This is a fairly new place to my knowledge. Went for breakfast the other day. I had a veggie omelette. It was a very good size serving and tasted great. I always ask for crispy hash browns and they were done as I asked. Only down side was a there a fair amount of grease on the plate. They are a breakfast and lunch place so hours are limited. They have both Mexican and American food. It is hard to find a breakfast place in the area where I live so I need to travel a bit. Service was good and I enjoyed my meal. read more

Tried breakfast from Wood's Corner for the first time this morning. I wanted to order for pickup and the menu on their Facebook page wasn't working, so I sent them a message on Messenger and they responded immediately and sent me pictures of the menu! Took a look at the menu, called it in, and they told me ten minutes! When I arrived my food was ready and was reasonably priced. The place was small, but cute. I ordered a half order of the biscuits and gravy. They were AMAZING, I should've ordered the full. So good I for got to take a picture until I was halfway done. My boyfriend got the hillbilly bowl with pancakes and he said both were pretty good. I didn't try it, but it looked good. We also got an order of the chilaquiles. Unfortunately, these were disappointing. I ordered them with over easy eggs and the eggs were definitely significantly overcooked. The chorizo was more like ground beef, not enough queso, and the flavor of the salsa roja was off. I would definitely still order from here again, just not the chilaquiles. I'll stick to the biscuits and gravy and maybe try the bamma Benny next time! read more

staying in the area for a few days and I am a breakfast person, so I was searching out a non-chain restaurant for my morning fare. This place is the bomb and I mean that in a great way! I've had breakfast there the last two days and I was waiting to write review just to make sure that they nailed it the second time as well. And they did. the first day I ordered the standard fare of eggs, bacon, country potatoes, and toast along with my badly needed coffee. On day two, I ordered a breakfast bowl which consisted of eggs over easy on top of country potatoes with green peppers and onions. Pancakes on the side and coffee. I have to tell you both meals came out, hot and tasty and filling. Plus, the portions were a good size. in fact, I could not finished the bowl on day two. The service was exceptional, I never had to ask for a coffee refill, the prices are reasonable, and the place is spotless. Even the bathrooms are clean. the staff says hello when you walk in and they say goodbye as you depart. Unlike the review by Karen R. farther down the list (isn't that name appropriate), this place rocks. If you are so particular about your palate that each piece of seasoning and flavor are scrutinized, then you're going to find something wrong no matter where you go. But if you're looking for good, hot food served by somebody that is attentive and nice, and in a clean environment, get your ass here and have some breakfast. Pictures below of what I had. read more

The food here is amazing. The menu looks so good that the hubby ordered off the menu with Chilaquiles and ordered a Al Capone special because he couldn't choose. I got the bacon cheeseburger I have been craving since watching The Menu on Netflix and let me tell you, it was exactly what I was looking for. Food has went down in quality since they first opened and was served cold. Definitely tastes cheaper which does not match their prices. The lady with the glasses was rude to us and hardly checked on us or gave refills and gave my wife an attitude when she asked for mayo while the younger girl stood on her phone the whole time. We live locally and it is so what of a food desert. I was please to find the local online and thought my husband and I would pop in for a quick lunch. We were greeted promptly and was able to pick our seating. Jenny was our server and was very cheerful and helpful. She was able to handle the whole restaurant effectively. The food was amazing. I had the French toast sandwich, which had plenty of bacon and and a large piece of ham. The hash browns were cooked to perfection as well. My wife ordered smoked salmon Benny, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was delicious and the salmon was thick and delicious. 2.5/5 Honestly the food was not seasoned well. The avocado toast was not fresh it really tasted like the avocado spread from ALDIs. My hash brown were definitely over cooked and chewy and the veggies didn't not taste like they sautéed well at all. So let me start by saying the service was great! However, the food was barely mediocre. I had eaten there several times since they first opened, and the food was amazing. I had not been there in a while so before I moved I thought I would go for a meal. I ordered a hamburger and fries which I had there before and it was delicious. This time it was just not good. The meat was different and so were the fries. I don't know what happened that the food went from really good to bad but I will not go back. Great New Restaurant. Staff is friendly & works very efficiently. The cream of chicken soup tasted like a fresh homemade chicken potpie. Delightful. Hubby ordered the corned beef hash. Wow. The eggs were cooked perfectly & the corned beef was smokey & tender. I had a cobb salad. Was huge. Packed full of hard boiled eggs, avocado, with fresh baby greens & the bacon was sooo good. I asked for crispy chicken rather than grilled & the server was quick with a Yes, Absolutely. We truly enjoyed our first experience. The menu is great. Not only the worst meal ever, but service was awful as well. I could undo if it was busy, but not the case. since it was a special and was only going to be on the menu through the end of November I decided to try the beef stew bread bowl. Of course it looks nothing like the picture. it only had three pieces of meat, two of which were all fat and I immediately spit out. A whopping two pieces of potato and the rest was all peas and carrots swimming in some god-awful gravy. I started to eat the bread bowl and my friend said send it back for $14! So I did and ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy. Needless to say I got charged for both entrées, never got an apology from the server or the manager who walked past our table several times and asked everybody else how their meals were. I live closeby, I'm a waiter in downtown chicago...work nights sleep days...but eventualy, I was up and this place wasnt closed yet (closes 2pm)...me: starving....the regulat menu has every/any thing you could want then theres a monthly special..in may one item was tacos-pastor..a favorite...it came out LOOKING SO GOOD...and it was...I went there about 4 more times just for that...then June..my breakfast, EVERY TIME: oatmeal(brn sgr) eggs, yogurt, fruit, ...coffee always fresh. waiters, 'resses so happy/friendly..the owner was chef at Palmer House downtown...this is his LIFE!..comes out EVERY time he recognizes my order to say hi...THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM! read more
