Although it was a bit cold and windy out, it was still a good time. I was able to purchase coffee from the coffee truck, Argentinian empanadas, and a goat milk soap. Jonathon showed us to each vendor and described what each tent had to offer, how long the market had been around. The cooking demo was great. Chef Jazzy explained her background, being trained at the Culinary Institute of America. She demonstrated how to properly cut a pineapple, grill it, to bring out its natural sweetness. The king trumpet mushrooms were an alternative vegetarian to "scallops", everything prepared was delicious! This was such a great idea to use produce and seafood sourced from the market. I will try to return to this Farmer's Market to support the local businesses.

As soon as they open in the spring until closing at the end of August, I am here at least twice per week. There is nothing like the taste of locally grown, pesticide-free produce: *Corn is absolutely delicious. Worth the extra cost, and remember that these will not be picture-perfect ears because no pesticides are used. Snap off or cut off the top if you find a little worm and remember that this is what you do in exchange for natural produce. *Watermelons are addictive. Scrumptious! *Cantaloupe: sugar-sweet. Grab it when they get it, otherwise you'll miss them because they sell fast! *Red potatoes are WAY better than what you'll get in the grocery store. These reds make hands-down the best mashed potatoes you will ever eat. *Tomatoes (either from their farm or other local farms): nothing like what you get in any grocery store. These ARE tomatoes. *Squash: zucchini, butternut, acorn, gold bar and others. The flavors explode in your mouth! *Eggplant: the regular or Japanese (when they have it) variety has the most distinct flavor whether you're making parmesan, grilling it or frying it. *Greens: kale and other greens. Super tender! *Cabbage: makes the best coleslaw you will ever eat. Stock up on local honey before the end of summer, too. Honey lasts forever, and they will be sold out come August. On Tuesday, I was looking for a local farmers market close to me I found this place. I read. The reviews and I was like wow good reviews I have to go. I honestly did not experience the ambiance I read in the reviews. I was a bit confused because they had a very select few of stuff they've grown and stuff was from other places. I spent like $15 bucks and I was so happy. The same day the carrot got these big knots on it and I didn't understand why then on Wednesday the entire carrots turned black as you can see the pictures. Not to mention the cabbage turned yellow. I don't know why this happened and I'm very disappointed, but I will not be returning to this market.

There's tons of free parking just around the corner in the large onsite parking garage. The market itself is well attended by farmers, bakers, butchers, artisans, plant enthusiasts, and the community. I've been to this market several times now and am constantly impressed with the wide variety of options. Some local favorites include the fresh farmer's produce, sourdough bread vendors, fresh flower vendors, vegan options (shout out to Prophecy Foods with amazing vegan cheeses), and the ready to eat bites like Dumpling Haus. All of the vendors take credit cards which is convenient in case you forgot to bring cash. There's often live music and a few small tables to sit and sample your bounty and just enjoy the fresh air. While you are not going to find the cheapest bargain here, it feels good to help support small businesses, take part in a community activity, and score some healthy foods for you and your family. Since they are using a parking lot, the ground is flat and easy to walk on. They have an info. booth and a watering station. There are some public bench for you to sit in the area. All the vendors are very professional and good quality veggies and meat here.
