This place is a straight-up trap. Granny always said, "Roll with pigs and you get up dirty," and that saying fits this situation perfectly. I came here to support the business and walked out with my car gone. The towing setup is predatory, lightning fast, and conveniently aimed at the very customers spending money inside. Whether the owners are "aware" or pretending not to be the result is the same ...dirty and unethical business practices. You've got multiple restaurants bunched together, but suddenly they want to be "discretionary" about parking? Park one space too far to the left or right and some invisible, lurking tow vulture swoops in while you're inside grabbing food. Seriously he's sitting back in a cut "waiting". No warning. No grace. Just gone. A $240 bill from a hole-in-the-wall chicken spot is insane. Not to count the $30+ spent on the food from "Woo Woo" Ain't NO chicken and ribs worth that!! By the time I got my car back from a sketchy tow yard way out in Markham (stay alert out there), the food was trash!! Dry chicken!! Fries shriveled up!! Ordered a chicken and fish combo the fish tasted like fried brown paper towels dusted with Lawry's. If a business profits while its customers get ambushed, that tells you everything about its integrity. This is not community-focused ‍it's exploitation, plain and simple. Save your money. Let's hop right into it. I will not, I CANNOT mince words. I WILL SAY, there is this unspoken "understanding" with most that there is always a wait with Ribhouses/Rib Joints. I will not debate all the reasons as to why this is the truth. But let me take you down a review of a continued disappointment in the restaurant of Woo Woo's . 1/31/25 Called in an order for a bucket of ribs mild and 2 6-piece wings(sauce on). Order done. I get a call back to tell me they wouldn't be able to do the order for the bucket,but could do 2 large tips. Alright(was my response). 45min to 1 hour wait. Alright. Well... The wait was over and hour. And they didn't even have 2 large tips to give me. No explanation. What was said? "We have a regular tip and a large and we can comp you for the large tomorrow if you come back.." Even after the phone calls placed regarding the order. *sigh* The prayer is that this food we ordered would be worth the waited time and slight inconvenience. Wings- Didn't come with sauce and were over fried. They kids did not like. *sigh* Rib tips(pictured): Fries were old, some were hot, some were cold. Some could be eaten, some couldn't. I have no idea what that was about, but it is what we received. The ribs were over sauced in my opinion but were not bad. The pieces that I could eat,were tender. The pieces I couldn't eat were over cooked(hard or burnt ) and there was more bone just slathered in sauce. As I type this review it is 2/1/25,and I am literally standing (back) in the restaurant waiting on a rib tip owed that I called in a 5:36pm. It is now 7:43pm. Everyone Angie the cashier/order taker speaks to, she tells them an hour wait time. Angie speaks to everyone very nicely. But Angie DOES NOT TELL THE TRUTH TO ANYONE IN THIS PLACE. TODAY OR YESTERDAY. Yes, I get it. It's a ribs place. Cool. I won't argue with anyone. But NO ONE should wait like this. NO ONE. I have dined at amazing places all over the world and have never had to wait on PORK SMOKED OR GRILLED like this. This entire experience was trash. There is no other way to say it. Very good food. I got the steak burger with spicy barbecue -- solid choice. I also tried the chicken wings with sauce on everything, and they hit the spot. The rib tips with sauce on everything were just as good. Service is great. There's a small waiting area with some arcade games, and while the wait times can be a little long, that's expected with this type of food and service -- nothing out of the ordinary. The owner Charles is cook, and Angie at the register has top-notch customer service. She's always got great energy and a positive attitude, and honestly, that alone will keep me coming back. Food is really good bbq it just takes forever. Even if you placed the order 1 hr ahead of time it'll probably still take 15 mins more at least when you arrive. When I want their food I just have to mentally prepare myself to wait. Would get 5 stars if timing was better but the food is most important part at end of the day for me. Call ahead is the name of the game here. I ordered the chickens wings and cat fish, rib tips both came with fries. Next time I will pass on the chicken and the fish. It looked good but surprisingly had little seasoning. But the rib tips were just fine. They had flavor and the sauce was good. The Mac and cheese had a nice taste with a hint of garlic. Of course I added my own salt and pepper as that is my personal preference. Also the fries could use a few more minutes being cooked again a preference. Today I'm very disappointed. My wife called after waiting just over an hour and was told our order should be coming right up. That was an hour ago. This weekend my family and I had Woo-woo's. We ordered 50 wings and a large family size pan of fries with lemon pepper and plenty of mild sauce on the side. I first called about 11:15 am and the young man that helped me let me know that even though they didn't open up until 12:00 noon, it would be no problem taking care of our order. And take care of us he did. When we got to Woo-woo's at about 11:50am, we waited about 5 minutes and he was pulling the chicken out of the fryer. He wasted no time ringing us out and was courteous while doing so, graciously thanking us for being a patron of the business. Now, the chicken? Grrrrreat, delicious, scrumptious- a 10/10!! Ok, ok, it's fried chicken so I don't want to overstate things. However, this chicken was among the best I've had in a great while. It was fried so pretty plus the breading was crispy and well-seasoned. In fact, we were smashing so hard that five minutes passed before one of my nieces asked about mild sauce for her fries. We had left the sauce in the car but the chicken was so fye, we did not need it at all. And I say this as a person that loves fried chicken drizzled with mild sauce and set on top of white bread. None of that was needed. My nephew had been in whining about wanting chic-fil-a all morning and looked let down when I came in with the Woo-woo's. 20 minutes later, I caught his lil behind standing over the garbage can trying to grab up the last little crispy bits of batter before tossing his plate. My pleasure, lil buddy. Lol. We usually go to sharks up the road but I decided we should support this local small business in our community and I am so glad we did. What we got was good food, great service and a new go-to place for chicken wings and fries. I hear they serve barbecue too. My husband and I ordered a large hot link and large rib tips yesterday evening. they told us it would take 20 to 35 minutes. it took them 1 hour and 50 minutes to get our order ready. Woo Woo's smoke is without question the most consistently good barbecue joint in the South suburban area. The Mile sauce is outstanding, the rib tips are always tender and the food is made to order every time. The owner and staff are always kind and willing to accommodate customers. The only critique I have is that wait times can be a bit long. I was at Woo Woo's yesterday. We used to go in Lynwood, IL all the time, but we live a ways away now, so we patronize Woo Woo's every time we get a chance. The wait was long, because I went at lunchtime during first opening, but it was SO worth it. And they have a TV playing my favorite Disney shows.
