I ordered a sandwich at 9:40 PM while the posted hours clearly showed they were open until 10:00. From the moment I walked in, it felt like they were already closed -- every chair was up on the tables, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. The cashier still charged me nearly $30 for a meal after tip, but while I was eating, the bartender began cussing me out for sitting in an area he had already cleaned. Apparently it was acceptable for the three patrons at the bar to continue drinking beer, but not for me to quietly eat the food I had just purchased before closing time. If customers aren't welcome during posted business hours, the restaurant should either stop serving earlier or adjust the hours. I would rather eat on the street than spend another nickel here. read more

Not gonna lie, this puts other places to shame! The food was absolutely delicious, and I am a big fan of how their sandwich is packed. I'd suggest getting your sandwich made with the garlic bread. The House & Shake seasoning is really delicious, and they have more than just sandwiches and chips. I want to try more next time I come back. Wow wow wow! Not exaggerating when I say this is the best sub I've ever had. I ordered the Thai Stick - pinner (8") size on garlic bread with added banana peppers and honey mustard on the side. You need to try their honey mustard! It's truly the best. They really load this sandwich! I thought for sure I couldn't finish it, but it was so good I inhaled the whole thing. My quick take on my sub was that while it was good and very filling, it did not meet the 5/5 mark I was looking for. It was great, but I'm not sure what it was missing for the final touch. I normally order something similar at Jersey Mikes and I'm wondering if it's the vinegar or red spicy sauce that they have that I miss. Cheba has a huge selection of subs to choose from, so I have plenty of time to come back and try much more. The vibe in here is unique too considering you feel like you could be at like a cooler, more underground version of Jersey Mikes, but they actually have a full on bar with TVs. Wow. Bye bye Potbellies. I haven't smoked anything a day in my life, but I am still amused by the riffs on weed culture - pretty creative all around. While I am not an expert on smoking, I *have* eaten a ton of sandwiches in my days and I can say these are some of the best. I got The Kind on garlic herb bread and wow. Absolutely incredible. Also the pretzel nugs were amazing. Of note: I placed the order for delivery and the DoorDash app glitched out, resulting in my driver taking a +10 minute detour to get to me. The space itself is decorated in a fun decor, and the menu of subs is extensive. Plus any sub can be made into a salad, for the carb or gluten haters. They also have a bar with both beers and craft cocktails. The subs are unique in themselves but then you can also pick from a variety of sauces to change them up - I added the "horsey" sauce to the French Dip pictured (named the AK-47) at the recommendation of our bartender and it was delish. It actually had a good little heat to it and the bread was so soft and perfectly warm. I got the Italian as a salad. It was good, not great. They did put a ton of meat on it, less lettuce and cheese than I'd hoped for, but the house dressing is very boring and I regret ordering it. It's basically an oil/vinegar, but mine was mostly oil. Bland and disappointing. I'll take the hit on that, though, because house dressings are a risk and one I was clearly willing to take. I cannot say enough about the Cheeba Hut. 1st time I ate at a Cheeba hut was 2012 in Colorado. I've thought about how delicious the White Widow was ever since. Then began to think there's no way it was that good, had to be the memory of it. So when I saw a Cheeba hut in Chicago while on a birthday weekend getaway, I had to go. My husband loved his (although I don't remember which one he got) and I had to try the white widow again to see if the hype I've had for 10 years was accurate...it didn't disappoint.
