As she is now in her 80's and in failing health it was imperative she receive the top care of healthcare professionals who specialize with what she has. There are only 3 doctors in the state who can treat her for what she has. Hence, Jacksonville is one of the medical facilities one is at and we were very pleased with the Mayo Clinic. The facility is top-notch, the campus is modern, clean, and the staff is terrific. Everyone we came in contact with were helpful and knowledgeable. The place is beautiful, art everywhere, places to sit and relax, history of the Mayo family and how it all came to be, photos, and information. This was all just in one part of it where we were, the ER and Davis Building. They also have quality places to eat and even a full Starbucks here. This is a state of the art hospital with world class physicians. Walking the corridors there an air of calm knowing you or your family member are being treated by the best.

They moved really fast the entire time he was there and I was really impressed with the timing! Every single staff member was friendly and attentive. When I was in the room with him or even in the hall, they said hello, acknowledged me, asked how I was doing. It was truly amazing and I have not experienced this in many hospitals. They were able to bring in the specialists he needed and diagnosed him in just a few hours. The quality of care was truly top notch at this facility. Even his discharge was quick and efficient - also not always the case. Very grateful for their hard work and support - it made the entire experience much less hectic and stressful than it could have been.

All the nurses and staff were very friendly and helpful! Zero issues or complaints on my end! They decided to admit her after about 5 hours. She was moved to a hospital room around 12am. At her room all the nurses and staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped mom and was very patient with her because mom can have an unpleasant temper at times ( if you know what I mean). They never lost their composure and always stayed professional!!!! The hospital is somewhat difficult to learn how to get around but after a few days it was that bad. Advice: park in P2 garage and go to upper level 3. The covered walkway takes you from garage to second floor of the hospital. I definitely recommend this hospital! I have heart issues myself so if I had to come here for medical needs I would feel very uncomfortable with it!

When we arrived, we were instructed to go to the ER waiting room, let staff know who we were with, and that once my mother was placed in a room, we would be able to go to the back. While my sister and I were in the waiting room, a staff member called my mother's last name, told us she could now have two visitors, gave us a pass, and used her key card to let us in the back. Once we walked to the back, a tall man in scrubs immediately stopped us, put his hands up, and questioned why we were there. We explained that we had just been called and shown a visitor pass. He said we should not be there and then brought over another woman, who also spoke to us in an aggressive and dismissive manner. After we explained multiple times that we were following the instructions we had just been given, we were eventually allowed through. As we walked toward my mother's room, one of the EMTs grabbed my arm and said, "You know you're not supposed to follow us here." I told him I did not know anything about that, that I was only worried about my mother, and that we had followed the instructions given to us. He then became more aggressive and got in my face. This was an extremely upsetting experience. My mother was having a medical emergency, and instead of being treated with professionalism and compassion, my sister and I were met with hostility, aggression, and disrespect.

I was told by a couple staff people that it might be that some radiologist take longer than others to read them and that my results might have been just fine so radiologist would put my results to the back of the line. Doesn't seem right because I am a paying patient also, and I have my own fears of the results. Staff in side the hospital are very friendly, and are good at directing people on where to go. May be I am wrong but just seem strange that no one would contact you? Thank you

Private bath was nice size. Huge TV and a smaller one to watch shows and videos. The nurses station was right out side the big front window for monitoring reasons and they were always very attentive and caring. ( had a Blind on it for privacy) They do have a common area for parents and guest with a micro wave and a few snack machines in the front of the floor. Only 2 can visit at a time in the back. Pros: No place to keep groceries, no refer. Parents have to go out and eat at the food areas which can be costly if staying for a while or they can go home if you live in the area which is not reasonable as who wants to leave your child for that reason. If they have a sibling they cant come back but only can sit out in common area which does not offer small children a play area. After the 5 weeks we were so relieved and thankful just to be able to take our new family member home. I would love to inform that this is a opportunity for a non profit organization who would love to help these family's living out of a room, taking care of their family while some are also trying to work while going through these awful situations. They have 5 floors of children who need extra care and I know there is the Ronald McDonald house that does great things but that is for out of area family's mostly. Thank you Baptist and Wolfson's for the excellent care we received. We pray for all the family's who have to go thru this process like we did.i hope you never have to leave a review but if you do thus is a great place to be.
