I brought my 2019 TLX A-Spec (61290 miles) in for the major NHTSA rod bearing recall (24-002). Then the typical dealer nonsense came; before even telling me about the recall work that I brought the car in for I got a repair estimate for a leaking oil pump. I asked how they knew it was leaking since they didn't have to take the crank pulley and the timing cover off (which would be required to expose the oil pump). That is when I was told it was a "visible leak" running down the block. I declined the service as I change the oil in the car myself and knew for a fact there was no oil running down the block (see attached images of the engine block and help me find the oil river they could "found"...lol). When I went to pick up my car, I checked underneath before driving off. I had written the date on the oil filter on 3/9 before I took the car down there as I had a feeling the oil filter would not be replaced. As expected, they left my old, dirty oil filter on the car after they replaced prematurely worn rod bearings due to the recall. Running old, potentially metal-contaminated oil through brand-new engine bearings is severe mechanical negligence and defeats the purpose of the recall work. Take a look at the picture I uploaded of the dirty oil that was drained from the oil filter. Brand new rod bearings and dirty oil don't mix! I tried to speak with the Service Manager about the work. He quickly admitted the recall work should require a new oil filter and smugly thought he could "buy me off" by offering to change the filter at that point. Given the massive oversight and the highly suspicious oil pump diagnosis, I told him I no longer trusted his technicians to touch my car. Instead of apologizing for his department's negligence, he told me to leave and I did. I drove straight home, jacked the car up, and took time-stamped videos and photos of the engine block. My evidence proves two things: 1) The old, dirty filter was left on, compromising the engine. 2) There is no visible oil leaking from around the oil pump area and no oil running down the engine block. Their $2,050 diagnosis was completely fabricated. I wonder how many other people they do this to in a given week? Get a second opinion on any expensive repairs they recommend, and always double-check to see if they actually did the work they claim to have done. I had been a loyal Acura owner for over 20 years and had bought both Acuras I have owned from this dealership. It will definitely be the last Acura I purchase...guess I will help that Ford stock that I own. :) Hope this review helps someone else from getting taken by these crooks.

Color me totally unimpressed. I purchased my car through Molle Toyota (good experience) a handful…read moreof years ago and I really wanted leather and seat warmers but the car I was closing in on didn't have them. They contracted through Coach Automotive and while it looked decent at first, I have to call this out as a shoddy job overall. The leather is not the quality you expect from typical car seat leather, not by a mile. Not as smooth, not as tight, kind of like cheap shoe leather you'd see on a fresh high school grad. The tops of the back seats have been scorched by the sun, and while they hinted that it was because I used leather wipes on it, everything I've read tells me that the culprit is simply the use of el cheapo leather. Little flaps started popping up within months, and it was never the tightest, most professional looking job (see my photos). Now my seat heater has gone out in my driver's side -- well not gone out, but is permanently stuck on. I don't blame Coach for that, it's been five years so it's totally reasonable for an electric component to fail. However, I sure as hell don't want to line up to give them hundreds of dollars for a repair after seeing the quality of everything else. If I did, I have the feeling I'd be back in a year or two dealing with the same issue.

It needed a new lock actuator/latch assembly. So, I had my husband take it in, and they said that what I said was not the issue. We took it in multiple times telling them what it was, and we were ignored until the last time. When they finally confirmed that was the issue. We also went in because our SRS airbag sensor has failed, this was the 2nd time we requested it to be fixed. They spent 4 hours on our vehicle and did nothing. They said they needed to order parts. They gave us a clean inspection though. Then we noticed they damaged our inner door panel, they denied damaging it. A few weeks roll around and they send my husband an email of all the 'issues' with our vehicle, first was they couldn't fix our lock actuator because we were out of warranty despite taking the car in multiple times and literally telling them what the problem was. Then they stated they could fix it but wanted $2k. Then they said we needed new brakes, they wanted to charge us almost $600 for a part I told them I took off so they could access the lock actuator faster, we still have the part. They also wanted $200 to replace a tail light that was 'burned out'. They let us drive around for weeks with a tail light out. My husband works nights, he was followed by multiple cops during this time and had no clue what was going on. Because our first email on the inspection stated there were no issues. They should be sued.

My feelings for this Honda dealers is this: I implicitly trust their service department, have known a number of them by name over the years, still do and they know me by name when I call. We're a three car family, all Hondas, so if there was any doubt, I'd be on to another brand in a heartbeat. They are brutally honest and true and have never failed me. Today's visit, I'm delighted to find a brand new facility that's been updated to modern times with things in the customer reception area like, oh, those modern conveniences like plug-ins for laptops and phones, USB ports, and of course the requisite coffee and free water bar, big screen TV, comfy chairs and tables of different sizes and heights and most importantly these days, plenty of room between yourself and others. Other changes, a larger lot, the entire old building razed and a new one built behind it in its place. A much nicer show room and plenty of places to meet privately for when the time comes to buy something. I made the mistake of buying one of my Hondas for a family member from a dealer in Olathe. Huge mistake. What happened there would not have happened here, and never has. Why I stick with these folks. Oh, and the wi-fi I'm using to craft this, lightning fast, no disruptions. Imagine that. So yea, maybe rating a car dealership isn't as cool as the new espresso joint or the latest new taqueria, but this place has always worked exceptionally well for me and I'm sticking with them.
