The food was tasty especially the wings. We were offered free samples of their special sweet tea and it was delicious- definitely ordered that. The menu also contained lots of options that sounded directly. The service was lovely too. Greeted warmly and seated quickly. Food came out fast and hot except for the fries which were delicious and worth the wait. It did get busier as we were eating, and she continued to maintain a very pleasant attitude as she greeted people who did have to wait for seating. We also got a to go order of the jerk wings and a slice of Keylime pie. I would highly recommend this place. Their ambience is cozy and the decor is quite eclectic. Not sure what theme they're going for. Was recommended by a friend and glad I tried it!

Me and my friend decided to stop in here for lunch. The restaurant was very nice it wasn't busy so we were able to choose our table. The food was amazing and perfectly seasoned. The tea was very good as well. I will definitely be coming back here to eat again.

This may be the best kept secret in Montgomery. Cajun flavors and such great food! Chicken kabobs were tender and rice was cooked perfect. Went back the next day for the shrimp pasta dinner. Huge portions and great taste!

We ordered Bayou Classic & Pasta Bowl with Shrimp and Andouille. Both of the dishes were okay, but would have been better had they been served hot instead of just warm. Service was good. We went in a Monday. It's a very casual place with relaxed vibe. I probably wouldn't go back because it was overall disappointing.

We pulled into Wishbone just as it opened for lunch on a Tuesday for a bite to eat before continuing our self-guided, four-day Civil Rights Tour. We were delighted! The food is classic New Orleans with some culinary surprises - all at one-fourth the cost of a fine NOLA restaurant. Order anything with mushrooms! What a lovely sauce on the stuffed mushroom appetizer, and the mushrooms in the Louis Armstrong had the taste and texture of tender, juicy steak. The fabulous work going on in the kitchen extends to the clean and bright dining room where the kind and attentive staff is focused making you comfortable. The day was hot, and as we walked in we were offered iced tea immediately. Cold drinks were at our table almost before we sat down. My husband had his usual unsweet freshly brewed tea but I indulged in the sweet house tea - oh, wow! The house tea is fruity and perfectly balanced. Not too sweet and not too fruity. So thirst-quenching! Then, we were brought a small complimentary soup to whet our appetite. So nice! The moment we tasted the soup - a basic, house-made vegetable soup - we knew we were in for a fabulous meal - the broth was deep and rich and the vegetables were not overcooked. For lunch, my husband (who is Cajun) and I ordered the Louis Armstrong and The Bayou Classic. They were both excellent, but distinctly different. It would be difficult to pick a favorite.

Another good Montgomery spot. Parking in a private lot, good service but oh my gosh they have amazing iced tea. I mean, seriously their I ed tea should be listed as a class III substance, it is that addicting. We had a big lunch that day do my son and I did not sample much. But here is what we had. Yea - sorry, I repeat it is amazing Veggies - this is a side dish, but it was heavenly. Bayou Classic - the shrimp were fabulous but the crab was just not my thing. A good dish, that really can be great (and maybe it is on other nights). The Thursday night we went the bar and patio were off the chain. In fact, I don't you will find a better party on a Thursday.

I'm so very torn in my review. The atmosphere was great. And the food was freaking AMAZING!!! But they were very understaffed. And that impacted service and the timeliness of our orders coming out. I dined with a party of 18, and we made the reservation one week in advance, so the staff knew to expect us. Unfortunately, there was also a birthday party at the same time. And it appeared as though there was one server for the birthday party, one server for our party of 18, and potentially one cook. So everything was slow. But again, the food was worth the wait. We definitely shared food and EVERYTHING was great! Things slowed down once we received our food, and we were able to compliment the cook. She definitely deserved the praise!

The service was incredible. The waitress was so pleasant and persistent in which it was such a pleasant visit. The food was delicious that I ordered delivery the next day . They have a sweet tea with pineapple juice which was so tasty. The ambiance was nice and I will be returning soon.

