Excellent Asian food. Fast and friendly service! Best place in Scottsbluff to eat! I highly recommend the Oriental House for groups and singles alike! They are fantastic!

The chicken pine nuts lettuce wrap was amazing! We needed more lettuce than what they gave us but we also ordered several rolls. Not a big fan that the salmon is smoked in some of the rolls. And the spicy yellowtail didn't taste spicy or like yellowtail. Besides that they tasted just fine. I ordered two orders of the salmon sashimi and when our server gave us that plate she didn't know how to pronounce sashimi and stumbled over the word. Not that I'm a grammar nazi or anything but it made me uncomfortable knowing they probably weren't ordered very much and it showed when I received them. The salmon was slightly chewy in spots and overall not as creamy as I would want. Food was okay but I won't be ordering sushi here again.

Was ok. Service was bad, but they were short handed and were training new people. Food was ok. Had better, had worse.

On my second visit; tried one of the curries off the thai menu. It was delicious! Hot & sour soup was still top notch. Good service.

The staff are all very friendly and really take care of you. You can see the sushi chefs creating rolls from the main dining room. We went with a couple of friends, so we had a nice sampling of dishes. The edamame was fresh and you get a decent portion. We also tried the chicken gyozas. I typically like pork dumplings, but these were pretty good! I don't like sushi, but hubby said the rolls they got were pretty good. I don't remember exactly what was ordered, but he liked all of them. I had the steak and chicken hibachi dinner. The meal came with a few options but I chose the onion soup, side salad, veggies, and fried rice. The onion soup was very flavorful even though there wasn't much to it. It was mostly broth, but I finished it all. The salad had a terrific dressing, typical of what you would find at a hibachi restaurant. The steak and chicken were ok. I added a little bit of soy sauce and chili sauce to give it a little more flavor. They were served in a cute little wonton type bowl. It kind of looked like the shell of a taco salad. It was probably just for presentation, but I ate a couple of pieces with my meal. LOL! The fried rice was a little crispy, but really good and the veggies were cooked perfectly. Overall it was a good meal. We all enjoyed our dishes so we will definitely be back!

Fantastic Sushi, with Wonderful Gluten-Free Options!!…read more - - - - - - - - June, 2026 Visit Kyle and his team went out of their way to make us gluten free sushi, off-the-menu!!! and it was amazing! Kyle put so much into getting us a wonderful lunch that we would grant six stars if we could !!!!! For the record, as of this visit, most of the food at Hi sushi is gluten free... only the eel sauce, onion something and tempura have gluten, and they are willing to substitute for you. And still, as we just asked to confirm what we could order, Kyle and Kyla worked to confirm what we wanted and we confirmed a couple substitutes. THEN they worked magic.... They improvised on the recipe and brought us something even more special!! The Tokyo combo is good and they made sure to replace the one fish marinated in eel sauce with another fish - this was good. Same for the nigiri / sashimi we ordered. Both were good without soy sauce... and Lyle replaced that with another gf sauce for us and that was extra tasty, too. Kyle's magic was the Laramie roll... a couple ingredients were substituted, and they put "baby" scallops on top - the smallest I have ever seen, about the size of a pearl onion. And then Kyle and team provided a special sauce that was fantastic. The GF Laramie special is fantastic. Thank you for a great lunch, Hi Sushi!! ----- ----- -----

I was in Cheyenne overnight and wanted to eat some rice and Asian food and heard that China Buffet…read morehad decent food. I came late in the afternoon and the place was already crowded. I asked for take out and was given a small cardboard take out container that was divided with 3 places for food. When I asked for take out, the guy at the counter handed me the container and told me "No steak!" What irritated me was that he watched me as I went through to get my food (the register is near the buffet line) as if I was going to try to sneak some steak into my plate. There was a good selection of food. I picked up a little of several items. Since I read the reviews, I added some General Tso's chicken. My mistake was that I saw some red jello in the salad bar and had a craving for jello, so added it to my plate. When I went to pay, the guy opened my container, just to make sure I didn't take steak. When I handed him the money, there was not a thank you or smile. When I got back to my hotel room, I opened the container and the jello had melted all over my food! I hardly ate anything, nothing really tasted good, except for the General Tso's chicken. Suggestion to the restaurant - offer a small container for jello or cold things. It can still fit inside the take out container, but would help to keep things from running together. If I do go back, I'll skip the jello and load up on the General Tso's chicken.

Avoid This Buffet - A Sad Excuse for Chinese Food…read more I'm honestly struggling to find anything positive to say about my experience here. I've given buffets the benefit of the doubt before, but "China Buffet" was a new low. The entire meal felt like a lesson in disappointment. Let's start with the food quality, or lack thereof. Nothing tasted fresh. The eggrolls were limp and soggy, like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The sweet and sour chicken and other fried items had completely lost their crunch, becoming a chewy, greasy mess. It's a cardinal sin for fried food to be soggy at a buffet. The issues didn't stop there. Several of the hot dishes, like the lo mein and a beef stir-fry, were barely lukewarm. Even more concerning, some of the meat items, particularly the pepper steak, had an "off" taste that made me think they were old and had been sitting out far too long. I took one bite and left the rest on my plate. My advice to the owner is simple: Focus on quality and freshness over quantity. It doesn't matter how many dishes you have if none of them are appetizing. The staff should be constantly checking the buffet lines--stirring food, replenishing items with fresh batches, and most importantly, throwing away food that has been sitting out for hours. Just because the restaurant was slow during my visit doesn't mean it's acceptable to serve old, unappetizing food. I really wanted to like this place, but I won't be returning. Save your money and your stomach; there are much better options out there. One last thing, get rid of your ice cream freezer, it looks like that's where you put all the dead body parts.
