This is a quaint farm winery with chickens roaming free. Very unpretentious and reasonably priced compared to many others. You can enjoy a view of the Shenandoah Park skyline from their outdoor seating. Indoor seating appears limited. They don't do a normal tasting like most other places. Therefore, we bought a flight of 4 wines for $14. We could pick whichever available ones we wanted (aside from wine club) and they put them in the appropriate order for us. I liked all the wines and bought the Personphone rose and the Wisteria viogner. They provide a 3.5% discount if you pay cash. Most bottles were under $30 (before the discount.) This place was an incredible find by my partner. We recently headed out here for my birthday weekend with our 2 kids, both of whom are 5 years old and have told us on more than one occasion that "wineries are boring!" I get it! As a kid, wineries tend to be geared towards the drinking adults in the room. The beauty about Wisteria Farm is that it keeps both groups in mind! My kids loved everything about this place. It is full of live chickens, has a playground, many outdoor games, fields to run through, and a whole kids corner with games, puzzles and even crayons and coloring books. This allows the parents to get some peace and enjoy a drink. The atmosphere was perfect. Not gonna lie, I'm a very specific wine drinker. So while I didn't love all the wines I tried, I did still appreciate them. They offer other types of drinks as well. I ended up enjoying the cider that they offered, both in cans and on draft. This place is a wonderful find. And even if you don't have kids, it's a great spot since most of the kids on our visit spent their time outside while the parents relaxed either out with them or near the serving bar. read more

Unfortunately, this winery didn't hit the mark for us. We ordered two flights and were disappointed with most of our selections--3 out of 4 just didn't land. The tasting room was cute, but the outdoor space looked like it could use some upkeep. With so many great wineries nearby, we'd recommend skipping this one. read more

A cute little family run winery, this was the best place to stop for an afternoon drink following a morning hike. We chose it because it was dog- and kid-friendly - there are many outdoor tables (and a few inside as well) sprinkled throughout the lawn, along with a small children's play area and a pen with ducks, chickens and sheep. The wine was good and we even bought skeins of yarn (from their sheep!) and fresh eggs to take back to our Airbnb for breakfast. We didn't purchase any food on site, but they had some snacks like chips, crackers, summer sausage and cheese. read more

Such a wonderful little winery! We found this place while looking for wineries near our airBnB, and we were so glad to have come across it! While small, the place is very charming and has a little something for everyone on the menu (including mead and hard cider for those who don't like wine). We enjoyed the beautiful views, live music, and farm animals on the property. There is some indoor seating, as well as a variety of outdoor seating options. Beautiful place! First, there is plenty of parking spaced in 2 parking lots. Upon arrival, we picked a nice table outside. Then went inside to get drinks. Right now he are letting one group in at a time. We waited a few mins for the group in front of us to finish. When we got inside, we had the choice of tastings or a bottle. We decided to start with tasting. The staff member was delightful. She walked us through the different flavors and we all bought a tasting flight to start. She also explained that the grounds was open for roaming. We went back outside and enjoyed our drinks. There was one or 2 that I really enjoyed. After the tasting, we decided to buy a bottle. We were able to take our drinks as we roamed around, which we did. The farm is gorgeous! The animals are on the left right when you walk down the path. Then all the vines line the pathway, and all the way at the end is a pond/river. We had a great time here, such beautiful views & nice for a relaxing evening. read more

We had the best time at Wisteria and this was our favorite part of the trip. Not far from Luray Caverns, we stopped here for a date night. It's quaint, very cute, and the owners were so friendly. We tried a wine flight and had a cheese board. My favorite were the spicy honey sticks and the spicy wine..such a nice touch for a girl from the south looking for something sweet and spicy. They had an open walking trail through the vineyard that lead to a creek lit up with fireflies. There was indoor and outdoor seating, porch swings, and the owners even let us stay past closing time to have another glass and enjoy the mountain sunset. Wisteria was always a unique location, mainly due to the free-roaming chickens and ducks and the sheep they have on the property. The new owners upped the ante and made the place even better. The wine is top notch (the old owners made decent wine but nothing really spectacular, except the rare red Carmine that they did). I never had a Viognier so tasty before. I think introducing the Viognier to oak improves the quality and it actually resembles a chardonnay - so even though there are no chardonnay options (at least as of this writing), their oaked Viognier would be a good substitute. The off-dry Viognier is a touch sweeter but not heavy sweet. I enjoyed the recent experiences here so much I joined the wine club. A must-visit if you love wine and you're visiting Luray / Page County. read more

Absolutely LOVED this winery! Parking was not much of a problem and they had an overflow parking down the street if they started filling up. They offered wine tasting, but I decided to just get a bottle of their sweet red 2019 ADONIS. ADONIS was perfection so I highly recommend that one. They had their chickens just roaming around and they really will walk up to you while you're sitting there drinking wine. that was really really cool to experience. Wonderful vineyard and very family friendly. Bring your kids and let them play in the mud kitchen while you take a much needed rest and enjoy a wine flight. Lots of shaded seating. Staff is always so helpful. Wines are delicious- my favorites are the Adonis and Pino Gris. They also have local ciders from Old Hill hard ciders. Non alcoholic sparkling grape juice is available if someone in your party doesn't drink (or you have kids like mine that LOVE sparkling grape juice!) Whenever my toddler won't nap we bring her here and she's instantly happy. A must visit! read more