The service was ok being that they only had one server for the whole entire restaurant! It took about 20 minutes to get our drink order and then another 10 to get our drinks. Then another 40 to get our food ! I had the stuffed chicken breast w/ grilled shrimp and garlic pressman broccoli. THE ENTIRE PLATE WAS COLD ! When I advices the server he stated "let me go reheat it" 3 minutes later it was back in front of me microwaved. the broccoli was burned and the shrimp had gotten tough... highly disappointed.... but the tea was good. And the collard green soup is AMAZING (when it's not sold out)

The food was wonderful!! Each plate was neatly arranged & appetizing. The food was mouth-watering delicious. Nothing was needed to season the food. The server was courteous and top of everything. Our seats were nicely placed with ease for all those who attended my mother's birthday party. My mother raved on and on about the ambiance & food. Thank you to Wishbone Cafe staff, cooks, & servers for making celebrating my mother's 69th birthday an awesome experience & memory.

Great fries, better than McDonald's. Well seasoned. Crispy to perfection. Simple but robust flavor.

This is my first time hearing about this small place. I walked into cafe around 12ish, the business wasn't too busy during lunch. There was three working the food station and the other guy was working cashier station. I placed my order at the front counter and drink machine was broken so I had drink tea or water. My order was done by time I finish going to the bathroom. I ordered the Bayou Classic, it comes with two mini crab cakes, a few shrimp, dirty rice, and some type of homemade white sauce with toast. It was soooooo good I ate the entire thing meal. read more

Just had an awesome lunch there !!!! First time at the new location. It's gorgeous !!!! So comfortable and interesting. We were given samples of the pineapple tea and collard green soup when we were seated. Delicious !!! I ordered the collard green soup and the lemon pepper wings. Absolutely heavenly. My companion had John Ed's Po'Boy and fries. She was quite happy to the last bite. The customer service was excellent- everyone was so friendly and nice. Definitely a place to go have great food in a relaxing atmosphere without having to deal with the traffic of Eastchase or the parking of downtown. Will be back soon !!!!! read more

We tried this for a family celebration. The margaritas were not properly mixed. We had 3 of them and each one was very different - one too strong, one too much mix - almost like they slopped constituents into glasses and didn't blend anything. I ordered the scallops and shrimp entree. The others were served and 30 minutes later I went to inquire about my order. They finally brought out an item and I discovered there were no scallops in the "scallops and shrimp" serving. I inquired about this and was told they were out of scallops and decided to serve it with only the shrimp. They didn't inform me they were out of scallops and see if I wanted something else - they just made a decision and served me a half entree. Very disappointing. We would not return. read more

I wish I could personally speak with the owner of this restaurant. The food was so good however her staff is literally killing her. I'm staying nearby in a hotel so I called to see if they were on any delivery apps. The guy who answered didn't know the correct app. When I finally figured it out I called back to see if the order had been picked up. He put me on hold literally until my phone died. As I sat listening to the conversations going on in the background I just shook my head. If the owner is looking at this, consider new staff. Your cook is amazing however the rest of them are bleeding you. read more

We ordered takeout from Wishbone cafe and ultimately the food was really good! We got three kinds of pasta, and though they all were similar in style (cream based sauce, noodles with seafood and chicken) they all had depth in flavor and the heat level was just right. My only complaint was that our food came a little sloshed around, and didn't look like it had been packed carefully. Other than that though it was good! read more

My crab claws were flavorless and smelled of ammonia (meaning they were old). My bayou classic's rice was mushy, my crab cakes were burnt on both sides and they used imitation crab meat inside of them. Shrimp were dried out/over cooked read more

How this place has the ratings it has is suspect to me. It was horrible. We went in at 5:00. There was no one eating- several at the bar. We were there for several minutes finally a waiter appeared and told us he would be back for a drink order. Afternoon another 10 minutes another guy shows up and asked if we're ready to order we told them we are not but would like to order our drinks. My husband proceeded to ask for a drink from the bar. He said they bar was closed. Closed. I asked if they were closing early and he said no. We ordered our food and it was 25 minutes before we got it. It was lukewarm at best. It was not good. Our waiter never came back and checked on anything and we had to ask someone to grab him for our check. This place is really bad. I would not recommend. read more

