    Mexican Savory Wonderwaffel

Delicious, love the savory twist on waffles. never had BBQ sauce on a waffle but the BBQ chicken wonder waffel was enjoyable. The drinks were also great and tasted healthily delicious. Liked the German music in the background and server was attentive.

**INITIAL REVIEW** I have to thank my friend Paula - semi-muggle of geocaching, fellow Yelper though not an elite, good friend for many years - for it is her who made me aware of Wonder Waffel. I will be honest that when I search for new restaurants, places that are "sweet" are usually a bit lower on my search because I prefer "savory." Ergo, I am happy I jumped my list to check out Wonder Waffel because this restaurant is amazing for what they offer. Though an address is provided, Wonder Waffel is located in Windover Square, right next to the biggest money scam business around, cash advance stores. If it helps, the Senzu Noodle Bar and amazing Breakfast in Havana restarants are also located in this same plaza. Since my initial and subsequent visits were around Christmas time, Wonder Waffel (and yes, they spell it "Waffel" and not "Waffle") was decored to the season. There's a Christmas tree near the front entrance of the restaurant and stockings hanging just below the television screen menus. The walls are painted a unique color blend of a magenta and lavender which is quite soothing. Seating and tables are simplistic, but I love that the tables have custom graphic designs. Over the course of my two visits, I enjoyed two on-menu Wonder Waffels and two savory Wonder Waffels. The Wonder Waffels (classic) use a classic waffle batter that may be a little bit on the sweet side since they are either filled with candied sweets or fruit. I had the s'mores and cookies & cream version. Both were decadent and delicious. I can definitely vouche for the cookies & cream Wonder Waffel which is the Wonder Waffel designed waffle folded over Orea cookies, strawberries, and bananas with chocolate and hazelnut spread. The Wonder Waffel is dusted with powdered sugar and waved with chocolate syrup. And on top of that, they went above and beyond by writing my name in chocolate syrup on the plate. That was a loving detail that shows they care for their customers. As mentioned earlier, I had two of their savory Wonder Waffels, too. This includes the Mexican and Italian. Using a savory waffle batter, they fill the Wonder Waffel with ingredients inspired by said locale. Some of the ingredients are used across the two, such as the greens, but I see that as a smart move to conserve and save given the fact they've only been open for one year as of the publication of this review. The two savory Wonder Waffels were good nevertheless. Eventually, I should try out the Wondershakes, fresh juices, sundae ice creams (which come in sealed mason jars THAT YOU GIVE BACK TO WONDER WAFFEL!), and coffee bar items. On a sidenote, the restroom is gender-neutral, single serving, but it is clean and well-stocked. Ultimately, I pray that Serena and Jack - the owners and operators of Wonder Waffel - continue to do well and grow. Firstly, I hope they find a better location. Though they are doing okay where they are at, it isn't exactly a prime locale. My suggestion is people should at least try one savory and one sweet Wonder Waffel. Price-wise, it isn't bad given how prices are now, but just for reference, most of the primary menu items are between $10 to $20 each. The Wonder Waffels are really good and if that was all they had on their menu, I would give them a perfect score. However, I want to at least try one fresh juice and one sundae item, and see if they are just as good and made with the same love as their Wonder Waffel. I also want to see if they remain consistent. If Serena and Jack continue to do what they do here at Wonder Waffel, I hope they grow exponentially... and I'll give them their fifth star for consistency, too.

The waffel was pretty and presented in a very special elegant manner. The taste was just as the picture showed. The sundae tasted good, however was completely different than the picture, my girl wanted the special cookie decoration in the picture which they no longer use. If you have a picture mean they need to match or remove the picture. Service was very friendly and welcoming. The decorations were enjoyable and very selfie worthy on the decor wall. If the picture matched i would have given 5 stars ....until then solid 4

I would just like to say that this place is incredible is incredible is the first place I ever got to experience Dubai chocolate and since then I have not been the same they put love into the Dubai chocolate and then they feed it to their customers and expect us to like it, and we do we love it we keep coming back from selling them. I don't know what to do because now that I've had to buy chocolate it's all I can think about and also the customer service was really nice and the decorations are very cute

Amazing food and service. The Christmas in July ambience was so cool with the music and a Grinch! Nice decor and cool atmosphere. We truly enjoyed it and appreciated the attention to detail the staff exhibited. We celebrated a birthday and the staff really went out of their way to make it a special occasion. We will definitely be back as soon as possible and also to celebrate our birthdays.

Decided to stop by after dinner with my brother and from the outside, it is very unassuming but the inside is decorated lovely and the owners were a joy to speak with. You can tell they are very proud and want to make each customer's experience unique and delightful. I decided on the Kinder Bueno sundae and my brother ordered a Kit Kat milkshake. My brother really enjoyed his shake and the presentation. He did say that he wished the flavor had more of a "punch" and I had to agree with my sundae. If you are looking for "not too sweet" or a light flavor, this may be for you. I think we were really wanting the candy's chocolate profiles. I am really intrigued to come back and try the waffles. They looked divine. Loved the seating and the whole restaurant was very clean. Check them out!

