A great addition to the neighborhood! Although the business is on Montrose, which has a fair amount of traffic passing through, their patio seating is quiet and relaxing since they set it up off of Wolcott. They have a great variety of cocktails to choose from...the selection has changed gradually since they opened up. Their food is worth ordering also. Everything I've tried, I've been happy with. All of the staff I've interacted with have been friendly and helpful. I've returned a couple of times since I first went and I plan on coming back in the future too. read more

The bar decor is pretty cool. Really laid back and chill. After everything this location has gone through, it's awesome to see that a new concept actually makes sense. They have a small selection of tap beer and bottle. The bar is pretty cool. The food can be better though. It's mainly bar food which is fine, but it is nothing I can not dine anywhere else. I don't get the 5 star reviews. We were really excited to try this new place. The atmosphere is nice and menu looked great but we just left hungry. Our server was inattentive as hell. Had to go to the bar twice to get service and the bartender was nasty too. Said she had a lot of tickets to get to before she could help us and our server was no where in sight for at least 20 minutes. It wasn't even that busy. It's 5:00. There were maybe 6 or 7 tables. The table next to us also walked out.There was another lazy server rolling silverware at a back table the entire time completely oblivious to the needs of customers. We wanted to order food but never got the chance. I finally had to get up and find our server and just gave her my card to close out and said we had hoped to order food. Took my card and ignored me. Slapped the bill on the table without a comment and a pen that didn't work. Too bad. Menu looked good but service absolutely sucked on all levels. Won't go back. Lots of establishments in the area and if you can't prioritize service nothing else matters. When servers and bartenders aren't focused on the customers businesses fail. Period. Good luck. Clean house and get new staff. Don't rest your laurels on a few great reviews that are most likely from friends if the staff because they seem to be more interested in socializing with each other and customers that they rather that making a great impression on new customers to make them want to return. Living within walking distance from Wolcott Tap has been a blessing (daily drink specials! Those sweet potato tots!) and a curse (eating out all the time instead of cooking at home like a practical adult!) We live on the same block as Wolcott Tap and it's always our go to for drinks near home. They change their drink menu seasonally which is nice but we do miss some of our previous orders. There's a digital jukebox inside and their Loaded sweet potatoes tots are amazing! Wish there was more in the dessert menu. read more

Great place! We came at the tail end of a happy hour and the place was full. Lively, and good music playing. It's first-come first-serve for tables. I only observed one waitress in addition to two bartenders so she did an amazing job keeping up with all the tables. I'd come back just for the "breakfast" grinder. It had bacon jam on top of a cheese-infused bratwurst, all piled on to a very thick bun. It was amazing. My husband was very pleased with his burger. The fries are thick and nicely seasoned (not bland like steak frites but not overly seasoned either). This place is in a family-oriented neighborhood so I am happy to report that children are welcome during "reasonable" meal times. They do have high chairs and a kids menu (with an Oreo dessert I wanted for myself, but was too full to order). Only two of the tables are lower; all the rest are high-tops, so keep that in mind if you have tiny ones. That being said, it looks like a cool place to be in the later evenings for usual weekend shenanigans too. Didn't try any cocktails but the list looked very tempting. read more

Really good food, nice atmosphere. Love their burger, good Bloody Mary and I'm a tough grader. Only drawback is occasional slips in service. I shouldn't ever have to seek out a server after being ignored for too long. And where did I find said server? The food is really good with a decent beer selection. I had dinner here with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed the food. Our waitress was very friendly. Having said that if you want to meet friends here for dinner or a drink and expect to have a conversation you might want to eat outside or go elsewhere. I'm not a prude and enjoy going out to a club or late night bar. But we came here for drinks, dinner and conversation at 6:30. The music was ridiculously loud. We asked our waitress if they could turn it down a "tiny" bit . She in turn asked the bar tender who basically gave us an FU look and it wasn't lowered. Just ordered a habanero-honey spicy fried chicken sandwich and fries from Uber. The food arrived hot, and it was clearly hand-made... it just... didn't taste good. The flavors were one-note and unappealing (the habanero-honey sauce was thick and gloopy, almost like a pesto, with the heat being the most prominent flavor), the unique spiral cut fries were incredibly greasy and seasoned liberally. The seasoning was very blah, however, and the grease was overpowering -- I couldn't eat an entire fry. The chicken sandwich had white breast meat that was hand-coated and fried... amazingly lacking in decent flavor, though. The bun (I usually get down with a bun!) was too spongey and tasteless to tempt me. In the end, I ate 1/2 of the sandwich and a few bites of different fries, and called it a day. Can't recommend this place and won't be returning, though they did seem to take pride in their food and I have no complaints about the quality of their ingredients. read more

