I'm a HUGE lover of soul food/fried . Overall, a really great experience, the food was great but the family feel and nice staff stood out to me. It's definitely one of those places you can visit and they will get to know you I got the 4 piece wing that came with two sides. The chicken was super light and airy, but had tons of flavor. I hate when fried chicken is bland, and this definitely was not. The chicken and breading both had a really great taste the greens were perfect. She uses turkey meat to enhance the flavor, and I couldn't stop eating them. the Mac and cheese almost took me out. I love love love baked Mac and cheese, and this one was perfect. Almost a sponge like texture but still creamy and cheesy! Def tops my list of Mac and cheeses I've had. finished it off with some cornbread. Dry cornbread is the worst, or when it's too flaky. This was the perfect medium between moist, but also held its shape. Everything is made from scratch, so depending on when you arrive it could take a little to get your food. I personally didn't mind since I got the taste the chicken right out of the fryer I'll def be coming back as they serve breakfast all day, and the chicken and waffles are calling my name if you're looking for soul food or a diner experience, def add this one to the top of your list.

Now run out of Philadelphia, it has incurred higher transportation costs for customers in Northern Virginia, and the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. Previously, the membership included 'Pantry Items' as a bonus, and included a huge selection, but not anymore!! The quality of the food has gone down as well. My last order included a Chicken Pot Pie that just had an inflated crust, not even a 1/4 lb. of chicken, and also I had ordered two 2 lb. beef briskets for grilling, that had over 12 0z. of fat on each brisket, combined, almost 2 lbs. of fat, that was concealed in the packaging from the labeling, premium pricing though!! Do yourself a favor, buy a freezer at Costco, and a vacuum food sealer, and purchase Kirkland Select and bag/freeze yourself.

We have been with them for 9 years now, and I can honestly say they have sold out and became just another corporate run money grab. They got rid of all the bonus points and rewards they used to offer. Their product is packaged in the worst possible way now, and I have no words for what they are passing as chicken wings. I'm so disgusted and disappointed. I don't think I can post pictures here but I absolutely do NOT recommend these guys any more. I hope the original owners know what they are doing to the good name they established all those years ago, this is NOT the same company.

I'm struggling to rate this business appropriately, but I cannot in good conscience go above 3…read morestars at this time. Why, you ask? Simple: Poor customer service. The sales people were amazing, be it at fairs, festivals or the in-home visits. We met with Scott, Pat and even Larry Everett himself. They were all very kind, knowledgeable and informative. We sampled the salmon and knew right away that the quality of the food was a step above what we normally got from supermarkets. After awhile, we finally decided to sign up for the service. Super fresh, high-quality items that defrosted easily/quickly just couldn't be beaten. But here is where the problems began. After we got a chance to do a more thorough inventory of the items received, we noticed that just a handful of one item was missing. Upon contacting Farm Fresh to advise them, we were met with apathy and a complete lack of desire to remedy. Seems that Al Fabian only cares about big orders and doesn't want to make small items appear as promised. Furthermore, we cooked another item a few weeks later and found small maggots WHILE WE WERE EATING it. As unsettling as the experience was, we calmly informed Al of the issue, assuming that it was but a fluke with the extremely high quality food that we had otherwise experienced. And what did Mr. Fabian do to allay our concerns? The same thing he did with the missing items. Absolutely nothing. So rather than waste any more of our time or money dealing with someone who clearly didn't want to address our issues and seemed to be a one-man customer service department, we decided to cancel the service before our first reorder. I'll end with this: Great food, HORRENDOUS customer service. If your food arrives correctly and you only have to deal with them at reorder, I think you'll be just fine -- because the food really is high quality, especially the salmon and chicken. But be warned that Al Fabian isn't in the business of servicing customers or solving problems.

I've had one small hiccup with a product I wasn't totally satisfied with due to the packaging, it had a small hole in it. When the next food delivery came out they not only replaced the product at no charge but they gave me an extra portion for my inconvenience. If that's not customer service I don't know what is!! After a long day outside, we decided to drive a bit further to Germantown for a Cantonese dinner. A…read morefew of us grew up eating Cantonese food, so we wanted the classics. The servers speak Cantonese, which was a good sign. We ordered food and a couple plates arrived within 5 minutes (!!) which was insanely fast. I think we got all of our dishes within 10 minutes of ordering. I'm not sure how they whipped it up so quickly. CHICKEN & CORN SOUP - 9.95 We got two orders of this since there were six of us, and each person was able to enjoy almost two bowls of the soup. This was more like egg drop soup at an American Chinese restaurant with some bits of corn and chicken. You really can't call this "chicken & corn" soup. There was lots of cornstarch to give a thick texture. Overall, it's not bad but I think most people can make a better chicken & corn soup at home. BARBECUE PLATTER (3 SELECTIONS) - 21.95 +bbq pork +bbq crispy pork +bbq roasted duck The bbq was fine, nothing to write home about. The bbq pork was vibrantly red, but flavor was a bit bland. The bbq crispy pork wasn't very crispy, but it had a good ratio of skin, fat, and meat. The bbq roasted duck was just fatty. SEAFOOD CHOW FUN - 14.95 Instead of the wavy egg noodles, the server recommended the flat rice noodles (hor fun) because she said it was better. There was a good amount of vegetables and seafood. Aesthetically, it looked delicious. It wasn't too oily, which is good, but it was pretty bland and lacked the "wok hay" flavor... Almost like they just lightly sauteed it on a pan. SAUTEED CHINESE BROCCOLI W GARLIC - 13.95 The texture was nice and crunchy, but again, very bland and no "wok hay" flavor. I ate it for health. EGGPLANT WITH GARLIC SAUCE - 11.95 The eggplant was incredibly saucy and flavorful, definitely the best dish we got. It was soft, tender, and creamy which went well with the garlic sauce. Our entire table agreed this was our favorite. KINGDOM PORK CHOP - 15.95 The sauce was a dark red and very thick. We knew without trying that it was going to be too overpowering and sweet. Indeed it was. Out of everything we ordered, this was definitely our least favorite because it was borderline inedible. I had high hopes since someone recommended New Village as one of the best Cantonese restaurants in the area, but it ended up being pretty mediocre. Like another review had mentioned, most dishes felt flat since the flavors lacked the "wok hay" depth we were looking for. The pricing was very good though since we paid less than $21 per person after tax and tip, and we had enough leftovers for at least two more meals.

The severs were friendly (they weren't so busy at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon), and tired to entertain my in-laws. Running a business in this economy isn't easy...I'm giving it 5 stars.