So delicious! Kind staff. We brought our son in for a cone, and if we hadn't been full we would have bought some too! We will definitely be back!

This place has the best waffles! The presentation of the plates is beautiful, and I love the personal touch. You should definitely check them out; you will not be disappointed. It's a great place that is very clean, with comfortable seating and a pleasant vibe. The customer service is excellent and very attentive.

Wonder Waffel 2263 W. New Haven, West Melbourne, FL 32904 3 Stars Founded in 2011 by the Brothers Topcuoglu, the company opened its first franchise store in Dortmund, followed by openings in Berlin, Cologne, and Frankfurt. It operates over 45 locations in Germany, Switzerland, and the United States, with the most recent opening in West "By Gawd" Melbourne, FL. My server today was Serena. Serena is an excellent service pro. She is congenial and gregarious and knows the menu, "Over Under Sideways Down." People say that you can't be in two places at once. And while, currently, this is technically true, over the past seven years of doing restaurant reviews, my companion on 90% of them has been my lovely daughter, Andrea. She knows the process and service quality. So, this time, I tried a bit of bilocation and had her place the order and take pics. Andrea placed an order for one Italian Savory and one Peanut Special Waffle. She then brought the food home to my awaiting palate. My first taste of what Wonder Waffel had to offer was a bite of their Italian Savory Waffel. It certainly looked appetizing, consisting of Pesto sauce, Mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce and sun-dried tomatoes. Not to beat a dead horse here, but again, with bread/pastry/baked items as your base, it is paramount that they are properly executed. This waffel was correctly cooked; it just fell incredibly flat on the palate. I was expecting a flavorful, "savory" experience, but instead, my taste buds were greeted with neutrality. The ingredients were fresh, not frozen, but the quality wasn't high enough to compensate for the bland base. My editor-in-chief called Wonder Waffel to inquire about the ingredients for the Peanut Special as it is not listed on the menu, and low and behold, he got a hold of Serena. It does make one wonder if she sleeps on a cot in the back. I jest! Serena was exceptionally polite on the phone and offered Brett a ton of information on the Peanut Special, the Waffel batter, and the whole Wonder Waffel experience. Based on her diction during the phone call, I surmise she may be the franchise owner. The Peanut Special comprises a thin layer of Nutella and Peanut Butter, followed by sliced strawberries and bananas. It is then topped with Peanut Butter Cups and dusted with a fresh peanut crumble. If you're into Peanut Butter, this sure looks like it would be right up your alley. Serena says the batter is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I have no reason to doubt her, but again, as fresh as the ingredients may have been, it fell short on my schooled palate. The Big Boy says, "Serena is 5-star awesome sauce; the food is not."

Wonder Waffel was great overall. It has a small, yet welcoming atmosphere with a "quick service" feel to it. The staff greeted us and the waffle was amazing! I highly recommend you give this spot a try for sure.

Great fun waffle/sorbet/ smoothie/shake menu. Sorbet is light and flavorful; waffles are amazing! Made-to-order crispy edges, warm delicious centers topped with sweet or savory, an amazing treat! Super clean and bright, owners take pride is their operation; a great option for lunch, snack or dessert. Definitely a must visit!

    Giant waffle ice cream sculpture

I am not a big waffle eater; however, these waffles are special. They can be sweet or savory and the owner personalizes every waffle. They have just the right amount of crunch on the outside and the structural integrity holds even after the toppings and fillings are added. My husband and I shared an apple pie Wonderwaffel. The apple filling was warm and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. Treat yourself to a milkshake or enjoy lunch with a savory Mexican, chicken BBQ, or Italian wonderwaffel. Wonder Waffel is a spot that locals love because it's kind of hidden, but for all you visitors, I'll give you a clue to find this hidden treasure. It's in the corner of a Publix shopping mall. To find it, you must locate the giant waffle ice cream sculpture that marks the spot of this sweet (and savory) gem. This fun sculpture will catch the eye of anyone under the age 100.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.

The place feels like a blend of an old Key West bar and a cozy island tavern, with warm wood, nautical touches, and Hemingway memorabilia everywhere you look. It has that relaxed island vibe where you immediately want to sit back, slow down, and enjoy the experience. The food was outstanding. We started with a couple small bites and everything came out hot and perfectly prepared. The croquetas were fantastic, crispy on the outside with a creamy, savory ham filling. The empanadas were golden and flaky with a rich filling and a great dipping sauce. For the main course I went with the Cuban sandwich, and it was excellent. Perfectly pressed bread with just the right crunch, stacked with pork, ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. Exactly what you hope for when ordering a Cuban. Then came dessert, which completely stole the show. The sweet plantain bread pudding was incredible. Warm, rich, and topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. It's one of those desserts where you keep saying "just one more bite" until it's gone. I paired it with a café con leche, which was smooth, bold, and the perfect complement to the sweetness. The service was just as impressive. Friendly, attentive, and relaxed without hovering. Drinks stayed filled, food came out quickly, and the whole meal felt easy and enjoyable. Between the great food, welcoming service, and the unique island tavern atmosphere, Hemingway's is easily one of the best dining spots in the area. If you're looking for a place with real character and fantastic food, this one is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be back.