Nice little hangout that's a working farm. The wines are more of your 'easy drinking' vintages, as opposed to what you'd want to store away in your cellar for a few years. But being a working farm, they have 4 acres of vines (most of their wines are estate) and some farm animals, including chickens that strut around like they own the place. Their background is kinda neat. The husband/wine maker came from Lebanon, where his family apparently made wine. The family settled in this town in the mid-2000s, and in 2009 opened the winery. The painting on the tasting room's wall is what his home in Lebanon looked like. My service was good, but the wines weren't especially complex. If you like sweet wines, you may find a few you'd like. The only one that stood out to me was the Asharoot, a white blend (I didn't get the grapes). read more

Today was our second trip to wisteria in several years, we travel a bit to get to Luray when we get the chance. I love the location and homey feel of this vineyard. The chickens are fun and the wine goes down easy. We're no wine snobs or anything but enjoy the whites and blends the most. The sangria was a bit too minty for me so I'd pass on that rose`blend next time. We bring snacks and enjoy the sunshine in the yard. read more

When our original plans to visit the Luray Caverns didn't pan out (extremely crowded/huge line) we searched for neighboring wineries (on Yelp, of course) to stop by on the way back home. It's both a farm and a vineyard so among the grapes being grown were also chickens freely roaming around, sheep hanging out and vegetables being grown in the garden. We had such a good time hanging out after sampling the wine. The couple who run the place are extremely nice, even offering extra pours. The cost is $5 for 5 or $8 for all 10, AND you get to keep the glass. My friend and I liked the reds and each took a bottle home. Since this stop wasn't in our original plans, we feel really lucky to have found it. If you're headed to the caverns, be sure to stop by on the way there or back. read more

My husband enjoyed the wine more than I did, but the 2009 Traminette was pretty good. He liked the Merlot. The tasting costs $5 each, and it includes the glass. We loved bringing our young daughter to this farm/winery. She enjoyed the chickens, sheep, dogs, and the leisurely walk to the creek to splash around and throw rocks. There are picnic tables everywhere, so you can grab a bottle and some snacks from the tasting room and find your own favorite location. The prices were excellent - $5 or $11 tasting (for 5 or 11 wines, respectively), the snacks were good (manchego!), and the service was great. Their varietals are unique and very floral, it seemed. This winery rocks. How can you go wrong with farm animals to watch and great wine?! Kudos to the guy working behind the counter for fitting us in within two minutes of arriving even though there was a massive family reunion group already there in front of us. Greatly appreciated! 8 wines for 8 bucks for the tasting-great deal. The Voigner was our fave (sooooooooo good) and we got a bottle to take outside. We sat on the wooden swing and drank our wine and watched the animals. (That swing was fantastic and we loved how it was right in front of the animals.) Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. This would be a great winery to bring kids too as well because of the animals. So glad we came here. This is the closest winery to the town of Luray. It's small, but pleasant. There are lots of wines to taste and with the $5 tasting fee you get to keep the glass. All of the wines were nice. Their dessert wine, and overall their white wines, were our favorites. They had a couple of nice pink wines too. Ok, and the reds weren't bad either. The staff were friendly and enjoyable. The tasting room is small, but cozy. There are some gift items and a fireplace. Outside is a farm, including sheep, chickens, a couple of roosters, etc. They have a couple of tables and chairs set-up outside, even a nice wooden porch swing. And you can purchase a glass of wine and go sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. The bottles of wine were very reasonably priced. We walked away with two of them and a small gift for my mom. It's on a beautiful farm. And the host was wonderful and very accommodating. We were able to try all the wines and receive a complimentary glass for eight dollars. I suggest the sweet Deasy. The place is really nice with lots of outdoor seating. They have a small farm with sheep and chicken running around. The wines were actually really good and it was $8 to try 8 different wines. We purchased "velvet" which was a combination of white and red wines. They were decently priced. They only have a tasting room and not a "tour" and no cool barrels to show. My husband and I had the best experience at Wisteria Farm and Vineyard yesterday! Luckily, we saw on their website Friday that they were looking for volunteers to come out on Saturday to help with their final harvest. Mussa, the owner greeted us as soon as we got there, showed us what we had to do, and then told us when we were finished they would provide a lunch for us. It was fun and gratifying to say the least. When we were finished with the harvest, we had a fantastic fried chicken lunch with many different samples of wines. Then we helped with the wine making process. It was quite awesome! Then we had a wine tasting and then we were provided with glasses of our favorite wines!! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They don't have a big selection of wines, but the small selection that they have is versatile - from dry to smokey to sweet - they got everything! Loved this place! So cute and charming. We did the "grand" wine tasting - 11 wines (includes all wines on the sweet and dry lists). Only $12 and included 2 souvenir wine glasses! The owner and his wife also were the ones pouring and hosting and were a joy to talk to and get to know. They have a nice fire place in the wine tasting room, and comfy tables and chairs - feels like you're sitting in a friend's living room...except your friend owns a winery and a flock of sheep. Bonus for dog lovers: they have 2 adorable, sweet dogs that love getting some love walking around! The wine was great - we ended up getting a bottle to take home and had 2 more full glasses while we were there.
