My friend and I went to see a comedian here and had SUCH a good time!! When we walked in, they scanned our IDs and asked who we were there to see. Once we told them, they were very clear about directing us where to go. We were in The Cabaret room. There was a lot of opening seating with options close and far from the stage. I didn't want to be a part of the show at all, so we sat in the back more. It did take a while for anyone to come take our order, but they have servers for food and drinks. We got a Diet Coke, mojito, and slice of cheesecake. The Diet Coke brew was good, and the server brought refills if I asked. The mojito was good and stronger than expected. The cheesecake was okay. The show was great. The openers were local comedians and really funny. I was happy to support them. The main act was funny. The acoustics were great, and it was easy to hear. This is a great spot for a night out with your friends or a date. The comedy was def more adult so might not be the place to bring your parents, but I'm sure that varies from comedian to comedian. Went to the Comedy Rumble at the Salt Lake Wise Guys location and experienced the most unnecessarily racist experience in my life hidden behind cheap jokes and "comedy." Every other joke was specifically about the "n word" with the host cosigning every single one. Including a joke about monkeys saying the N word and I quote "going ooh ooh ahh ahh...er." There was a set about "coons." This was not okay and very uncomfortable. Also just objectively not funny. Also to be clear, this is not about what people subjectively find funny. It's the fact that no one has a right to take apart racial trauma (especially racial trauma you don't share in) and use slurs or hint at slurs simply because people are too dumb to do anything but laugh at your mockery. Great experience! I attended a show featuring Steven Ho (a popular comedian on tik tok) and a few other comedians. The location is in a shopping mall. There wasn't a line when I went, but I've seen a line outside before. They take your ticket and have you wait for the room to open. While you wait there's a bar for drinks and a tv is on for entertainment. When you enter the room and find a seat a waiter will take your food order. Not the absolute best food ever, but it satisfies your snacking mood while watching the show. I will admit, try to get their early for the better views, we got their on time and had views off to the side of the stage, but I could easily see other views being blocked by the large podiums in the middle of the room. I love watching n my favorite comedians come to town and perform. I'm a fan of Kill Tony so anytime his guests are here, I buy tickets! Get here early for good seats. During a recent trip to Salt Lake City we were staying at a hotel a few blocks away from Wiseguys so we looked up what comedians were going to be there while we were in town and found one we wanted to see. We were able to just walk in the day of and buy tickets on the spot. This comedy club is located in the Gateway development so it has dedicated parking. The venue has mulitple different areas and rooms so there could be more than one event going on at the same time. The food was ok and service was friendly and we had a great time. This was my first time at Wiseguys Comedy, and I saw Mario Adrion here. I initially thought that the seating would be uncomfortable, but I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and spacious it was. There are tables that you can rest your food on directly in front of you. The only issue is that if you have somebody super tall sit in front of you, you will have trouble seeing the performer. The food is absolutely delicious! I tried the chicken tenders, and they were tender and flavorful. The pretzel was also one of the best pretzels I have had. They put some kind of seasoning on the fries, which make them unique and delicious. The service was fast and friendly, making sure you had your drink filled throughout the show. read more

While you won't find as many comedy clubs around here as you would in places like LA or NYC, Wiseguys is a real gem in Salt Lake. Their local talent is usually good (we've seen quite a few as warm ups for headliners) and the comedians they're able to bring in from around the country is pretty impressive. We've seen past and current SNL comedians and years ago we saw John Mulaney--still one of the most memorable shows we've seen to date. I also don't expect fine dining at any comedy club, but the food at Wiseguys is pretty great. We usually grab dinner when we go to a show instead of getting the other food options nearby because everything we've tried has been good (our favorite is the spinach and artichoke dip). Plus, we usually get there early to get good seats and eating always makes the time go by a little faster. read more

