Customer service was terrible! The movers held my stuff for a whole month, brought it to my door and then pulled off with it because they try to charge me more than what I was quoted for the driver was charged in front of my door for trying to hit us with the truck‼

This is intended to be a detailed review of my experience with the United States Moving Services (USMC) of Fayetteville Georgia. Based on my experience I would highly recommend avoiding doing business with this company. I went with USMC because their rate seemed reasonable. Being a veteran, I recognized their company name USMC resembled that of the Marine Corp, (I suspect that is intentional), and they profess to be a family-owned business. However, trying to speak to the owner never happened no matter how many times I called and specifically asked to speak to an owner. I entered into a contract with USMC on November 9, 2022, with a move date of December 12, 2022, and a delivery date of December 16, 2022. I provided USMC Customer rep "William" with a detailed list of my household effects (HHE) which was used to determine the initial cost estimate was $3150 to be paid in three installments. I was called again on December 10, 2022, to fine tune my HHE holdings. Bear in mind this call came two (2) days before the move was to take place, which put me in a bind because it didn't give me sufficient time to fine another mover on such short notice. During this HHE assessment the cost more than doubled. It went from an initial estimate of $3150 to a grand total of $7945. I felt stuck since I had to be out of my apartment on December 12, 2022 It didn't get any better: Apparently USMS was acting as a broker (see paragraph 4 of USMS' contract) and farmed my move to Witty Movers of Maryland and from that point on USMS took no responsibility for the negligence and unprofessional moving practices of Witty Movers. CIS Pros also confirmed that USMS was acting as a broker and not the mover for my household effects (HHE). I called USMC Customer Service to confirm a primary delivery date of December 16, 2022, only to be told that my HHE would not be coming that day. USMC Customer Service told me that my HHE would be delivered anywhere from five (5) to seven (7) business days from my requested date of December 16, 2022. Witty Movers showed up on December 22, 2022. Before the delivery people began to unload my HHE they required the final payment in full, which I provided in cash. This was a very sneaky move because Witty Movers did not have all my HHE on the truck. Most disappointing was that all the items needed to assemble my bed were not in the initial shipment, which meant that I had to continue to sleep on the floor on an air mattress. When the truck showed up the movers couldn't open the door to the truck to unload. Apparently, my HHE was not properly tied down, which caused items to shift around blocking the rear door to open. The driver had to drive the truck forward and rapidly apply the brakes to shift things around again to allow the truck door to open. This resulted in several items being damaged. The remainder of my HHE finally arrived at 8 pm, December 30, 2022, by yet another independent contractor hired by Witty Movers. I filed a complaint with CSI Pros for property damages. I expected CSI Pros would gather all pertinent information and decide whether Witty Movers was negligent. CSI Pros only reviewed the insurance for damaged goods and did not investigate whether Witty Movers had acted negligently in properly securing my HHE. In short, do yourself a favor and do not do business with either of these two companies. Neither company has a clue what good customer service means. A little but of customer service goes a long way and I wouldn't have been compelled to make this post.

They broke my dresser and decided to drill random screws into it and not mention it was broken

My move was brokered out to this company from Dedicated Van Lines, a company that misrepresents itself as long-distance movers. Relocating from Pennsylvania to New Mexico with this company was hands down the most egregious moving experience of my life. I do not know how to capture the level of dysfunction and fraudulent business practices fully but I shall try. They are the worst: 1. they doubled the cost of my move, 2. they destroyed and/or didn't bring ~$6k worth of my belongings, 3. my boxes were riddled with rodent feces, 4. they were ~2 weeks late, 5. when I called to get an updated delivery estimate their phone numbers were coming back disconnected and I thought all of my property was stolen for 24-48 hours, 6. it took 6 months for them to finally respond to my property damage claims which only happened after I began consulting plaintiff attorneys and threatened them with litigation, 7. the settlement they offered covered ~0.05% of the value of the property they damaged, destroyed, and didn't deliver. Basically, you are better off using anyone but this company. Additionally, under no circumstances book a move through Dedicated Van Lines, they are equally as fraudulent as Witty Movers and Delivery.

