I have gone to this restaurant several different times. Overall, I would classify it as just okay. If you are looking for a place that's quick, fairly priced and basic I would recommend this please. Every time I have gone I have tried something different, and I just feel as though all the food is blah. They have a nice selection of drinks and the staff is always phenomenal.

Love coming here for a date night dinner or with friends! Although they are super busy (rightfully so), the service is efficient nonetheless! staff is super kind and it food is yummy!

I was recommended Wood-n-Tap by coworkers, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. For a small Connecticut chain, they've really nailed the consistency and quality. I sat at the bar where the bartenders were quick to greet me, hand me a menu, and pour a drink without missing a beat. I've been ordering the Pinot Noir here, but to be honest, the wine selection feels a bit basic at this location. The Pinot was drinkable but not great--next time I might switch it up with a Merlot or something else. Now the food, though, is where this place shines. The salmon with Parmesan risotto was out of this world. The flavor, the texture, the way it all came together--it was perfect. The salmon was baked just right, and the risotto was creamy and rich. Even the asparagus stood out; they give you hearty pieces that are so thick, you almost need a knife. Service was warm and upbeat, and everyone seemed genuinely excited about the ongoing renovations. The only downside for now is that the men's room is temporarily a high-end porta potty outside. But it's a sign that better things are on the way, and honestly, it didn't take away from a great night. Highly recommend--especially that salmon.

Went here after a long soccer game in the rain and we're happily greeted and seated quickly even though the parking lot was packed. The waitress and hostess were kind and paid attention to detail. My son had the filet medallions with lime rice and French fries. The filet was cooked good but seasoning was minimal, the fries were nice and crispy and the rice was lacking. My husband had the half rack of ribs with garlic mashed and coleslaw. The ribs were fork tender and had nice bbq flavor. I had the Thai Asian salad with a side of grilled chicken. The addl order of chicken literally was four slices of chicken. The salad had a blob of noodles, dressing, and small sprinkle of mandarin oranges and peanuts no other veggies or add ins to the salad. We shared the crème brulee which was tasty but not your normal as it had a chocolate bottom layer. The lights in the restaurant are pretty dark and dreary and the booth table seemed a bit dirty but it was a buzz Saturday night. They do take credit card and there is plenty of parking

The Wood N Tap is located as a stand alone restaurant in a supermarket plaza. Parking does not seem to be an issue, although online pick up parking is pushed a bit off to the side. The interior is very dark - it's not hard to see, but definitely a dark wood theme. There are several rooms with tables and booths, and one with a large bar. Most curious is one long bench along the hall towards the restrooms. It's so long, I couldn't quite figure out why it was there in design. The servers were very pleasant though, and kept the refills coming. Yay hydration! The burger was the quality I've come to expect from the Wood N Tap, with ketchup carefully portioned out. The crab dip was very cheesey, but the crab itself was hard to find. However, I recommend saving any extra to dip with your fries and/or sandwich. Don't let it go to waste!

I crave Woodntap at times, specially for their salads. This time my dad asked if we can go since he havent been in a long time and I didn't even hesitate to say No! Sangrias are always great there, the Service and food! Today my dad ordered the pork Chop Piccata. Came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. My dad subbed the mashed potatoes for French fries. He said it was tender and not dry! I was also satisfied with My dishes. I did want the steak Cobb salad but kitchen staff was unsure if bourbon marinade had wheat and was gluten-free. Do I didn't order it. I would have loved to tho! So to be safe I just order a small house salad. Everything we did order was very good tho . Sat outside! Drinks were great! No complaints. Just wish they New the steak sauce ingredient on the salad.

Had a busy day and popped in for a burger. We'd never been here before, so were pleasantly surprised. I had the Blue Cheese burger and hubbie had the Mariner Sandwich (Salmon). Both were excellent. He had sweet potato fries and I had the Parmesan garlic tater tots. Everything, including the service was excellent

    Cheers to 2024!!!

