFW that can satisfy my craving for a fantastic pie that will stand against that which I cannot munch on without a lengthy plane flight. Wise Guys has met that desire. 100% think this is the best pizza in DFW. Have never had a bad pie from them, and their delivery has gone without a hitch every time I've ordered. I'm catching up on reviews so this one is from several weeks ago. Tried this place out on a Saturday night for the first time with another couple. We wanted to try somewhere different so we made the 30-minute drive to Grapevine and Wise Guys. None of us were familiar with this particular restaurant, but it was recommended to us so why not check it out, right? It has a family atmosphere with a lot of pictures and memorabilia on the walls to keep the place unique. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Menu is pretty straightforward and there was plenty to choose from. I like to judge a Mexican food restaurant by their fajitas. Pizza joints get judged by their pepperoni or Margherita pizza. The 4 of us split a large pepperoni pizza and enjoyed a craft beer to wash it down. While I wanted it to be the best pizza ever, it wasn't. It wasn't awful either. Just an average pizza that didn't "wow" anyone or have unique character. None of us thought it was worth the 30-minute drive, but agreed we'd eat there again if in the neighborhood. I wouldn't steer anyone away, but I wouldn't tell anyone this is a Top 5 place either - at least not yet. read more

This place has deservingly earned my five stars. Well after trying this place for the first time, I've been there twice within the last three days to try different things. First of all this is a great family owned business that truly cares about their product and their community. I first tried this place on a Friday and it was pretty busy but were quickly sat and received garlic knots which was a delicious and nice surprise. This place not only has pizza but a pretty legit pasta and sandwich menu. Let's go through what I've tried... 1). The Milano Pizza I was hoping for something a bit more savory but it came across as a bit too sweet with the caramelized onions, still pretty good but I would look at maybe switching the sweet sausage for a traditional sausage... All personal preference though. 2). Make your own pizza Always a nice option to do whatever you want, but we went with pepperoni and green chili because I'm from Albuquerque and that's a go to for me. I wish it had more green chili but I'm so happy it's even an option. If they had pine nuts as an option that would've made it even better! 3). Chorizo Green Chili Pasta Don't just assume this place is all about pizza, turn the menu over and you find this. Penne is a great pasta to use with the white wine sauce and chorizo. One of my favorite pasta dishes I've had in a long time. NOTES: The pizzas come in four different sizes which are pretty easy to figure out how many people it serves as well as pricing. This is a great place for local craft beer and a constantly changing rotation in a nice bar area. They have beer dinners and pint nights that I look forward to checking out. One of the few places you can get growler fills. They have gelato... The strawberry was my favorite. If you haven't been here it's well worth a visit, and I'm sure once you do you'll become a regular because this is my new go to place. read more

We have ordered now for the last time from this place. They have once again, which is now four times got our order wrong. The pizza was ice cold, it took an hour and 20 minutes to get to us and everything in the order was wrong. If you go in person it is not so bad. The delivery and the customer service if they get something wrong, or shall I say WHEN they get something wrong is terrible. No one cares when you call that your order is messed up!!! When I called again complaining about the order, the man on the phone actually said to me can you calm down. He did not like the fact that I told him they are 4/4 with horrible delivery. My friend wanted to try this place out. No one up front waited for several minutes before we were seated. Initially he took our drink order and appetizer order. We ordered Tony's fried mac & cheese and Italian hot wings for appetizer. Tony's Fried mac & cheese is meh - just average -- really nothing special. So we ordered the wings and the server comes by and says that they are out of wings and only have 3 and it's on the house. How do you run out of wings? anyways it tasted good - the flavor tasted good but it reminded me of Tyson's wings you get from grocery store. We ordered the Chicago deep dish and classic pizza. We ordered the smaller size so we can try them out. We got the Chicago but it wasn't deep dish nor it wasn't anything "Chicago" about it. We were looking for the server and no one was around - I think he was taking a smoke break or taking a dump .... We were hungry so we just ate the pizza but the cheese wasn't even melted at all and it wasn't sticking to the dough. We never got the second pizza - luckily they didn't charge us for it.