TERRIBLE MOVING EXPERIENCE!! We made the mistake of hiring a…read moremoving broker (Moving APT) instead of a moving company (they lied when I asked, told me they were a moving company). Moving APT in turn assigned the job to Shift Van Lines, who in turn subcontracted the last leg out to another terrible moving company, I believe it's Green Lines. I've now come to understand that they use multiple movers to avoid all accountability. Your stuff got broken in the move? Good luck figuring out who to file a claim with!! They will pass the ball like a hot potato. Our move from CT to TX ended up costing 2.5X what the broker initially quoted, for no apparent reason -- from $2,200 quoted to $5,200, plus tips for two sets of moving guys. All this for a well-packed, small 1-BR apt going from one storage facility to another! This should have been a simple move. At our final destination of Austin TX, the movers were supposed to make two stops: first at our house, to drop off a few pieces of furniture; then the remaining boxes were supposed to go to a storage facility located 4 mins from the house. Shift Van Lines charged us $250 for the additional stop, WHICH NEVER TOOK PLACE, BECAUSE THE MOVERS THEY SUBCONTRACTED SENT AN ABSURDLY HUGE 18-WHEELER TRUCK that would not fit in or anywhere near our storage facility. Very inappropriate vehicle for a small move!! Shift Van Lines claims they did not know that Green Lines would be using such a huge truck -- even though it was their responsibility to know, it was they who were hired to move our stuff from CT to TX. To add insult to injury we were charged the $250 for the addt'l stop IN TRIPLICATE -- once by each of the 3 moving companies involved! When Green Lines realized they could not fit their truck in the storage facility (which has an ample road, any normal truck would fit there), they just dumped all our belongings in our garage!! WE HAD TO HIRE YET ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY TO MOVE THE STUFF FROM THE GARAGE TO THE STORAGE FACILITY!! That cost us an additional $800, bringing the total cost of moving a small 1BR apt to nearly $5,000! I'm pretty sure we were charged the $499 broker's booking fee in triplicate too. Their invoicing could not be more OPAQUE. Furthermore, when our stuff was being held somewhere in Baltimore (I put several AirTags in our boxes to track location), they called me and said I had to pay an additional $500 to schedule the final delivery date ... else they could not guarantee our stuff would be delivered at all!! They held our stuff hostage for ransom ... because clearly gouging us for more than twice what they'd quoted me was not highway robbery enough for these people!! Needless to say, we did not pay the extortion fee. Our TVs arrived broken, several art frames arrived cracked & chipped, and Shift Van Lines won't honor our claim because the owner is pissed off that I posted this negative review. Everything I've said in here is factual and verifiable. It's beyond unprofessional that his personal feelings should dictate how he runs his business. He should honor my claim for the broken TV, and refund me the $800 I had to pay to finalize the move that they did not. It's the right and decent thing to do.

The first mover I contacted talked a great game but in the end my spidey sense kicked in and I realized it must be a scam as he asked me several times within an hour for his deposit of $250. I later found reviews that said he took the money and never showed up. Now I'm really in trouble - as far as I knew, my parents could be released any day without much advanced warning. I went back to my Yelp reviews and decided to contact Mount Wolfe. I messaged the company and shortly heard back from Dwayne. I told him what I needed (it wasn't a huge amount of stuff - not too hard of a local move.) He gave me a quote almost immediately and it was a firm set price. The price included what most movers charged extra for - tax, mileage, fuel surcharge and many more items that could take a reasonable rate into something sky high. We added a few pieces to my original inventory list and let Dwayne know, expecting an increase in price. Once again, Dwayne reiterated that this is a flat rate. We finally had a tentative release date, by now we were only a few days out. Dwayne was so very flexible for us. Then we found out there was a move in "window" that we had to fall into. Once again, Dwayne changed our time to fit our schedule. In fact, the day of, they even came earlier to make sure we met the window. They arrived in a big uhaul which made us a little quizzical but if you think about over head costs, for a small business, it might be a more cost effective way of controlling overhead. Whatever, it did the job. I stayed back, cleaned a little, ran a few errands and got to our drop of site. I was maybe 45 minutes behind and when I got there they were just about done emptying the truck. (They squeezed right through that window.). My brother had taken everything apart at home but all three of them got everything put back together, placed where we wanted it (with a few "maybe over there, wait, no over there..." adjustments.) And like that, the move had been made. Nothing broken, scratched or missing. All the wrapping undone and taken away. Just like Dwayne promised, nothing additional. No surprises. Though it was by far the smallest move I've ever overseen, it was by a stretch the easiest one. I will use Mount Wolfe anytime I have to make a move. They really were the best.