Don't sleep on this place like I did! Focusing on their whiskey / bourbon selection they have at least a dozen single barrel picks. We tried three of them - Russel's, old forester, and Jack daniels - they were all delicious. Service was also great. Christine was attentive and willing to help us whenever we had questions. The other guests seated at the bar were cool too - we talked about food and music in a comfortable setting. Happy hour specials were great. My quesadilla was only $6! I plan to return to my local location to try more single barrel picks during hh in the future.

Good salad, chicken was cooked well, I like that they use the mixed croutons. Chicken portions are a little small for the price but overall good quality.

Three and a half stars for this unplanned visit after the restaurant we planned was closed for Friday lunch and dinner (smh!)?? Food was good ... appetizer of half order (8 PCs) wings were great although we ordered garlic Romano and here was definitely a curry flavor in there ... thankfully we like curry and enjoyed them as well as their dressing with chunks of blue cheese. My arugula salad with delicious apricot vinaigrette (perfect balance and not too acidic) with walnuts and fried goat cheese and added (5 small) shrimp for $7 extra was delicious. The "spicy" Mac and Cheese was more just a flavor of chipotle then spicy but still good! With drinks out check was $61 so not bad. Service was good, not stellar and a little slow but acceptable.

Burger was cooked to my liking. Service was pretty good. If I lived in CT I may come back.

Sparse decoration and the kitchen takes up a majority of the tiny space. There are tables, but it's very much a To-go place. We ordered some tamales, some tacos and some chips. Went to the salsa bar and got a bunch of sauces to try. Drove to a parking lot to take pics and dig in. The tacos were a little overcooked and under seasoned. They tasted good and were dressed simply. They all needed salsa to really shine. The chorizo was the best bite. Just enough spice and seasoning to stand well on its own. The weakest being the ground beef, which was dry and not seasoned beef. The tamale was good, cooked in a banana leaf, good masa and the mole filling was hot and sweet which chicken used as the protein. A well balanced bite. The chips and salsa were basic but plentiful. Price was reasonable given the quality. It's not a date night Mexican place. It's a place for regular folk to get decent Mexican fare at decent prices, good portions, and basic but executed well tacos. I opted to order a couple tacos to-go and try their chicken and mole tamale on special. Wow!! The proteins were cooked perfectly with flavor - so all the taco needed was cilantro and onion - like they are supposed to be done. The tamale was probably the best I have ever had. Using a black mole inside the tamale the chicken was moist and tender. My favorite value was the salsa bar - at no additional cost you can choose from about 6 different salsas, from a variety of spicy levels and flavors. Also included is Jalepano, radishes and some other small things. A great idea that adds true value to the customer. Overall this is a taqueria that I will drive to!!! When I am in the mood for tacos I am here. I should also mention they do have a full Mexican menu with entrees and such. So many items to try to keep you coming back.

I even paid for extra shrimp & there still wasn't enough. It was more cheesy than anything. The rice was good & the beans had shredded, melted cheese on top which I love. The flan, however, wasn't good for me. It didn't really hit & was kind of disappointing. It lacked flavor & its consistency was off. I really liked their salsa verde sauce (it had gr8 flavor & a nice kick). Mexican food is one of my favorites and I am an unabashed snob. Since moving back to CT I have struggled to find good Mexican, and it looks like La Catrina May have answered the call! I was nervous that there wouldn't be much for her to eat when they agreed to try La Catrina with my wife and I, but I was wrong. Our waitress was very patient and helpful in directing our friend to a number of dishes that would be ok for her to eat. The kitchen was also very accommodating in tailoring her food to ensure her needs were met making her meal and experience all the more enjoyable. As for me, I dove right in and started off with some guacamole which was fresh, creamy, and very enjoyable. I then moved on to a bowl of pozole which was very authentic w/ hominy and a very nice broth. For my main course, I went with the Barbacoa Des Rey. Very good and again authentic. Served with rice and beans with a side of fresh corn tortillas. Finished the night w/ Dulce de Leche and an order of Churros. The Churros were enjoyable, however, the Dulce de Leche was a show stopper. Huge portion and extremely decadent. One of the better that I have had.
