We just sold our house and were reminiscing on all that has happened here and this incident was discussed. At that time, I was young, and my mother (a single mother) was doing a major renovation to our attic, creating a third floor and adding 4 rooms and a dormer. She hired Bill Moore for the job and it started off fairly well. The dormer was done, and the rough framework for the stairs and rooms was assembled. He had all the drywall delivered and put up, (not mudded or sanded) and then DeckMasters never returned to the job site and would not return phone calls. He manipulated my mother into taking out the permits in her name, had her pay most of the costs upfront, and abandoned the job site not completing the work she had paid for. We had to pull in additional contractors and the job took 4x as long as originally estimated. If my mother went after him we would have had to pay legal fees and at that time, especially in the middle of an addition, that was not feasible.

He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. Therefore, we asked Ruy to install a Timberteck stair rail at our front doors, which also has withstood the test of time. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. He also advise us on an easy and effective fix to divert water from flowing from the gutter and freezing to ice on those brick steps in winter. Based on the outcome of these projects, and our experience in their progression, we highly recommend this company.

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

He then told me he was no longer interested in doing the job because I had beat him up on the price???? I find this behavior very unprofessional. We had a very disappointing experience with Drew O'Shaughnessy Construction, based on the following…read morefacts: 1. Timing- the bathroom remodel took well longer than expected. Mr. O'Shaughnessy explained that he took on nine different jobs at one time and that it was too much. We discussed that he was accepting jobs given the higher price in the market, but that he could not fulfill customer expectations. 2. Cost- the price of this remodel was high, but came by recommendation. Upon completion of the job, we paid Mr. O'Shaughnessy immediately as requested. When re-reviewing the contract to ensure everything was aligned, we had certain questions, but Mr. O'Shaughnessy was not willing to discuss further. After many follow-ups clearly showing that we double paid for materials at a considerable amount, only then did he refund that particular portion. 3. Quality - the tiled shower floor has come undone in a large area around the drain twice since the initial installation. Mr. O'Shaughnessy admitted he used the wrong tile adhesive, as well as not putting the proper support under the drain. The grout is now two different colors in the shower. In addition, the shower door seal has also had to be replaced twice by his sub-contractor. Given this was now the third time these items have been reinstalled, we asked for a signed warranty, but Mr. O'Shaughnessy would not agree to this and stand behind his work. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Drew O'Shaughnessy Construction and have written correspondence supporting the facts above. Our only ask of Mr. O'Shaughnessy (multiple times) was to sign a warranty, so that we would not have to write any negative reviews. This ultimately never happened, which as we explained, sends quite a strong message to his customers about his own confidence in his work product.

The stairs were tricky due to existing structures (old house) but they figured out the best approach and executed it beautifully. PBS handled the permit, the check for gas/water lines, and multiple inspections. All I had to do was make a couple decisions when presented with options, and then sit back and relax. Work proceeded on time, in pretty much all weather--in fact they started the day after a February blizzard, which didn't seem to bother them at all!
