I stop by Siriwan Thai when I'm in the area for lunch. I've always enjoyed the lunch specials. This most recent time I had the Moo Yang Somtum which is grilled marinated pork skewers with a side of spicy sauce, a green papaya salad and sticky rice. It's the best thing I've had yet, the salad and the sauce for the pork had heat but not as spicy as dishes I've had there that are labeled spicy. The service was fast and friendly, I came pretty early and the restaurant was almost empty. It has a nice simple decor with specials on chalkboards above the bar. There were QR codes on the tables explaining that they are closing to change the menu, name and decor. Anytime this happens, the prices always go up. I will definitely give it a try; they have a strong kitchen. read more

Thursday 5/9/2024 I had first tried their Germantown location and was highly disappointed with my experience, so I wanted to see how the better rated one does for my taste buds. I made a takeout order through DoorDash and got: chicken satay $11.95, Thai fried rice: chicken $14.95, cashew chicken $14.95, and pad Z-Eaw: chicken $14.95. - Chicken Satay * rating: 5.7/10, I'm used to the chicken being thick and juicy but the chicken here was the OPPOSITE: dry & thin which was very disappointing. - thai fried rice:chicken * rating: 7/10, on its own it's a bit bland and it would probably taste better with some type of sauce or combined with another dish. - cashew chicken * rating: 7.3/10, I'd say it's decent orange chicken but it's nothing Special or impressive. - pad Z-Eaw: chicken * rating 8/10, this was easily my favorite dish as it has pretty good flavor and taste (something I would come back for) Overall, it's not the best Thai but it's definitely not the worst. The waitress was very nice and efficient. There were plently of indoor seating and clean bathroom. I received my order quickly. My pad thai was a bit disappointing. It was extremely sweet and there was too much sauce. It was a mountain of clumpy noodles. There was too much sauce for the noodles. I couldn't finish it because the texture was too clumpy and mushy. I wouldn't recommend the pad thai here. There wasn't much taste too the sauce and seemed like it was missing something. I ordered the following to go: drunken noodle, mussamum curry, mango with sticky rice, and tom kha soup. The mussamum curry was $19 for 4-5pieces of small beef cubes and 5-6 pieces of small potatoes. The taste was good. The curry mixed well with the generous portion of rice. The beef and the potatoes were pretty good. Unfortunately, $19 for a couple of small bites did not sit well with me. The drunken noodle for $14 was very good. The taste was great. There wasn't a lot of oil in the dish. The tomatoes and other spices mixed well within the dish. The chicken added an another layer of flavor. The mango with sticky rice at $10 was definitely problematic. The dish had very small rice ball with 6 small slices of mango. I know it's inflation and all.... But $10 for literally bits is not cool. Thank goodness the taste was great otherwise this dish would have been a 0-star disaster. The tom kha soup was $8. The taste was interesting. The overall flavor profile was rich and complex. There were a lot of tasty elements that combined nicely within the soup. I ordered from here to go a pad thai and spring rolls. Both were good. The pad thai was a bit under seasoned and tasted a bit bland. Otherwise was well cooked and had the nice peanut crunch to create some texture. It needed some spice to to balance the saltiness of the noodles and peanuts. Otherwise it was a good dish since everything was well cooked and portions were good. Spring rolls were good as well nice and crunchy and hot when I picked them up. Definitely was freshly made. I guess I'm in the minority here as I found Siriwan Thai to be just okay. I found the drunken noodles to not be "Thai spicy" as indicated even though I asked for it to be extra spicy. It was not only mild in spice, but just lacked flavor in general. This dish also didn't travel well (about a 15 min drive home) as the noodles were essentially one large clump when we got to eating it. It came with a decent amount of chicken that, again, lacked flavor. The pepper beef wasn't bad. The beef was tender and thankfully had good flavor to it. The brown sauce was good and I thought the peppers and onions were a nice touch to the dish. I do wish this dish was packaged better for travel though as a good amount of the sauce leaked by the time I got home. Out of the three dishes we ordered, the chicken Thai fried rice was the best. It was packed with flavor and had a good amount of meat in the dish. This was definitely a must if you visit Siriwan Thai. Service was friendly and my food was ready at the stated time. Ordered delivery for dinner. We got the drunken noodles and red curry with chicken. The drunken noodles were a perfect level of spice. The favorite was the red curry. It was absolutely delicious. I wish they gave more rice to eat the curry with and the delivery wasn't wrapped properly so some leaked out of the container. I would def return for that curry. read more

I stopped by for an early lunch while I was in the shopping center. I perused their lunch specials. There are ten options and each lunch comes with a choice of one of their six appetizers. Their $12.95 lunch specials are only available at that price for dine-in on weekdays from 11:30-3:00 except for holidays. (Note the 11:00 time reflected on the menu is apparently inaccurate.) There is an additional $1.50 charge for to go orders. There is an additional charge of $3 for beef and $4 for shrimp. I decided on the Chicken Pad Z-Ew and Fried Dumplings. Both items were flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My only critique is that I thought that the dumplings were on the smaller size, but you can't beat an entree and appetizer for only $13. I was definitely full after finishing my meal. Granted I was the first patron at the restaurant, the food came out quickly and my server was super friendly. I got: -Drunken Noodle with chicken (medium spice level) -Thai Iced Tea -Mango with Sticky Rice The drunken noodles smelled and tasted delicious! It had the perfect amount of heat to it. It had a good kick to it and was not overbearing. The noodles and chicken were seasoned well and cooked perfectly! The fresh bell peppers also added a nice crunch to the dish. The Thai iced tea was perfect. Not too sweet and tasted amazing on a hot day :) And the mango sticky rice, which was for my friend, was great too! Didn't know this spot existed in the suburbs of Gaithersburg! I enjoyed a pleasant dinner here tonight. The space was open, humble, and cozy. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive as well. Great service, absolutely nothing to complain about. We ordered pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, and a yellow chicken curry. The fried rice and curry were fine, tasted like standard Thai food you find in the states. The pad Thai seemed to have too much sauce on it though and was just a little too dark/salty. A few green beans and about two slices of red pepper. The broth was so soupy, it tasted like chicken broth. Not at all the consistency and flavor (ginger, lemongrass, etc), that a Thai curry should have. Hidden gem in a shopping center near Quince Orchard HS! Have ordered delivery a couple of times and enjoyed the authentic Thai flavors so I decided to stop by for a visit and have lunch. He took it back, so I thought ok, maybe I could give this place 3 stars (possibly 4 of the dish blew me away)... but when he came back, it was the same portion we originally had- pieces taken out, they didn't even give us a new one. Did they just nuke it in the microwave? Didn't even taste fresh. They also charged us for an extra rice. Chicken pad se ew- probably the best thing we ordered. Who can mess this up horribly? It was flavorful, but it didn't stand out to other pad se ews, typical sweet flavor, but this one had a bit of burnt to it. Was that why it was so dark as opposed to just the sauce itself? Yum!! My friend and I stopped in at Siriwan Thai after wandering around Homestead Farms and buying way too many pumpkins. I was pleased to see that they had stringent COVID-19 procedures in place - it felt very safe. They are currently takeout only, so I got summer rolls and chicken prik khing, and she got spring rolls and basil fried rice to go. We wandered through the shopping center for 10 minutes while waiting for our food. Our meals were excellent! The summer rolls were fresh and very tasty, the spring rolls were crispy and not at all oily, just crunchy and delicious, and I inhaled my chicken prik khing.