Walked into Wishbone Cafe with my family of six at about 7:45 on a Saturday night. Place was about half full. Guy behind the counter said, "How many in your party?" I told him, "Six." He looked at me and with an attitude said, "We have a reservation policy for parties of more than five," and then stood there and stared at me and my family, surrounded by empty tables. I asked him if he wanted us to eat at his restaurant at which point he said we could sit at the front of the restaurant like he was deigning to have us take up space in his restaurant. How about you sit people in your half empty restaurant and ask them if they will call ahead the next time they visit? read more

We were in Montgomery today and decided to let Yelp find us a place to eat lunch. Boy, did yelp do a great job finding this little gem for us! We ordered the Bayou Classic and the Wishbone Sampler. The Sampler had chicken salad, riblets, and wings. My hubby was in heaven! I sampled one of the riblets and I can see why! They were delightful, with just the right amount of sweet heat in the sauce! The Bayou Classic had two crab cakes, several shrimp, with a Cajun rice with a cream sauce, and two pieces of toast. While it was very good, the crab cakes were lukewarm. That was the only complaint I had. Service was prompt and friendly! Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and will definitely go back the next trip to Montgomery! read more

We ate here last Wednesday night and we were so glad that we stopped in. The food and atmosphere were really the best! I got the Bayou Classic which was really good. My husband got some type pf burger and he was very pleased with it. I tried a bite and it had the best flavor! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The service was top notch. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend of my Pastor. The restaurant is located on the corner of a large shopping center. Upon arrival, the outward appearance was simple yet inviting. As we entered the restaurant, staff immediately greeted us and walked us to a table. The decor was modern and chic with a massive chandelier that sat in the middle of the room. The bathrooms were clean. Samples of the collard green soup and the house signature was provided. The collard green soup was AMAZING. The waitress was extremely nice and answered any questions concerning the menu. I ordered an appetizer which was French bread topped with a creole sauce. Delicious!! For my entree, I ordered the the bayou which included two crab cakes and shrimp over a bed of rice with creole sauce drizzled over it. I enjoyed every bite. I HIGHLY recommend. Oh, I can't forget the banana pudding!! Loved it!! Next time you're in the Montgomery, stop by for lunch!! read more

Don't let the inconspicuous exterior and odd location fool you, this is one of the best places for seafood in Montgomery. Take your time enjoying the complimentary tea and delicious collard green soup before diving into an entree. You can't go wrong with the Bayou Classic, though everything on the menu is well-seasoned and very flavorful. If you're not a seafood person, the quesadilla is a strong option. Also don't hesitate to get a full order of soup. The collard green soup and gumbo are both killer. read more

Best combination of food and service in the entire city! Portions are great. Taste is superb. Prices are fitting. Crab claws are a must eat! The seasonings and sauces used are a perfect fit. Highly recommend. If you are looking for a one of a kind food eating experience then this is a must go to place to eat, lunch, date night, any time it's WELL WORTH IT. read more

First and foremost, I was thoroughly pleased with my food! I rated this restaurant a 4 because when we first arrived it took a while for us to be greeted but I noticed a lot of people at the bar enjoying themselves which was nice to see. The tilapia with cream sauce is so flavorful! I was surprised to find the sausage in the Cajun rice but it was a great addition. My boyfriend got the steak and fries and everything tasted great, the steak was medium- well but was not tough or hard to eat at all! Try it! read more

The food here is really good. A bit expensive for such a small portion of food. They have the same prices for lunch and dinner. They are in a much better location now, so you can very easily get in, out and on your way without the hassle of traffic at Taylor Jct. If you like cajun with a southern twist i suggest you try!! read more

Love wishbone. They have great wings with a variety of flavors and lots of Cajun style dishes. I love their punch! It's really good, so try some of they haven't run out. I'm glad they're getting a larger location. I usually try to go after the lunch rush because it's really popular with the Baptist East staff and it gets crowded really quickly. The only thing is if you have any food allergies or don't eat pork, ask a lot of questions about what's in dishes. Can't wait to go to their new location on Atl Hwy. read more

