This journey began on May 21st, where I met Sales Representative, Luis Quiroz, and test drove the 2026 RAV4 Woodland edition. Luis was very excited for this vehicle and made me feel like it belonged to me and me to it. After a couple of weeks test driving other vehicles, I had decided that the RAV4 Woodland in urban rock color was car I wanted. On June 3rd, me and my wife went back to Wondries Toyota and met with Luis. We negotiated to a good price and made my deposit. Luis was very accommodating during our appointment and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. Since this vehicle is very niche being a "Woodland" edition and RAV4s in high demand, it would take 4-6 weeks for the vehicle to be delivered. During that period, Luis kept in touch with me, letting me know when the vehicle was being built, when it was in route from the factory, and updating me on the window of arrival. 7/1/2026, the RAV4 Woodland arrived. Without getting into details, it was quite the adventure getting to Wondries that day. Me and my family arrived super late, but Luis knew how important it was to me to get this deal officially done. He wasn't rushing us to get out being so late, but rather made us feel he was genuinely happy for me and my family. This dealership already has a 2.7-star rating with over 1,100 reviews, so I honestly don't think one more review is going to change anything. After today, I completely understand why. First, I'm reusing the picture another Yelper posted a couple of days ago because I didn't get this employee's name or take a picture myself, but I'm pretty sure it's the same guy. We came here to cancel our reservation for a Supra and get our deposit refunded. We actually came here yesterday first, waited almost 3 hours without anyone helping us, and eventually just left because the service was ridiculously slow. We came back today thinking it would be quicker. After about five minutes, this employee came over and asked for the last four digits of the card we used for the deposit. Since we paid with Apple Pay, we didn't realize Apple Pay uses a different virtual card number than the physical card, so we gave him the last four digits of the actual card. He looked it up and immediately said, "Nope, doesn't match." We tried another card. "Nope, not on my file." After only two attempts he said, "I'll be back." Well... he wasn't exactly "back." Instead, he spent about five minutes talking to another employee and two other people, then disappeared somewhere else for another ten minutes. After that, he went into his office and just sat there for another 10-15 minutes while we were still outside waiting. I honestly thought he forgot about us. I eventually walked over near the office entrance (I wasn't about to walk into an Employees Only area) and asked another employee if he could remind him that we'd been waiting. He went inside, talked to him, then walked back out laughing. Maybe it wasn't about us, maybe it was, but it definitely wasn't professional. When he finally came back, I tried explaining that Apple Pay uses a different card number than the physical card and that we should probably check the Apple Pay number instead. He completely ignored me. He kept insisting that my friend needed to pull up the bank statement and checking account information. My friend was the cardholder, but I was the one trying to explain what was going on because my friend is pretty quiet. I wasn't interrupting him or arguing with him, I was literally trying to help him solve the problem faster, but he acted like I wasn't even standing there. Then, after wasting all that time asking for the checking account information, he finally checked the Apple Pay card number... the exact thing I had been trying to tell him from the beginning. Surprise, it worked immediately. He printed the refund receipt, handed it to us, said, "Thank you very much," and started walking away. My friend even asked, "That's it?" He didn't respond, didn't turn around, didn't say sorry for the wait, didn't say have a nice day, didn't even say goodbye. Just walked off. One thing I'll never understand is employees who act like customers are bothering them. This is a Toyota dealership, not some exclusive luxury brand where you're doing people a favor by talking to them. Whether someone is buying a car, canceling a reservation, or just asking a question, every single person who walks through your doors is a potential customer. Basic communication and respect really aren't that hard. We weren't buying a car today, but good customer service would've made us consider coming back in the future. Instead, this experience guaranteed we won't. However, when I arrived at the dealership, I was suddenly told that the car was no longer available. Instead, they tried to offer me a similar vehicle at a different price. My main question to the manager was simple: why couldn't they give me a courteous call beforehand, just like they did when they were trying to sell me the vehicle? The manager responded by saying, "That's not my job," which I found very unprofessional. Complaint Against: Wondries Toyota 1439 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801 I purchased a brand new Toyota in June 2023 from Toyota of Glendale and have been a loyal customer returning for all three years of complimentary service. I recently moved and chose Wondries Toyota as my nearest dealership