La Canna (Italian) with Garlic Bread
    Caleb J.

Not gonna lie, this puts other places to shame! The food was absolutely delicious, and I am a big fan of how their sandwich is packed. I'd suggest getting your sandwich made with the garlic bread. The House & Shake seasoning is really delicious, and they have more than just sandwiches and chips. I want to try more next time I come back. Despite it being pretty empty in the store, It was still pretty homey, and not loud at all. I like how quickly they make your sandwich while it still maintains its sandwich-shape haha. Must try!

Always a good time at Chēba Hut! Sandwiches always smack and fresh koolaid is a fave. Walkable distance from Wrigley Field which is nice!

Wow wow wow! Not exaggerating when I say this is the best sub I've ever had. I ordered the Thai Stick - pinner (8") size on garlic bread with added banana peppers and honey mustard on the side. You need to try their honey mustard! It's truly the best. They really load this sandwich! I thought for sure I couldn't finish it, but it was so good I inhaled the whole thing. The chicken is super fresh and moist. I can't believe it took me so long to try this wonderful place when it's only a 5-min walk from me.

Dare I say these might be the best subs in Wrigleyville? After getting hooked on bread in France these are the best sandwiches we've found. The bread is soooo good and crave-worthy!! The choice is a no-brainer between this shop and a national sub chain. Ingredients are fresh, staff is lovely and the interior is clean with a hippie vibe. They also have drink specials and weekly trivia.

Good & fast service. The ingredients taste fresh and the drinks are unique. A little pricey but on a day out it was very satisfying for me and my crew.

Bar scene, local sports, and empty food trays... I'll take pics of the food next time, but everything was great!

This is NOT your typical sandwich shop! Beyond the array of cleverly named sandwiches with a plethora of fresh ingredient combinations, this place also has a full bar with very pleasing prices, and free trivia nights multiple times each week. Let's start with the sandwiches. These deliciously toasted delights come in multiple sizes to please any appetite. The prices are fair and reasonable. With a wide selection of meat and vegetarian options available, everyone is included in this welcoming eatery. We tried the Northern Lights and Kali Mist. Both were excellent, but I was partial to the spicy tastes of the Northern Lights (roast beef, turkey, bacon, pepper jack, chipotle mayo, jalapeños, and veggie fixings). Get this one if you appreciate some heat. Keeping with the playful weed theme, Happy Hour starts at 4:20, as it should, and continues until 7:10pm. I ordered a PBR for $3. When Happy Hour ended, the price rose to $4, yet I was still happy! We didn't know about the Friday Night Music Trivia game, but we gladly stayed to participate. There were three games across three different music genres and it was a lot of fun! People were signing along and having a great time. With the tasty sandwiches, affordable bar drinks, and trivia games, you should definitely not overlook this gem in Wrigleyville. ALSO: The chocolate chip cookie is phenomenal. I repeat, phenomenal! Like, go out of your way to get it, kind of phenomenal!

This sandwich made me feel things I didn't know I could feel. Taste things I didn't know I could taste. My brain and tastebuds are in shock. Seriously so busting!

Let me be the first to say, I was not a sub person. I never saw the big deal with subs & sammies. WELP. That has changed today when I ordered from Cheba Hut. Being blessed with a corporate DoorDash account, I feel obligated to try new things & I am really happy I found this place! As a proud Midwest gal, I had to get the Midwest Best. It did NOT disappoint. Turkey? Ham? Bacon? YES. All the veggies were crisp, it had the right amount of condiments, & shout out to the garlic bread. Everything just went so well together. I appreciate the plethora of options to custom your sub... I've never seen so many! Whoever made my sub, THANK YOU. This lunch made my strugglebus workday so much better & I'm happy to add Cheba Hut to my favorites list. I am now a sub person.

