    Cucumber Mule And Pretzel Bites
    Steve A.

Checked out this long time popular place in LaGrange. It sure isn't bad, but it's not quite as great as many people say. Palmer Place is kind of just there. Many places along the street to go to, any many that are better. The prices are kind of high, which just makes things even worse. At dinner is when things pick up here. It has a pretty nice patio. This is where to sit when it's warmer. Good drinks if only overpriced of course. It's about $10 for a basic cocktail, as in whatever and Coke so fuck this. A good one is the Cucumber Mule. This is made with Ketel One Cucumber Mint Vodka. Best thing on the menu maybe. For sure among the best drink prices. As for the food, also expensive. Though it's also not as good as it was. It's about $9 for the Warm Pretzel Bites. Seems like these are from a box and microwaved. Has been known for their burgers. They recently got rid of all the gourmet ones, but not the gourmet prices. Basically we tried to spend as little as possible here. The drinks and pretzels were okay except for prices. Heard it used to be good but it's not the same anymore. It's pretty average and overpriced for most items. There's a lot better around here to choose from and get better prices on things.

Finally managed to stop by! Very excited! Good beer selection! Great burgers ! Highly recommend!

    Fish & chips

Palmer Place has a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. We went with the fish & chips and a couple of burgers (I believe it was the Mexicali and Texas BBQ from the pictures) and were satisfied by the flavor of everything. Their fish & chips were perfectly crispy with a large enough portion size. The staff was friendly and although they forgot a side of sauce, they were happy to fix the mistake. We sat around for about 15 minutes with empty plates before we asked for the check so if you need something, just ask. TVs were displaying live games all around the restaurant and there was an outdoor covered dining area in the back with a stage so we'll have to come back when they have live performances. Overall, good food and nice staff, just too pricy.

    Chicken mac and cheese

Best mac and cheese ever. Not cheap, but worth every bite! Great service and great atmosphere!

We are frequent customers of Palmer Place and have always enjoyed dining here. Unfortunately, tonight was a very disappointing experience. The service was inattentive, and when our food arrived, there was a balled-up receipt inside the dish. Although the server replaced the meal, it was extremely off-putting, especially because this was meant to be a special dinner for our daughter's birthday.

Suppose to be italian peppers and sausage. Instead it's more of an oily soup.

Tried the italian peppers and sausage. Instead got an oily soup.. not a hard dish to make really disappointed

They have solid drinks and solid burgers. So if you want either, come check out Palmer place. We went with our family and everyone was happy with their meals, and it wasn't loud so we all had nice conversations. My mom got the liver and would come back for more!

First time visitors. We came here on a whim for a quick meal. We were greeted immediately. We arrived at 6:20 p.m. to a virtually empty spot. We were immediately seated. Our server arrived at 6:29, but did apologize for the wait - the patio was busy. To which we said, "THERE'S A PATIO?!" My biggest gripe is that they were slowww. We didn't get our food until 6:55. My wife ordered her steak medium, but it came out a clear medium-well. One of my sons ordered his steak well. It came out toughhhhhh. He could only finish about half of it before saying "my jaws hurt from chewing," and tapped out. He finished my wife's steak. MY burger was great! I added bacon that was fried perfectly. I was pretty impressed with the size of my burger. It was very thick. We had to salt all of our food. Lol! And the fries were decent - nothing to write home about. Note: They charge a credit card fee. Note II: They charge a "market sustainability fee" (WHAT?!)

I recommend a larger bowl. The server was friendly. I gave it 3 stars because it's absolutely filthy! I came right when they opened on a weekday, and the floors weren't cleaned from the night before. Literally food in the corners. Also, the table next to me filled with crumbs. When a group sat there, they wiped all the crumbs with their hand-eek! The table is so grimy that it's literally sticky! The atmosphere was very "we're better than you," which is ambitious considering half the room looked genetically connected to famine survivors and dock workers. The confidence level in that building deserves scientific study. I walked in expecting casual dining and somehow ended up in what felt like an audition for "Medieval Lords of the Suburbs." The staff acted like they were protecting ancient bloodlines instead of refilling ranch dressing. At one point I honestly wanted to ask: "Sir, are you judging me... while wearing a polo shirt with barbecue sauce on it?" The energy was aggressively holier-than-thou for a place where the main cultural contribution is fried appetizers and vodka seltzer. To be fair, the food was fine. But the side of racial superiority was a little harassing for my ego. If you're looking for a place to drink with historic levels of racism and naturally redheaded bartenders, this is the place for you!

We sat ourselves at a table and after 15 minutes of no one coming to us, I went to find our own menus. We flagged down a server who unkindly told us we weren't her table. When our server did come, we decided to order everything at once to not delay. Our appetizer came out with our entrees which was disappointing and then had to ask for silverware. Our server never checked in on us once we got our food but only when we needed the bill and a box. Thankfully we didn't need refills on our drinks but waiting another 10 minutes just to pay our check. The only saving grace was the food. Their menu offerings are simple but tasty. I've never seen them this crowded when I've visited in the past but sadly I wish I had dined somewhere else tonight. I hope my next trip back when in the area can prove to be an improvement from tonight!

Everything seemed to have improved from our visit here a week ago, but that's because Michelle was not there. We had zero issues with the staff that day, we were served without issue, and overall we thought the renovations were an improvement. The prices have gone up but they have added premium beverages to their selection. Unfortunately, Michelle was not included in the staff overhaul, and mistreated my friend during a recent visit. It is a real shame that The Cordial Inn continues to have problem bartenders, because this place *used* to be a gem. It's now a far cry from cordial.
