My husband and I eat at Wolf's Head at least once a week. The food is always good, though a little pricey, and the service is usually good, as well. My negative review has to do with the large overhead door that opens into their dining room. While enjoyable on a nice day, management keeps the door open even when the temperature has dropped significantly, even when asked to close it due to begin cold while eating and we were the only ones in the restaurant. His response is "you can move" to another table, meaning the noisey bar, which is an unpleasant experience in itself. read more

Some of the staff is rude Food is kind of expensive. The bar chairs are hard they can use an upgrade and it's always hot at that place. Sometimes it's not to inviting. Really wanted to like this place but it didn't happen. It's a cool place very old school. But from the moment we were seated problems began it took awhile for a server to approach us I don't mind waiting but at least acknowledged us many servers walked by but nothing. At point what looked like a manager took notice of the look on my face and the server appeared took our drink order brought those out asked about an appetizer we ordered a tower of onion rings not sure how long a wait would be we placed the order for our meals. Time passes out comes the onion rings which were fried too hard look up and here comes the food within in minutes not ever a chance to enjoy the appetizer. I had 14 people for super bowl with great service and food. We had a backroom wth 2 tvs . We were all impressed with the great drinks and food. An OK option. My burger was good. I haven't been here in some time. I have been wanting to get back so I made a special trip to what I remembered and loved--a comfortable, cozy feeling place but I was so disappointed to see it is nothing like that anymore. The place is completely different going for a contemporary converted garage or industrial, craft brew kind of space complete with a Halloween decoration, 10-foot Grungy-ish dressed wolf outside the front door to appeal to a younger crowd--not sure all of that worked--at least on this warm Thursday night. The garage door convertible space is not quite right given where it is. Nice idea, but not right for every location, like opening directly on to a parking lot where headlights are about 5 feet away and shine directly into the dining space. I used the door and took a seat at the bar, mostly empty, to wait for a friend. The tender on duty was clearly checking out, chatting with a friend, and completely ignored me. I sat there for about 10 minutes before someone asked. There are a total of two tapped beers which was disappointing with the rest of the choices being pretty much a Pilsner/Pilsener knock off, IPA-based ensemble with nothing at all interesting--very uninspired. We moved to the main dining area, not far from car hoods and ordered burgers. I got the Chef's Ultimate--the "chef" forgot the egg--what?! At $16 bucks pretty unforgivable but I didn't even bother mentioning it to the waiter. As the sunlight waned it was not a problem as car headlights filled in. Nevertheless the burger was quite good, with nicely done fries and slaw. Overall I have to say the food, along with the competent service, was good and what earns the three stars from me but it is in no way the place I knew and loved as did so many others. Would I come back? Maybe, if it was convenient, but I would not make a special trip--any more. (Suggestion: Work with the Center and municipality to eliminate head lights shining directly into the space.) read more

Got this as a Groupon when my boyfriend and I came out to go kayaking at Lake Catherine. It was a very nice day so we decided to sit outside. The waitress told us that burgers were on sale for the day, so we decided on them- there were a good selection. After we ordered them and began to eat them, the waitress told us that our Groupon would not cover them, or we would have to pay the regular price for them. I wouldn't have minded if she told us before that. I could had easily ordered something else. Not that big of a deal but I already spent money on a Groupon- don't really want to spend extra money.... otherwise prob won't come back out here again. Held our daughter's wedding rehearsal in their "private" room. Staff was great and very accommodating. Food was plated. Did their best to meet everyone's dietary restrictions. My only complaints were the slot machines in the room and the "sports bar" level noise that compromised the conversation and didn't quite fit the mood. read more

For the longest time, this was place was a dump frequented by old people. Under new ownership the past few years, this place has become a great spot for people under the age of 60. It's also great if you have kids, the back room is nice if you're worried about how your kids will behave at a restaurant. It's become a staple for us. New owner as of 2021/2022 I believe and they've done some needed updates to the place. Menu stayed the same and it's always been a great burger. Sadly, they no longer offer $10 burgers in Mondays - even tho it's still offered on the website. And the best seasoned fries ever are now very basic and probably out of a bag. We've been there pretty regularly lately but this may affect our choices down the road. $36 for two burgers and a Diet Coke? Meh. read more

We went here a few days ago with a big group. There was probably at least 20 of us for lunch. I've never been to this place before but I have passed it up for the last 30 plus years. Maybe it hasn't been called wolfs head but I feel like it has. It doesn't look like it's old at all and it was very clean from what I saw. We will start off with the food. They bring you complimentary bowls of popcorn. I don't know what it was but I feel like this was the best popcorn I have ever had at a restaurant. Maybe they do something different or I was just hungry. I'm not sure. We ended up getting cheese curds and southwestern egg rolls to start off with. I always like to see the mismatch of cheese curds because you definitely know they aren't frozen. These curds were really good. The southwestern egg rolls were also pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of southwestern egg rolls but my wife loves them and said these were really good. Let's get to the main course. I got a Reuben and my wife got tropical quesadillas. My Reuben was not bad but nothing special. I'd say it was an average reuben. My wife's tropical quesadilla was different. I've never had this before so I can't compare it to any other tropical quesadilla but I thought it was fantastic. Somehow the flavors just worked. As for the service it was exceptional. We had one waitress for the entire party and she was on point for everyone and everything. One of the best waitresses I have ever had. She kept all our beverages full and popcorn full also. All the food came out quick too. Wish they had a cheaper draft beer but the one I got was good. If I'm in the area I'd go back to this place. I'm rarely in the area but for the folks that are, I'd recommend going. read more

They have renovated recently and the dining atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and still retains some of the original character which is more visible in the bar area. The service was excellent and food was good also. My only disappointment was the size of the dinner salad (a little on the smaller side though very fresh ingredients and the balsamic delicious). Since my husband and I split the molten lava cake dessert with comes with a scoop on ice cream, I think our server gave us an extra scoop. Nice touch! read more

Cocktails were great, apps were good and the service a bit above standard. Two prime rib dinner meals brought out and both meals were cold. Except the veggie side that was served on its own plate. Cold, cold. The meat, the potato even the cup of au jus. Of course we sent it back, the server was more than apologetic and after quite a little wait we were served the SAME plates very, very slightly warmed up (mashed potatoes were still cold) .
