They have changed a few things in the last few months. The food is still good but definitely not as fantastic as it use to be. They no longer have regular fries now they have steak fries which I did not like. But as always the guy at the front counter is patient, very nice and friendly.

I eat barbecue all over the country and this is among the best. I ordered the links which were lean (less fat) and long. Really good flavor the hot ones have a little heat but not overwhelming. The tips were great. Barbecue sauce was good. Highly recommend.

Thumbs up for a new BBQ restaurant called Sunny's Bar B Que. I believe they recently moved from Chicago to South Holland, so it's important to supporting new local restaurants. I ordered a large rib tip/ link combo for only $14 plus tax. The tips were tender and delicious and the links had a good kick. The sauce has a sweet bold taste and the fries were great. Overall the meal was hefty', delicious and a great price! Congrats to Sunny's Bar B Que and wish you great success! 101 West Sibley, South Holland 708-566-4642

Good food and price, the ribs are really tender, the chicken is seasoned well, and the sauce knocks it out of the park. This is my go to.

We ordered the Black Bullet party pack which comes with two pounds of brisket and two large sides. We went with fries and beans, and also added ribs, mac and cheese, and buns to the order. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. I'm glad to see this place is still around and still holds up after all this time. More importantly, the brisket is every bit as good as I remembered.

We arrived to a crowd of people who were waiting for food they had already ordered; which actually worked out in our favor because we were the only customers that needed to make an order. The friendly lady at the window told us she would take our order as soon as she was sure there was enough food to fill the orders already made; my heart sank! Great service though the greeting could have been sooner. She hooked us up though! But once we ordered and I told her I had to have this food because in NYC the bbq ain't it. I said what I said. Yeah, I make do with 2 spots (who shall remain nameless) I may go to once a year each to get my fix but they ain't Pit Stop. The food was AMAZING!!! We got a combo of rib tips and hot links and when I tell you the heat of the hot links was so perfectly paired with the seasonings. I like heat and the links did not disappoint. The link was so good I had it as a breakfast sausage the next day. The tips were tender, meaty and saucy. Hell, I don't even mess with white bread but I indulged just because. The spot is designed for carry out vibe only and that's probably a smart move considering the size and purpose.

To get there from DeKalb by air, I had to dog-leg the flight over Cushing Field (to stay out of the Aurora and Lockport airspace) and then head east from there. Important note for pilots: If you are landing, try to make it to 9/27, or you'll have a long taxi up to the terminal where the restaurant is at. Once you are there (by AIR), you'll go to the far left end of the big building (you can see the beer signs in the window). Make sure you remember the CTAF (you'll need it to get back on the airport), and go through the gate, go up the elevator, and walk into the restaurant. Ambiance-wise, this place has large windows, a very large bar, a Namco Ms. Pac Man / Galaga game, bathrooms that are reasonably clean, some gambling machines, and decent food. I ordered their Pulled Pork Sandwich, which came with french fries. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Plate, which came with cole slaw, garlic toast (2 pieces) and a green bean caserole. I ordered the pulled Pork Sandwich, and I ordered it spicy. It was not spicy by any definition. The amount of barbeque sauce provided was around a 1/2 of a shot glass. It was not enough. With that said, the barbeque was dry and needed the barbeque sauce. The fries were nice and fresh. My wife had the Pulled Pork Dinner. I sampled her cole slaw (with paprika, very good) and the green bean casserole - which seemed to use canned green beans, ugh. Very soft, the mouth feel was b l a h. Service was solid. We were greeted (walk in, no sign, sit where you want), and helpful. The food just wasn't as good as other barbeque places. They also have some specials. The menu is very straightforward and luckily for us carnivores had a lot of choices. Service was very friendly and kind and the food came out very quickly. The bread service is a little bit off. They probably could actually serve you the olive oil with the cheese and the pepper so that you could actually dip it more for your bread. I do wish the calamari came with legs not just rings. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were delicious as well. The barbecue special that my friend ordered did not disappoint.