Since this placed announced they would be opening in my area, the anticipation to open was real, and I finally got to try it on Saturday, 2/12/22. I ordered the Kali Mist since I like spicy, and everything on it sounded delicious. My quick take on my sub was that while it was good and very filling, it did not meet the 5/5 mark I was looking for. It was great, but I'm not sure what it was missing for the final touch. I normally order something similar at Jersey Mikes and I'm wondering if it's the vinegar or red spicy sauce that they have that I miss. Cheba has a huge selection of subs to choose from, so I have plenty of time to come back and try much more. The vibe in here is unique too considering you feel like you could be at like a cooler, more underground version of Jersey Mikes, but they actually have a full on bar with TVs. It's honestly a great place to grab a beer, watch some sports while chowing down on a bomb sandwich. I'll be back!

    The Kind

Wow. Bye bye Potbellies. I haven't smoked anything a day in my life, but I am still amused by the riffs on weed culture - pretty creative all around. While I am not an expert on smoking, I *have* eaten a ton of sandwiches in my days and I can say these are some of the best. I got The Kind on garlic herb bread and wow. Absolutely incredible. Also the pretzel nugs were amazing. Of note: I placed the order for delivery and the DoorDash app glitched out, resulting in my driver taking a +10 minute detour to get to me. The food still held up and was impressively good. That's a really good result. Can't wait to go in and try some other options.

AK-47 without the shrooms + added horsey sauce. Delish.

The space itself is decorated in a fun decor, and the menu of subs is extensive. Plus any sub can be made into a salad, for the carb or gluten haters. They also have a bar with both beers and craft cocktails. The subs are unique in themselves but then you can also pick from a variety of sauces to change them up - I added the "horsey" sauce to the French Dip pictured (named the AK-47) at the recommendation of our bartender and it was delish. The staff is super friendly and seems genuinely excited to be in the neighborhood, too.

The staff was super attentive and kind, checking on us frequently. My friend and I stopped by for happy hour, and this should absolutely make it onto the list of the best in town. They have delicious wine, cocktails, and bites for nearly half of the regular price. I opted for the happy hour prosecco to drink, which was light-bodied and not too sweet. We split the meatballs and dates for bites and both were outstanding. I was super impressed with how tender the meatballs were, and they did not skimp on the flavorful marinara and cheese! The dates, which were topped with a white wine cheese sauce, were mouth-wateringly delicious and a must order. There was also complimentary focaccia with olive oil, which was greatly appreciated. With sea salt on top and a crispy exterior, I could easily have eaten a whole loaf. The only note I have is that the portions are small, so if you don't come during happy hour the prices are a bit steep for what you get. Will 100% be back soon to try more of the menu and highly recommend making the trek over here!

Not chewy at all which was nice. There were a ton of olives which I didn't think complimented the calamari. Overall, still 5/5. Mushroom Tava - mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were delicious. One of my favorite dishes of the night. 5/5 Stuffed Mushrooms - this dish fell flat on flavor and had more of the typical mushroom texture. 3/5 The Hunkar entrée initially was extremely salty. The location is great and easy to get to, which is one of the reasons we decided to stop in. The atmosphere was fun, and the restaurant was very quiet that evening. Since it wasn't busy, we expected quick service and were looking forward to relaxing for a bit. Unfortunately, that's where our experience fell short. We were seated right away but then waited about 15 to 20 minutes without ever being greeted by a server. Multiple servers and bussers walked past our table several times, yet no one acknowledged us or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. It honestly felt like our table had been forgotten. Because we were never able to place an order, I can't comment on the food or drinks. We ended up leaving before anyone came to our table. The wait time itself wasn't the issue. We were seated immediately. The problem was waiting 15 to 20 minutes after being seated without receiving any service, especially at a nearly empty restaurant. As for value, it's hard to judge since we never had the opportunity to order anything. However, spending nearly 20 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us made the experience feel like a waste of time. It's unfortunate because the atmosphere and location were great, but the lack of service completely overshadowed the rest of the experience. I hope this was just an off night, but based on this visit, I can't recommend it.