after all four of my tires were stolen from my home. My service manager Danny was professional and communicative throughout the process, and I appreciated his responsiveness. However, when I picked up my vehicle on Friday, May 1st, my car was covered in white paste. I immediately asked if my rims were scratched and was told no. The following Wednesday I washed my car and discovered that all four rims were chipped and scratched with metal peeling off -- damage that was not present when I dropped off my vehicle. My insurance paid this dealership $6,000 in labor for this service. When I contacted the dealership, rather than taking responsibility and ordering replacement rims, they proposed sending my vehicle to a third party repair shop which would take a week. As a college student currently in finals week, I cannot be without my vehicle to attend my exams. I proposed a reasonable solution bring my car in, order new rims overnight, and install them the following day but they refused. Chipped metal cannot simply be refinished these rims need to be replaced. This dealership damaged my property while in their care and is refusing to provide a timely, adequate resolution. read more

My family purchased a Toyota Camry from Wandries Toyota with a lifetime oil change agreement included as part of the deal. Unfortunately, the dealership is no longer honoring the agreement that was promised and included when the vehicle was purchased. This experience has been disappointing and frustrating. A dealership's word and contractual commitments should matter long after the sale is completed. Customers deserve transparency and for advertised or agreed-upon benefits to be honored. My daughter and I were shopping for her first car and signed for a Certified used car- KIA K5 at Wonderies. Then we had many line list issues, starting off with only one key fob - seems to be the norma for used KIA so we let that go and will pay for our own 2nd key outside. Then came the dash sign on screen & Car Play - it's still freakn registered to the original owner and we can't override that. Toyota brushed their hands off at us and told us to contact KIA. After months of back and forth, we just didn't care anymore, the car is still named after the original owner so whatever. Now we paid off the car in few months, and the title paperwork took forever claiming paperwork got lost- been almost a year and I guess we will go to the DMV to request a new copy ourselves. Next problem: I paid extra for the extended car services/protection and Wonderies Toyota call me to make the first maintenance appointment. I show up and they said we don't service KIA.... then why did you call me knowing the make and model of my car???!! Ok I get this, but you made the appointment with me and even confirmed this bc my car is on your database. WHY would you play us like this? Bigger issue is that now the KIA Alhambra is closed so we have to drive to Glendale or Covina, but they don't recognize the extended services that I purchased for additional $3500 at Wonderies! I'm so frustrated and I feel ripped off and betrayed; I'm just so helpless right now, I'm beyond angry. He even said that other KIA may not take the extended plan, but you can fight it by calling the 800 number (seriously). The rep said if they don't take the extended protection - they can refund me the prorated portion I didn't use - I DIDN'T USE ANY OF IT SO IT SHOULD BE REFUNDED IN FULL. To make matters worse - there's a recall on a part that was listed before my sale date that they failed to fix before selling the car. I am seriously so frustrated - I want to cry for my mistake of trusting them! The KIA itself is a great car, but all these issues from Toyota make me resent this purchase and I felt I wasted so much time, energy, and money... And even felt anxiety. 1. One key 2. When people say Car Salespeople are dishonest, sleazy people, they're talking about some of the people I've had to deal with here at Wondries. First, I want to say the Salesperson I dealt with, Aaron, was great. He was understanding and helpful and nice, but when it came time to deal with his boss, Brandon, that's when things went off rails. Long story short, we were close to making the deal, off by $500. However, Brandon refused to take away the security system, which by law, should be removed if a customer doesn't want it. He refused, kept using the sales pitch that the car is "advertised as such." Okay, fine. I suggested he take it out and give me some other premium add on, the protective paint coat, as a way to meet in the middle. Again, he refused. Mind you, this car isn't on the lot. It's a reservation. So I'm not even sure how the car is that I'm buying. Afterwards, I was speaking to another manager, giving her the same explanation. And while her, Aaron, and I were talking, Brandon, who was sitting in an adjacent table helping another client, turns to us and just says to me with an attitude, "You don't have to buy the car if you don't want to." Well, finally, something we can agree on. He's right, I don't have to buy the car, and so I left. Sorry, I don't have time to deal with people like that, who think they have the power just because what? you sell a couple of popular cars? Give me a break. It's all an act and negotiating tactic. Also, what a pathetic negotiator, thought it was your job to do this sort of thing. And you folded because someone