I live a block away. This location has a reputation for being cursed, so I really want them to be successful. The location and service is great, but the food is sadly lacking. I had grilled cheese with "fries" tonight. The grilled cheese was lackluster but not offensive. The fries on the other hand were a travesty. I don't know what they were. I think my server knew because she didn't look me in the eye when she picked up my barely touched plate. I gave WT an extra stars for playing three New Order songs. read more

SHOULD BE NO STARS. I was a big fan of this neighborhood bar until I was done wrong tonite. I tried to sit on the patio- I saw a table with one chair so I sat there. The bartender walked right past me to clear a couple of other tables while I sat there. The waitress then came out and told me that the table I sat at was not to be used, due to covid. She told me to wait while she checked the wait list. in the time I was waiting, 2 other groups of 2 came in and took the remaining tables. Still politely waiting for the waitress, the bartender came out and told me I could not sit there due to covid spacing. I could have made a scene, but I pointed out other people came in after me, and he did not accommodate me and I was the person waiting for the waitress. In addition, one of the parties sat down and WERE NOT WEARING MASKS. I was very annoyed that nobody offered to rectify the situation. Will never go back, and will advise others the same read more

I want to love this place. We always try to support local businesses, and this is right around the corner. On a positive note, they have a great patio and good beer selection. Food is solid. But the service is completely hit or miss. Last time we were there, the server spilled a full glass of water on my mom (who was a very good sport and laughed it off), but he barely acknowledged it, sort of mumbled an apology, and then didn't mention it again. I figured maybe he'd comp her Bloody Mary... but nothing. They serve everything in baskets, including their open face sandwiches - really hard to cut them when they aren't on a plate. The acoustics are also rough. The music is always loud, but if the windows are closed it's too much. Gets echoey and hard to hear anything. Like I said, I want to love this place and am rooting for it, but I think they need to work out some kinks. read more

Wolcott Tap has quickly become one of my fiancé and I's favorite neighborhood bars. The space is cozy and pleasant while the bartenders are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. I've been to Wolcott Tap a few times. At first it was okay, but some of the bartenders, especially the manager, Jordan, have displayed quite an attitude. It seems to them that going to their bar is a privilege for the patrons, rather than them appreciating the customers. Sad that a neighborhood bar has to have such pricks working there, but there many other bars to choose from in the neighborhood. read more

Let me say right here, this five stars is from my dog. BUT! But. Also. That's not a dig. Here's why. I ordered from here at a pretty late hour- 11 pm. Just got some Mac n cheese noms and some spinach and artichoke dip. Came perfectly as ordered and on time. BUT. Okay. And here's the thing. The instant after I took one delicious crunchy bite of the artichoke dip, my errant leg knocked my TV tray (yes, I'm 75 years old) aside and splayed that mayonnaise delight across the room, and under my seat (soggy ass delight) much like a Pollock painting. My dog, Jody Shelley (go Blue Jackets) ran away with this food in the way that many suckers in the 90s grabbed for money in those tube things (I would compare us humans to monkeys if I wasn't convinced monkeys wouldn't grab more money and show us all up ((they would!!))). That being said, Jody has never had a more delightful meal in her life. And I never knew I could be jealous of a dog eating off my dirty ass, fiber-shedding, 60s Art Deco rug. I'll definitely order from here again. Just, maybe add an extra bit for the Jodes (that's my dog). Not mad! Just wish Jody (again, the dog) shared the joy. read more
