I started our meal taking photos of the pizza with the intention of writing a great review, but I'm saddened to be writing this one. When I first noticed a small black hair on my pizza, I just set the slice aside and tried to ignore it. Then my husband found a long hair in his salad. Again, we tried to brush it off. But when he bit into a third long hair, we finally had to stop and talk about whether we should say something. Even then, we hesitated because we've both worked in the service industry and know these things happen. I ultimately decided to mention it to the server--not because we wanted anything comped, but just as feedback. They took the fries and Diet Coke off our bill, which was a nice gesture, but truly, that wasn't why I spoke up. What left a bad taste in my mouth (aside from, well... the hair) was the comment the server made as we were leaving. She mentioned how odd it was that there was hair in both the pizza and the salad and that she's been doing this for 25 years. The implication didn't sit right with me. I was genuinely looking forward to coming back here, but this whole experience left me feeling unsettled. I don't want to be unfair, but I also can't shake how grossed out I feel. The hostess was very sweet and engaging, and offered us a great table on the porch. We started with cocktails; French Chardonnay for my wife, and Charred Heat for me. Both absolutely fantastic. The Isla Escargot was a delicious combination of chorizo and escargot. On to the entrees; Brisket, Cornbread and Coleslaw for my wife, and Barn and Sea for me. My dish of a pork chop with Boursin and crab over garlic mashed potatoes was absolutely divine. Finally, our Server, Chris, was truly a pro. The perfect blend of attentiveness and polite conversation. It's a must do when you find yourself in the area, and we cannot wait to go back!

The flavor was very good, on flavor alone this is in my top 2 I've had in the Lehigh Valley (to date, many more to try). Seriously, this is a great little place to stop off & grab a soda & snack on your way up or down 611 (and River Rd.), hugging along the Delaware. I grew up down the road in Milford, and our go-to restaurant in Frenchtown was always Napoli by the park, but I'm pretty sure we ended up here once or twice. Honestly? Wasn't the best on our most recent visit, and the sky-high reviews might be the result of an inflated tourist bump. I came here yesterday for lunch with one of my OG chums around 1:30, 2pmish. Despite it being a pretty meh weather day, the town was packed and loud, likely at least partially because Bastille Day was the next day (aka today as I'm writing this) - lot of French flags and perhaps a few more tourists than usual. Frenchtown is always pretty touristy on a summer Saturday though, to be fair. We chose Frenchtown Cafe because Piazzi next door was closed; and for me at least, it was nice to get some indoor seating away from the humidity and the high-decibel concert across the street. My first impressions, which were substantiated throughout our meal, was that there were a few too many tables packed into the restaurant, which I always consider a shameless money grab, especially if it's coming at the expense of the comfort of your customers. If it wasn't NYC-level/bumping up against your neighbor, it was close. And any time you happened to stand up, you had to be very careful/cognizant of your surroundings because more than likely, an employee or other customer was right behind you. In hindsight, would have advocated for the outdoor seating. I wasn't in the mood for a sandwich/melt, so I went with a plain hamburger and fries. Eh. The burger was clearly pre-made/frozen meat, and it was SUPER greasy. My chum got a melt, which was also dripping with grease. Hard to find selling points in your entrees when your paws are covered in a substance that's going to literally congeal into lard at some point if you don't clean them. Hard to pivot, but beyond that, the burger was at least cooked to my specifications (medium rare). The fries were by far the biggest selling point - perfectly crispy, just the way I like it. The service was just okay. Our waitress seemed very nice but wasn't the most attentive and beyond getting the check, never checked in to see how the food was. It WAS busy in there, but the waits for everything were a bit longer than they should have been. I doubt I'll be back any time soon, though I recall a lot of people coming here more for breakfast - that's probably the play if you're set on frequenting what was for us a mediocre establishment.