was challenging your pitch. But I digress, because now I'm sitting at Downtown Toyota, finalizing a car sale for a RAV4 they do have. They gave me extra $800 for trade in credit for my car, they took away the alarm system, no questions asked, a system they priced at $900 in Downtown while Wondries priced it at $1400, and we settled on a price fairly quickly. Had an appointment at 9am to check out a few used cars. The dealership was popping early in the morning for a Monday. They had another salesman assist us since ours had not arrived yet. The showroom was large, clean with a lot of color. They offered us water and coffee. It was so hottt out. We drove to their other lot where they keep the used cars. They promised they could get it for me as soon as I arrived to the dealership. I showed up, with my family. I told them about this in advance. First, this dealership had been wonderful and excellent in servicing my previous 2014 Prius Plug-in. I still remember how my service advisor Di Wu being awesome and the other guy (forgot your name, sorry but you were also awesome, I saw you behind your table earlier as I was pulling into stop) . I can't believe I am doing this. The website accepted the appointment using the VIN of my 2014 RX350. Went there today. I was told they don't work on Lexus. I asked if he is sure. He mentioned ALL Toyota dealers do not work on Lexus. I let it go since I know some Toyota dealers works on Lexus not just the major repairs and recalls. I asked how to exit the queue on the service line since there is already a parked vehicle behind. I was directed to move forward then make a u-turn. The service guy move the vehicle that was parked in front then made a left turn to make space for my u-turn. I shift the gear to drive while looking on the right since there was a parked sedan, all was clear. As I was making a right u-turn, one of their service staff inside that sedan honked at me. His eyes was telling me, "What are you doing?" While staring at me. I was like, "What?!?!" He was the one not being situationally aware while inside the customer's sedan's cockpit. He just set the sedan in drive them moved forward without looking that my RX350 is already initiating a right u-turn. I don't know but it seems the quality dropped on their service staff. Back then it was awesome. Even the ones attending the service area were awesome people. Is it DEI? Is it buddy system that ruin them in terms of hiring quality people? I don't know. But I do know the quality of service on the service staff attending the service area dropped. I had the same experience as other reviewers. I found a used car I wanted at Wondries Toyota (on-line), confirmed availability, sent friends down to inspect it and give me a thumbs-up on a Tuesday. Called Wednesday morning to buy it. Was told to wait for documents to sign and would not accept a down payment to reserve it. No further communication so I called on Friday afternoon and was told to wait longer for documents to e-sign. I asked Ricardo to put a "Sold" sign on it so nobody would try to buy it or test drive it over the weekend and he said he would. Again no further communication, so I called back the following Tuesday and was told the car had sold to someone else over the weekend. That person was allowed to put a down payment on it and was coming back some time that week to pay the remainder. Meanwhile, I was willing to pay for it all at once the week before. I was furious and complained to Nestor, the manager of used vehicles. He apologized but nothing could be done. Here are the names of all the representatives I spoke to during the course of this experience: Nestor, Maria, Raul, Dante, Andrea. Ricardo and Joseph. The only reason I can imagine that they delayed the sale was to allow time for a friend or family member to come in on the weekend to buy it ahead of me, evidenced by the preferential treatment that person received. When I made an appointment on the phone, both Vick and Junior confirmed that the specific VIN number is in stock, and my appointment has a note with that VIN number. On my appointment day at the dealership, Ricky told me that RAV4 with the specific VIN number was sold on the same day after Ricky talked to his manager. Ricky's manager told him to sell me a "similar" RAV4 with much higher price. I feel sorry for Ricky and Rhiley working for such a dishonest manager. Extremely disappointing experience after 2 months of waiting on a RAV4 I reserved with a deposit. I was repeatedly told the vehicle would arrive on 5/9, but when it suddenly arrived several days early with no notice, I was immediately pressured to come in because they "typically only hold vehicles 24-48 hours," despite me explaining I was out of town. This policy was never disclosed ahead of time, and it shouldn't have even applied considering the vehicle arrived earlier than promised. To accommodate them, I rearranged travel plans and spent hundreds of extra dollars to come in early because I was worried they'd sell my reserved car to someone else if I didn't come in immediately. When I arrived, the dealership attempted to add nearly $4,000 in dealer add-ons and protection packages that were never part of the agreed-upon price. This included a security system we had already negotiated and agreed to remove when I originally placed the deposit, plus paint/interior protection packages that were never discussed upfront or included on the original spec sheet. On top of that, they offered an insultingly low trade-in value for my vehicle despite it being in excellent condition and a highly desirable model. I later received offers from multiple other Toyota dealerships that were 50-75% higher. I was also quoted a nearly 9% financing rate despite having a strong credit score. Overall, the experience felt misleading and high-pressure from start to finish. I ultimately went to another Toyota dealership and was able to get exactly what I wanted at the right price, including a fair trade-in value for my car. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this dealership altogether. read more

