What a beautiful nursery! All the little nick nacks for your garden or even in your own. Wish they had smaller Easter island head sculptures so I could put it in my apartment lol. Visit wolf trap nursery on a whim will looking for a "live" Christmas tree. While they did have a lot of trees that smelled wonderful (get that Fraser firn y'all). We were really for a tree on the smaller side (less than 2' Inchrd). But we fell in love with the outside decor and just had to take a look inside, which we were not disappointed! Totally decorated all their sculptures inside for Christmas. Even offering some complimentary hot apple cider, ginger snaps and brownies. My boyfriend and I fell in love with their low light plant selection and ended up buying an Antorium Lilly. We eventually journeyed through their zen garden green house and so beautiful. Fell in love with their bonsai section and I remember that they offer bonsai 101 classes so I think we'll definitely take advantage of that in the spring/summer. They lady who helped us was very kind and knowledgeable. Once we told her a lot of our plants are lowlight she immediately showed us some other easy to care for plants. I will say I think the poinsettias were a little pricey...you could continue driving down 7 and find another place nursery with bigger poinsettias for same price her. Anyway I look forward to visiting Wolf Trap Nursery in the spring, summer and fall. If you are ever looking for eclectic sculptures for your garden definitely check this place out.

Lovely place and such a knowledgeable owner! You can clearly see how much care and love was put into this place.

Such a lovely nursery! There are varieties of indoor and outdoor plants to choose from. Owner was friendly and knowledgeable. He asked if we ever owned the plants we were buying in which we replied no. He gave us clear instructions on how to care for them. We ended up going home with 2 zzplants and 1 ficus audrey tree.

The lady who works in the store is soooo helpful. We were so indecisive picking our pine trees. She was very patient showing us the options.

    Do they have creeping phlox?

We don't have any yet, but we expect to get some in about a week.

Do you carry orchids beyond the standard Phalaenopsis variety, like Dendrobium or Oncidium?

We only carry Phalaenopsis. One exception, though, is that we occasionally carry Nun's Orchids, too.

Do they still do Bonsai Workshops?

Thanks, Kyah for your question. It's a question that I hear a lot. Unfortunately, we have had to suspend the workshops due to Covid, but I do expect to resume sometime in the future. I doubt that it will be in 2021, but quite possibly we may… Read more

Planting in the fall is the right time, so you want to shop now - they are open through the end of October. The staff is incredibly helpful as well - they will help you pick plants that will thrive based on your soil and sun/shade conditions. Need a workhorse for your flower bed? We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

I've worked with Gathered Stems many times over years -- most recently on a celebratory arrangement (end of medical treatment) for a loved one as well as a bereavement arrangement, and she's my go-to for Mother's Day flowers as well. Everything is always perfect. I really appreciated Ashley working with all the constraints (tight timeline, coordinating delivery around their schedule) and how collaborative and kind she is helping us strike the right tones during sensitive times. Thanks for doing what you do -- my family and I have always been such fans!

They also falsely claimed I hadn't included the balloon on my order. They offered me a 30% refund "with hopes that you will change your review on both platforms to something positive", which made me more mad. They somewhow removed my other review from Google. original review: I paid $130 for an upgraded "deluxe" bouquet and it looked nothing like the photo with cheap looking green filler and fewer flowers. I also paid for a balloon which was missing upon delivery. I would not recommend.
