During my last bi-annual visit with her on August 25, 2025, her office scheduled a follow-up appointment for February 16, 2026. Forty-five minutes prior to that appointment, I received a call from her office informing me that my appointment had been scheduled on one of Dr. Murti's days off. I took a day off work and drove for 2.5 hours (128 miles) only to find out that her office had scheduled my appointment on her day off. Her office staff had over 5 months to correct (reschedule) an appointment that should have never been scheduled in the first place, yet they waited until the last minute to try and do so. Why would anyone entrust their healthcare to an organization that they can no longer trust simply to schedule an appointment? Suffice it to say, I have a new GP now.

The nurse that assisted the doctor, Brionna Beals, was very helpful, funny, and down to earth. The staff gave a patient-centered care that is very appreciative. They gave suggestions and were willing to hear my friend out while discussing his medical history and what has helped in the past. The doctors name is Wendy Powell. She was also very attentive, helpful, and great with giving recommendations while assessing anything that needed urgent attention in case she needed to make any calls for him.

I informed the woman that I had a terrible rash on my eye and my forehead, and it was hurting. I explained to the young lady that I was from out of town and on vacation . She asked me if I had Insurance and I said yes, and I gave her my insurance card and my ID.. within minutes Especially the nurse asked me to step inside to get my vitals. She asked me what was going on, and I explain to her it was an irritation that had been bothering me for a few days and I feel that I need to see a doctor because it doesn't feel normal. The nurse said a doctor would be in to see me momentarily. Within five minutes. Doctor came and spoke with me. Very kindly the doctor asked me to explain to him what was going on as I pointed to my forehead. He immediately said I know your symptoms follow me. I walked to the other area with the doctor and he explained to me what my condition was. It wasn't long before the attending physician came and gave his synopsis. Very quickly and with care the two doctors explained to me what my condition was and how it worked and then explain that the medication I would receive would be for pain and infection. With all of that being said, the young doctors care and attitude and mindset was just so remarkably amazing. The staff the cleanliness I would give this hospital an A + immediately, and I would advise anyone that is visiting the Bartlett community in Memphis, Tennessee had an emergency or had to be hospitalized to visit this care center. Doctor on staff who assisted in my care name is Dr.Cardwell. An amazing physician, caring person and beautiful soul.

Tests were performed, and his wife was told that everything was fine. She was also instructed to stop one of his blood pressure medications, and he was discharged home. The ER staff had been told that he had been weak, had fallen previously, and that this time he was unable to pull himself up. Despite knowing this information, he was still discharged. After arriving home, my father fell again in the garage. EMS was called, and he was brought back to the same ER. This time, he was admitted. Unfortunately, our experience during the admission was extremely concerning. The nurse practitioner/hospitalist repeatedly reminded us that my father was "only admitted because he fell," which made our family feel unwelcome and as though our concerns were not being taken seriously. I also felt that we were treated as though we were ignorant when we tried to explain our concerns. We repeatedly expressed concerns that medication issues could be contributing to his weakness, increased confusion, and hallucinations. Instead of feeling that those concerns were thoroughly investigated, we felt dismissed. At one point, my father was given Ativan, and afterward he appeared extremely altered--almost as though he were in a state of psychosis. We were deeply concerned about his condition and the medications being administered. The hospital then attempted to discharge him home despite our concerns about whether he was safe to return home. The nurse practitioner and case manager suggested that our family find him a facility. We ultimately had to appeal the discharge. Only after that appeal did the hospital become responsible for helping arrange a rehabilitation placement. A rehabilitation facility was eventually identified, but our family was given very little information beyond the name of the facility. We were not given clear answers about how long he would be there, what services he would receive, or what the plan was for his care. The entire experience left our family feeling frustrated, dismissed, and extremely concerned about my father's safety and well-being. We still have unanswered questions about what caused his falls, his weakness, his worsening confusion, and his hallucinations. I am sharing this review because families deserve to know what our experience was like. If you have a loved one with cognitive impairment, weakness, recurrent falls, or complicated medical needs, I strongly encourage you to ask questions, advocate for your loved one, and make sure you fully understand the plan of care before accepting a discharge. Our family came to this hospital looking for help. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we had to fight to get our loved one the care and safety he needed. I want to also, put on record, if the hospital staff documented that they were in constant communication with us, is a lie and the documentation has been falsified.