We like the space at the downtown location. The bar/lounge area is spacious and feels upscale. Most of the time you can choose between the 7 PM show or the 9 PM show and we really like having the option to go early or late. Wow! Adam Friesland was hysterical. I laughed so much. Great night out! Second time at a comedy club and definitely the best (could be we enjoyed the comedian more than the last, we saw Sammy Obeid.) The venue gives fun speakeasy vibes and definitely a great spot to hang before and after the show. Come at door opening if you want good seats. I wasn't hungry so I didn't get any food, but the fries from my neighbors looked good. The servers were on top of it. Quite impressed. Was worried that Sammy was going to do the same jokes that he has posted on social media, but he said, if he posts a joke he takes it out of his act. Also, every 6-8 months his act changes. Seating here is first come, first served, so if you're wanting guaranteed front row seating, plan on arriving at least an hour and a half before the show, as the best seats filled up fast. We arrived right as the doors opened and were impressed at how quick and convenient the check-in process was! My husband and I had our ID's out and ready to be scanned by the first employee and my husband gave his name (since he booked the tickets under it) to the second employee who confirmed his name was on a list, and we were directed into the club and were immediately able to grab front row seats to the show! The show started on time and ran smoothly with no technical issues. The seats were decent and I felt they were more than fine to sit in for the entire duration of the show. The seats come with an entire row long bar-like table that makes it easy for you to eat / drink while waiting for / watching the show. Our server, who checked in with us very shortly after we sat down, was fast and attentive, and our food and drinks came out quickly. We honestly had a positive experience with every staff member we encountered here! Overall, we felt the quality of the food for the price you pay wasn't bad. We'd give the food we tried a collective 3.5 stars. Ever so slightly above average. Our cocktails were definitely tasty, but this club is in Utah, so don't expect very strong ones. If you're looking to enjoy a casual night out, go with a cocktail. For those who want to go above and beyond, order a shot. The spinach artichoke dip was great, but they give you a smaller amount of it with a larger portion of chips. I have a feeling this is a strategy to convince you to buy more dip for an extra $2.50. However, given that it's $10 vs the seemingly standard $12+ at other eating establishments, perhaps it's more worth it? My chicken caesar wrap was good! The dressing inside was tangy and I felt it had just the right amount of filling. It seemed to come apart slightly more easily than other wraps I've had elsewhere. It wasn't the best caesar wrap I've ever had, but it certainly wasn't the worst! The shoestring fries that came with it were crispy and seasoned well! I like my fries salty, and salty they most certainly were. My husband enjoyed his burger, but had the same view as me that it wasn't anything particularly special. Five start performance by Joe Dombrowski and five star company! The checkin process was quick, bathrooms were very clean, and the chairs were verrrrrry well used. It's time to replace some cushions on those seats! The food is lackluster and service was a bit scattered. I highly recommend a mojito and urge you to note that unlike most places in Utah there are no refills on soda. Went to see Rob Schneider, who was great. But the serving staff totally fucked up our experience. We arrived about 15 mins late and quietly made our way to the elevated platform area, left of stage. We took a seat and after about 10 mins, with about 3 different servers walking by without even a "hello", flagged one down to which we were told by the guy "I'm not your server, I'll let her know". Then another young lady walked by, almost an identical response "I'll let your server know". At this point we're about 40 mins in and then all of a sudden we see the same dude from earlier walk by telling all "his" tables that it's last call... needless to say, we never got a drink. My boyfriend and I love to go to comedy shows back home and we were thrilled to have a chance to attend the late show Sunday night while visiting Salt Lake. Back home we go to the improv, but we were pleasantly surprised with everything at wiseguys! To start, there weren't any long lines to wait to get inside the venue. We arrived about 45 minutes before showtime and we loved that there was a lounge and bar area to hang out in before. We grabbed drinks and were guided to grab a seat by one of the workers. We were able to get awesome seats in the third row. There were three TV's to watch before the show started as well which was nice. We did not order any food, but the servers and bartenders were very nice, quick, and attentive. We saw Tim Dillon and he did not disappoint!! Both of his openers were also hilarious. The venue and procedure of getting checked in/seated was so much better than other comedy venues we've been to. Whenever we're back in the area, we absolutely want to come back for a show! 10/10 recommend. read more

I've come here several times over the years and have always had a great experience. We came here over the weekend to see Hannah Berner perform after not having been here for a couple of years. I forgot how much I love it here! It's a more intimate venue, which I absolutely love. Everywhere I've been seated in this venue, I've had a great view of the stage. Since you don't get an assigned seat with your ticket, the seating is first come first served. Their staff seats you when you arrive to the venue, so get here early if you're one of the people who loves to be up front and close to the stage at a comedy show! The staff is super friendly and organized when it comes to the seating. Our show started at 5:30, and we got here a little bit after 5pm and still got some great seats with a great view of the stage. Honestly, the venue is so intimate that I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. I would also arrive early if you want to eat while you're at the show. The food comes out super quickly, but by the time we ordered, we had to eat our nachos in the dark which was a little difficult. Our server stopped by once a few minutes after we sat down, and then again for last call. Again, would recommend getting here earlier if you're wanting to order multiple drinks and eat your food. They have a whole bar/restaurant seating area that's open before the show as well and it's a great place to sit down and have a drink and some food before the show starts. They have a pretty standard menu - salads, burgers, nachos, wraps and beers/wine/cocktails. The food is decent and the servers are great. The food came out super quick! A great venue with a great staff that books a lot of fun shows. All of the shows that I've been to have a local comic that em-cees the show, which is always cool to see. read more

Had to order two different drinks for myself bc everything in Utah is weird hahaha and I couldn't get a double or the same thing for myself so I didn't have to come back out during the show. However they have table service too. They have food but I wouldn't suggest it unless you plan to get drunk. The stage was a good size and lots of seating. I can't say I was impressed with the first comedians but the main guy was pretty funny. Something to do in Salt Lake but I'd suggest looking up the headliner before going. read more