This dealership is a disaster. I was referred to this dealership from a car buying site . I Connected with them had communication with about making a purchase. Had a lot of back and forth about the price. A person that stated he was a manager insisted that I come to the dealership doing this would help my negotiation process. I informed him that I would be going to the dealership and hope that it would not be a waste of time. He gave me the name of a person to ask for when I get there. When I arrived I was greeted. I asked for the person that was to meet. Waited and I different person came out to assist me. At that time an ask for the manager he stated that the person that I was referred to had to leave. My drive to the dealership was over an hour you would think if the contract person changed they would have the courtesy to inform me about that before I got there. I proceeded to see the vehicle I was interested in. Went back in to the office after the test drive. We sat discussed the vehicle I stated to the sales representative that I have spent a great deal of time going over pricing and details over text. He stated to me the whole process would have to start from the beginning. After 20 minutes he came back to me with a number higher than where we left off from my communication via text. I gave him the numbers of where I wanted to be at he left . After waiting another 30 minutes I got up to use the restroom. After doing so I stopped at the parts department to get a quote on a part the gentleman working in parts was very rude and not helpful. I have had enough. I proceeded to the manager's office to let him know that I was going to leave because of my experience with the parts department and that I had enough of their games. One of the managers raised his voice and said that they were doing me a favor and they were trying to work out something for me. I left no matter what deal you may get a dealership one should never sacrifice your time or respect. I car buying experience is never personal it's a negotiation between two individuals to agree to a price if you can't come to an agreement then we are separated. One of the problems with the car buying process now is dealerships are made to make appointment and call back just to frustrate the customer and it's not very good process of doing business. I want to start this review by saying the staff I encountered during my visit were pleasant to interact with. However, the lack of accurate information and communication from the service advisors was unacceptable. When I checked in for my routine maintenance service, I asked approximately how long it would take and whether they offer a shuttle/ride service. I was told it would only take about 1.5 hours, they don't offer the shuttle/ride service, and could probably just wait in the waiting area. I checked in around 2:15pm and waited in the waiting area. At 4:45pm, I asked how much longer it would take. I was told they were already working on it and should only take 20 more minutes. So I waited outside and stood by the garage. At 5:20pm, I saw that my vehicle was barely being pulled in to the garage. I finally got my vehicle back at 5:38pm - 3 hours and 23 minutes after checking in. I don't mind if it takes a while since the garage has a lot of vehicles to get through. But a more accurate time frame should have been communicated at check in. If it became apparent later that 1.5 hours wouldn't be possible, they should have notified me. I would also like to note that my experience was not in isolation. While I was waiting for my vehicle, there was another customer that approached the advisors' desk - frustrated - because he was told to expect his car back at 1pm but it was already 4pm. I had high hopes for a pleasant visit when I first checked in. It is just unfortunate that the visit was ruined and became extremely frustrating due to the lack of something as simple as straight-forward and transparent communication. read more

This dealership is run by time wasting jokers. Don't bother. Here's my story. I make an appointment to see a specific car and show up at the day and time we agreed upon. First I fill out a bunch of paperwork for a test drive. Then I sit and wait for 30 minutes. Finally the salesman and I walk the lot, only for us to not find the car I was supposed to test drive. The salesman then makes me wait on the lot while he goes inside to see what happened. Turns out they haven't had the car for days. And then they make me wait for another hour. Finally the salesman and his boss proceed to try and run a good cop bad cop routine to make me buy something I don't want. I politely decline and leave. I will never be returning. read more