I have been waiting since July 2025 to receive my refund for damages to my furniture and wall done during a move. I should have canceled the TV mount service being that I used. He is not a carpenter nor know how to properly mount anything. I should have known better than to give him a second chance. He caused a 55 inch TV to almost fall on me due to another improper installation. Which caused damage to the wall. It is now May 2026 and still nothing we had originally agreed per emails and text. All he kept saying was that I cause damage to his business. Instead of taking accountability and fixing the issue. Dwayne is not to be trusted. I would never recommend anyone to hire this company to do anything. Update: I was asked by the owner Dwayne Wolfe to remove my review in order to receive my refund. It has been over 2 months now since our last email conversation. Dwayne Wolfe is not honest nor professional. I have been waiting since July 2025 to receive my refund for damages to my furniture and wall done during a move. I should have canceled the TV mount service being that I used his TV mount service before and that TV wasn't mounted correctly then. This time, I tried to give him a second chance only to have a 55inch TV almost fall on me due to another improper installation. Which caused damage to the wall. It is now February 2026 and still nothing we had originally agreed per emails and text. Original Review: Last year, I had Dwayne and his crew move me from Lancaster Pa to Manchester PA. The move was great they took very good care of my Antique furniture and other containers. So because of that I reached out to Dwayne to handle my move to Alabama with a stop on the way in Maryland to pickup my partners things. Upon arrival she was told that everything may not fit. Which was very unprofessional when there was more than enough room for her things to fit. Especially, when the truck had more than enough room if packed correctly. Once they began packing all had fit and what small things didn't go we packed in the car. As we got closer to evening Dwayne advised that he was going to get a hotel and arrive to the house in Alabama in the morning. We arrived to the house at 9am and no call, text, or email from Dwayne. We went to get breakfast still no call, text,or email. I called while at breakfast and was told by Dwayne that the helpers woke up late and they will be at the house by 12pm. Upon their arrival at 2pm (5 hours late), Dwayne called and advised they were at the house and decided to unload the truck in the driveway. As we pulled up to the house from picking up cleaning supplies and water for the guys we noticed our stuff on the driveway like it was a garage sale or something. It was so unprofessional and disappointing to see. Then, after they moved the things into the house Dwayne seemed frustrated and annoyed when I asked about him installing the TV's and assembly of the beds which was part of the agreement. He proceeded to install the bed and TV's. He seemed to struggle to install a TV wall mount and TV on the wall. Then, I went out to the hardware store to pick up more proper screws for the TV mount. Not sure what he did with the screws he removed in Manchester for the same mount. All the screws were packed and labled to make the installations smooth. But while I was gone he assembled 1 queen frame and a twin futon. When I came back they placed the TV on the wall and I looked at everything that wasn't till wrapped in plastic. They brought in the final piece of furniture. It was completely destroyed. I told them to leave it in the Garage. He decided to leave it right at the entrance of the garage door. So I had to move it to the side wall myself. He said it was fixable and its not. We went to sleep woke up the next morning sat back on the bed and the bed shifted with a loud bang. Noticed that the bed wasn't properly assembled screws missing and loose. I immediately checked everything. The twin bed was missing screws and shifting left and right. My antique coffee table was scuffed in mutiple places, dinning table scuffed, dressers scuffed, bed frame chipped and scuffed, some China plates cracked and destroyed, desk missing a part, screws checked and noticed screws were loosened and had to be tightened and the motor bar was disconnected, computer monitor mount was chipped like it was dropped on the ground. I was emailed by Dwayne to sent photos was told by email that they did their best and I would be fully compensated. I'm still waiting.