Ummmmm, one word. Authentic! I had the chicken shrimp pasta and they are not shy with the meat! The sauce is amazing. My girl had the bayou classic and her little 100 lb self finished it all. Uncle got the club sandwich with potato salad and it had outstanding results as well. read more

I was in Montgomery for a basketball game at ASU and found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. After looking at the menu online, I did not expect this to be in the location that it was, but I had already looked at the menu and was really looking forward to it. After arriving I was given the complimentary collard green soup, and while I am not a fan of collard greens at all, this soup was incredible. For dinner, I had my eye on the Pasta Mardi Gras in advance so I stuck with that. WOW! So delicious! The flavors were great and the sausage was absolutely incredible. The service was reasonably fast, but I did have to ask for a refill which is one thing that drives me nuts at a restaurant. That's the only thing that kept me from going five stars. But don't let that rating fool you on the food. It was five star quality! read more

We went here after a soccer tournament nearby and I fell in love. It was the first time in a long time I went to a restaurant and thought WOW. The turnip green soup... amazing! If they didn't pass out samples i can honestly say I probably never would have thought to or wanted to try it, but WOW. The truffles (stuffed mushrooms) wow. Everything we had was awesome. In addition the staff was great too, super friendly and helpful. I'd go out of my way to make a trip back here again and probably will next time we pass through Montgomery. read more

I visited back in 2010 and the food was good. Stopped through again and for the price I'm not impressed. I had the collard greens soup, which was good. I also ordered the bayou classic if you ever had real crab cakes like I have coming from Maryland, please pass. I tasted no real crab meat just imitation crabs and breadcrumbs. Not worth $14 read more

I called on Wednesday and made arrangements for a party of seven to be seated out on their patio. It was my sisters birthday/retirement lunch. I was told to call back the next day because they weren't even sure they were going to be open on Saturday. So I called back the next day spoke with a gentleman, of no name, who said they would accommodate my seven guests on the patio with no problem. I even let the second person I spoke to know that I was instructed to call back on the second day to make sure they were even going to be open. Oh yes ma'am he said we will be open on Saturday and with seven people we will accommodate you outside Show up on Saturday with seven people and they will not accommodate me on the patio. There was one couple in their establishment at the time we arrived. I called before I got there, when I was told that they would not accommodate us and the co-owner Tamara did not want to listen to my S**T and handed the phone off to someone else. A gentleman got on the phone ask me who I spoke to, I could not tell him and he said that the person I spoke to must've been the guy that doesn't work on Saturdays. And I told him I appreciated his accommodation and I was going to leave him a nice review and he laughed and hung up in my face. They are overpriced, but my sister loves their food, it was a special day for her and they ruined it. All because they wouldn't serve me and my guests outside. My advice, go to Bonefish. Collard green soup is my favorite! The food here is amazing! I love love love The Boardroom Burger stuffed with spinach and cream cheese. All of the seafood plates have always been great. My only complaint has been service. I've never gotten what I would consider exceptional service at night. Lunch is usually quick and easy, but dinner there seems to struggle. Waiting pretty long to even be acknowledged as a guest has happened more than once, then waiting forever to get a drink after that. But the food keeps me coming back! read more

Having worked in both the retail and the restaurant industry, service is a big deal to me and these days it is hard to find! Wishbone has it. Every time I have visited, I have been happily surprised but the service, while not always fast, they are always attentive. These people have worked very hard and as a result have built a successful business. Food is great, people are better! Give Wishbone a shot, I don't think you will regret it! read more

I had an amazing experience at Wishbone Cafe! I ordered the Stuffed Chicken Breast, and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly grilled and packed with flavor. What really made the visit special was AJ, my server and hostess. She was incredibly professional, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire experience. Great local mom and pop coffee shop.. I try to swing in when I'm in the area and have time, I've always had quick and efficient service when I stop in.