I love this place! Being from Chicago, I really miss dinner shows, but this makes me feel like I'm home. Every seat is a good seat, and if you get there early enough you can have drinks in the lounge, too. The staff (door, bartender, servers, and bouncers) are genuinely fun people who seem glad to be there. Everyone took excellent care of us, especially the servers. Our server checked on us every 30 minutes or so, but lost steam towards the second half when we could have used another beer. We didn't work very hard to signal him either, so no problem with that. The no heckling policy is really great because that can really ruin a show. Calling out or otherwise distracting from the act is very well managed by staff who will speak to the disruptive customer at least once, and are prepared to help serious offenders to the door if needed. It is so refreshing to see respectful behavior expected of everyone in a comedy club where unmanaged situations can get heated and even scary. (Bar fights in Chicago are no joke!) We ordered the pretzels and cheese, chips with artichoke dip, and a cheeseburger. The food was good, and their beer selections were decent. Went to Open Mike Night on Tuesdays this evening and it is an interesting experience. Amateurs and beginners can get 3 minutes each to give it a shot. Some had some good material and others need to work on their delivery. Some were downright awful and the last couple of comics tonight pushed the boundaries to offensive, but this is all part of the fun of open mike sets. It makes for a great date night or girls' night out. The Gateway parking garage cost only $6 for over 4 hours. read more

My visit to Wiseguys Comedy in Downtown Salt Lake City was my first time ever going to a comedy show. I have seen TikToks of parts of a comedy show but other than that, I had absolutely no idea what to expect going into the venue. My ticket wasn't a bad price--it was under $30 but it was a bit annoying the way they added on about $5 of extra fees, on top of the ticket. I'd much prefer transparency when I am purchasing my ticket, rather than a service fee, convenience fee, etc.. Not to mention that I have absolutely no idea where those fees are going. Honestly, it was a bit confusing figuring out where I needed to go to get in. This is especially hard when you are coming from the south west side of the building because the first doors you see are definitely not the first ones you go into. Obviously they can't change the layout but some better signage would be nice. Once I was in, I was able to cop a spot pretty quick. They had a lounge area outside of the studio that people were hanging out in too. The drinks were good, the shots were...shots, and the food was surprisingly really good. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and I thought it was prepared perfectly and had great taste. I did not like their ranch & thought their fry sauce was better. I also felt like the food was priced pretty well. The show itself was good. The comedians were funny and I love when they engage with the crowd a little bit. Another perk to this specific Wiseguys location, is the location. It is located right within The Gateway Mall. This is also a bit of a con because it can be hard to find parking, so plan accordingly. I would definitely consider coming down to Wiseguys in SLC for another show! read more

The comedy show was good. The service for drinks was absolutely horrible. I don't think I actually had alcohol in my drink. They took 30 min to bring the drinks and came with the receipt so couldn't even ask for seconds. Definitely wouldn't recommended if you're going to rely on drinks or food. My boyfriend had never been to a comedy club, so I had to change that. I have great memories of going to the comedy club every Thursday when I was in high school (back when they were at a different location). Their "new" location is great. We parked in the parking garage and took the elevator to the ground level. When walking out of the elevator area, Wise Guys was to the left of Costa Vida (close to 400). We bought our tickets online, so we just gave them my last name while they were checking our IDs (you have to be 21+ to enter). We then followed the arrows on the ground to the theater room. I definitely suggest getting there at least 30 minutes early if you want a good seat. We got there 15 minutes early and the seats were slim pickings. There was a QR code on the table so you could scan it and look at the menu. Not long after we got settled, a waiter came by to see what we'd like. We had just eaten, so we grabbed some drinks. The Moscow mule was amazing!!! The show was fantastic and we had a great time. We will definitely do this again, but next time we'll order some food too. read more

I've been to many shows at Wise Guys and have enjoyed every experience. The staff is friendly and their lineup has been pretty impressive. A lot of bigger names sell out quickly so if someone you like is coming to one of their locations, it's good to get a ticket as quickly as possible. Parking at Gateway is always tricky on a weekend so it's good to plan an extra 15 minutes to park and walk to the location. If you're going with friends, you'll want to get there a bit earlier because seating is on a first come first serve basis and a huge part of a comedy show is watching the comedians expression. Their menu mainly consists of comfort food but there and few options for dietary restrictions. Their drink menu is very reasonable and servers are always attentive. It's also really great to experience standup comedy with other people laughing along, the jokes are funnier when you're with a group of people. Highly recommend. read more

First time here and I'm giving it 3 stars because of the service! Super friendly front door staff but extremely slow slow wait staff! For the entire 1 hour show our waitress only came by 1 time! I was dying of thirst and tried to get another person to help and was told oh I'm not your waitress. Ugh ok how about grabbing her for me!
