Made a quick stop at Woodbury Diner before a Saturday morning drive and it was exactly what we needed. Classic diner atmosphere, friendly service, and food that came out fresh and fast. The wrap was packed with flavor and the fries were perfectly crispy. Fresh orange juice was a great touch to start the morning right. Quality diner down the road from shopping mecca Woodbury Commons. We stopped here for a kid friendly dinner while in the area. Great and fairly cheap kids menu! My kids each got a main (pancakes and chicken fingers/fries) and there were plenty of leftovers. We got the big pretzel for $9.50 to start and it was big and delicious. On par quality with an upscale tavern. I tried the special which came with gyro meat, souvlaki chicken, rice, pita, and a big Greek salad for $20.95. Overall it was cooked well, flavorful, huge portion, on par with a nice Greek restaurant. Service was attentive and food came out fairly quickly. The best description is this is just a silly place. I assume they serve food. In my two visits I was ignored by staff - maybe they only serve people they know, as I saw plenty of staff, but they are all bantering with each other or other friends. If you have zero speciations, it's possible this diner can meet that. read more

Issue with this place is we never seem to get our food hot. Most times barely warm. We've been three times and every time we had to send it back or eat like warm food. This last time the ham on my eggs beni was cold like it just came out of the chiller. Not fridge cause things like that are at the ready. But it was cold and really ruined the whole thing. All the bacon is pre cooked so ask for it extra crispy so they at least warm it up. The first we went there it was cool and limp. Never had issue with the service. Atmosphere is fine. It's a dinner with nothing special. In typical diner fashion they try to make everything so nothing is fresh. It's canned, boxed, powdered, or made ahead of time and reheated. Except for the fruit. Just left what a disappointment. Was here a little while ago and thought I was going to repeat the experience...nope Onion soup was pretty salty, what a shame. The turkey dinner fell flat. Boiled, hard broccoli no seasoning along with the boxed "mashed potatoes" watery no taste, the "stuffing" tasted familiar, it was the croutons incorporated into the onion soup! Had to make a stop at the outlets a short distance away. Felt the urge for some breakfast food at 3pm, and a quick Yelp search revealed the Woodbury Diner. Ordered a ham and American cheese omelette with home fries and toast and some matzo ball soup. Both dishes were very good. Others in my party ordered burgers, eggs Benedict, a grilled chicken sandwich, chicken fingers with fries and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Everyone was happy with their meal and if I found myself in the area again, I certainly wouldn't mind returning. Service was fast and friendly and the prices were fair. On our return trip from a family wedding, we stopped at the Woodbury Diner for a quick lunch. This is a traditional diner with the atmosphere and huge, varied menu that you would expect. The staff was polite and seemed to know many locals that were coming in for lunch. We ordered the Tuscan Burger and Beef Gyro. The burger was cooked perfectly, medium-rare, and the gyro was tasty. This was a clean diner and our server was super sweet and attentive but the food was SO slow (they weren't busy and it took like 40 minutes for our food to come out) and when it finally came out, we were ASTONISHED at the "Bolognese" that my son ordered. Absolutely. Astonished. Who puts frozen mixed vegetables into ground meat with tomato sauce and calls that Bolognese?, we wondered. Someone in Woodbury, NY apparently! It was not good. Do not order that. I had the pretzel sticks (unfortunately rubbery) and the chicken fingers (safe!). My husband had a pastrami reuben, which he said was "fine". Probably been here before, just not in a while, and before i started writing reviews. actually used to prefer monroe diner over this one, but i believe this was before this restaurant was renovated. Went here recently (Today) on Saturday January 13th 2024 with my dad after getting his truck inspected. There was plenty of parking, as it has a pretty big parking lot. Entered the building, and someone sat us at a booth for 2 people. Glad to be seated right away. Place also was spacious and clean. We started with 2 waters, then our waitress came over and took our orders. We started with 2 coffees. She came back with the coffees, and took our orders: I ordered the brownie smores pancakes, and my dad ordered blueberry pancakes. before you know it, our food was ready! Glad to see that for the blueberry pancakes, the blueberries were inside the pancakes! Now i know next time i can order those! The brownie smores pancakes were very good, and tasted like brownies. The topping marshmallows can be a little sticky, but it was delicious! I'm glad that i decided to come here! our waitress should have checked on us a bit more, i think, but it's all good! The nicest looking and cleanest diner I ever been too, definitely they pride with appearances. So after waiting a few minutes I got a seat. I did notice they seemed very unstaffed considering the owner and one waitress was bussing around to get to all the customers. A-bit disappointed it took a while to even place a order, since mostly came here with breakfast in mind and my choice did not take long. Felt bad the waitress apologizing for slow service and being out of breath doing so. Now the food, never had home fries that were very thinly sliced potatoes over fried pan fried chunks, different but still good, although sightly under seasoned. Now the Napa crab Benedict, crab cakes were moist and so fork tender, plenty of crab which was nice it was more meat then breading, plus very well seasoned. Thank you so much !! -- DOORDASH, as a non-related third-party, however, is a Predatory Private Global Restaurant Delivery Business that robs DASHERS (contracted deliverers) earning lower incomes from your expected tips -- and then Restaurant Owners having to part with an exorbitant chunk of their revenues from meager margins during these sad, harsh COVID-19 times we endure to its DOORDASH Accounts. As a customer, I feel utterly appalled at DOORDASH for robbing me the client repeatedly too -- as if the Monthly Membership Fee for its delivery service isn't enough for DOORDASH to charge us, this Chinese-founded and Chinese-run company furthermore Charges a Supplemental Surcharge to Every Single Delivery Order -- a Secondary Service Charge to the customer bill, which is nothing short of Outrageous Highway Robbery !! So I just ate here and it was very good. Matzo ball soup and French onion for the wife. I had the fried fish sandwich (delicious) and she had a valley wrap, also very good. The long wait for the Woodbury Diner to open has finally ended.... The diner is OPEN and it was worth the wait! We stopped by today and enjoyed a Children's nachos and a roasted Portobello mushroom quesadilla. Both were delicious. The nachos were multi colored chips with several kinds of melted cheeses (real cheese, none of that fake goo). The quesadilla was outstanding. Made with a variety of freshly roasted vegetables (red pepper, mushrooms, onions, and spinach) with goat cheese, drizzled with a light lime cream sauce. Came with a side of guacamole, sour cream, and fresh Pico de gallo. It was so filling I took two quesadilla sections home. We will be making the Woodbury Diner a weekly visit! read more
