We were looking for a close to home overnight camping trip and decided to take a chance with Rivers Edge. We had a really fun time, great tubing on the Wolf River and several activities in the campground. We went during the week so we had the tenting area to ourselves. Terrible place. The owners are very unprofessional. Tubing is pretty ho-dunk, and just not the experience you would want for tubing. The stretch of river they operate on is very narrow and winding, and no one clears any of the downed trees that fall into the water so 90% of your float is focused on not running into trees. If there is even a slightly strong current you will get stuck in various trees and struggle to stay in the center of the river. They do not even offer you paddles to help with this or recommend them before you come. They also do not provide you with the rope/hooks to tie your float group together. It is a small, middle of nowhere kind of place and I would recommend finding somewhere in Wisconsin that is more heavily trafficked for tubing. They have no one keeping an eye on people who go tubing, so they will drop you at the start and once the shuttle operating hours are finished the staff just call it a day and don't stick around for anyone still out on the water. (And they do drop people off as late as whatever time their shuttle stops running.) No one is there to answer the phones after shuttle hours end, god forbid something horrible may happen out on the water. I think tubing should be fun, stress free and not require much effort and I don't think they have the location, means, or the general care for people to provide that kind of experience. read more
