Gorgeous views on a warm, spitting spring day.

Don't miss the loft. Bring some questions for your sweetheart and enjoy a good conversation over a delicious glass of wine. Warm and welcoming family business with several award winning wines. Some dry and some sweeter varieties - both great.

This place is great! Beautiful views! Very sweet and attentive workers! Will answer any question thrown their way! Makes you feel comfortable and at home feeling! They take good care of you! The wine is great and they have a great selection! Price is very reasonable and the wine slushies are to die for! Can't recommend this place enough! If ever in Orange Virginia, this is the place to be! 5 stars is not enough! I give it a 6 out of 5 stars! I will be back!

The tasting room is small when entering and the room we sat in was very tiny but cozy and felt like an old English cottage but they also had another room that was pretty full that day. The wines were good as well as the cookies which were made by a bakery in Orange called Mary's Mountain Cookies. Being cat people, my friend and I especially loved visiting with the winery cat who was making himself at home in one of the chairs. After the self guided tasting and pairing, we did go to the bar to taste a couple of their other wines that weren't a part of the flight and we were then able to interact with the owners a bit which is always my favorite part of visiting a winery. This was a fun visit. We'll be back.

It's located down a gravelly path, with cute signs from their cat Nutter. There's an indoor tasting area and seating, as well as outdoor seating. I decided to do their 8 option tasting and really enjoyed learning about Virginia's wines and grapes, having recently moved here from the Pacific Northwest. Out of all of the wines I tasted, my favorites were the Duo (white viognier/chardonnay blend), the Founded 1734 (red blend), and the Vin Gris (merlot/cab franc blush). Bonus, you get to keep the cute glass after your tasting! This was a great place to visit, run by a super friendly couple, with many great wines. I will definitely be back!

The wines are excellent and there are several tasting options you can choose- I believe there was a red flight, a white flight, and a "signature" option that had both. You also have the option to build your own flight, which I always love. The 2024 rosé is a standout, we picked up several bottles to bring home. We could not believe how good the food was- it was worth a trip in its own right! It's on the pricier side but it is clear why, the plates wouldn't be out of place at a fine dining restaurant. We also had the kindest server, Chelsie, who made our experience so special and memorable! She stopped by to chat several times, gave us great recommendations, and she could not have been nicer to me and my friends. We were lucky enough to attend our dear friends' wedding here and it was a spectacular wedding venue. The space is just beautiful and the catering was incredible- some of the best wedding food we've had by far. We liked it so much we came back to visit the tasting room the next day :) This is a perfect stop on the way to Charlottesville from the DMV and a gorgeous place to spend an afternoon.

The wine was delicious and the property is absolutely stunning both inside and out. Not sure if they were just having an off day or they thought we weren't gonna spend any $ there due to us having dogs/ not being dressed up at all but if it wasn't for the food/drinks/ aesthetics and we think was one of the managers coming to say hi to us I would have probably left less stars. - SpicyAivy

I had been to this vineyard once years ago and remember really loving the tasting we got and the views. We came back for some wine and to explore the ruins. We really wanted to sit outside and were told they weren't doing outside service and that we had to go to the barn corner for outdoor seating. We bought a bottle of their tasty and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. It was way too loud at the outdoor seating by their barn, so we tried to sit on their library patio. Turns out they were still serving on the patio. This was a bit of an upsetting miscommunication, but the server was sweet and told us we could stay, but had to sit further down. I didn't like feeling like we weren't allowed to be somewhere so this slightly marred the experience. However, once we settled in, I really enjoyed reading with a glass of wine and pretty views. Exploring the ruins after was pretty fun too. I wish they had a little more history on a plaque nearby. There was a sign that just said it was the governor's home that burned down on Christmas day. Ignoring the weird seating, we had a great vineyard afternoon here.

We were fortunate enough to have Steven--the owner--drive us in a luxurious Cadillac Escalade. He was personable, fun, chatty, and a great driver. He also was always nearly driving up immediately upon exit. Awesome service! We were disappointed by our picnic lunch provided by our inn and at the next winery Steven had ordered us a cheese and meat plate + got us a resort credit . Seriously awesome service! None of us were familiar with the area so we needed a lot of help planning our tour. Stephen and Jenny were friendly, responsive and knowledgable about area wineries and restaurants. They helped us design the itinerary for our wine tour and select a restaurant for dinner, and then made reservations at each stop on our behalf. It was easy to communicate with them via phone and email, and they kept me updated on the status of reservations and relayed key info throughout the process. All communications with both Stephen and Jenny were very professional and made me feel confident that I selected a great tour company. On the day of our tour, CVWTT did not disappoint! Our group of 14 reserved the 18-passenger limo bus for the day. The bus was clean and came stocked with glassware and bottled water. It also had an auxiliary chord so we could play our own music. Our driver Tina arrived promptly and was incredibly polite and professional. She kept us on track the entire day and gave us friendly reminders when we needed to start wrapping up a tasting so we could make our next appointment. She was also kind enough to get out at one stop and take some photos of us so that no one in our group had to be left out of group pictures. She really went above and beyond to make our experience great. I would definitely book with CVWTT again in the future!

The house has been redone and the decor inside is new and contemporary but still fits with the period of the older home. The back door has a keypad lock so you can come and go as you please with ease and there was a welcome package with snacks, jam, and a handwritten welcome note. Location is great because, with ample parking in the back of the home, you can walk around the town to antique, explore and eat at one of a dozen or more restaurants. They don't do the traditional breakfast but had a small bar well-stocked with coffee, tea, bananas, fresh pastries, and juice and water. Enough for me! Usually I kind'a wanna go out and explore on my own anyway and the town has several nice places for brunch (Spoon and Spindle was my fav). Pat was great and communicative through email/text but wasn't hovering in the way some B&B owners are.
